Pros: reasonably staffed. Average prices. Con: pathetic rebate system requiring paper receipt, form, and mailing to Wisconsin! Everyone else on the planet uses web-based rebate systems. My instincts are that this is an intentional barrier to keep rebate compliance low. Sad the company thinks that of their customers. read more

I'm always surprised as to with this place has to offer. I even once bought a shirt and a belt from here. But i mainly come here for Hardware . We bought a fan for the kitchen here. It had a light. And the surfaces usually pretty great. This is a very very good Menards . Nice people and a lot to offer. The tools are not too expensive and they've got tools for every need. i purchase many products from Menards. their rebate policy is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen you physically have to spend money to print a document and use printer ink. You have to mail the document which cost you the need for the envelope and a stamp. And then you have to wait for the rebate. This process is completely outdated and efficient, unproductive and time-consuming for the customer. It makes no sense in today's world. Please find a way to get more connected with technology to enable a more efficient relationship with your customers. read more

Amazing assortment of merchandise but I've been in the store twice and the staff have NO regard for customer service. Three people at the service desk and no one was being waited on... one guy refused to provide assistance with insulation, "too busy". Horrible experience this weekend with a pre-ordered pickup item. First off, I called the day of to ask what the pickup system was, having never done pickup at this store. I was told to enter the furthest lane to the right on the backside of the building, and that there would be directions on what to do there. Since I had an online order I had no barcode to scan, per the machine, and being that their call button was broken, I called inside again, and was told to go through the deliveries line. The gentleman who waited on me stared at me, said NOTHING, as I tried to explain that I didn't have a barcode blah blah. He finally, and with as much exasperation as he could muster, asked for my confirmation number. Once I was in the lot I called the posted number, and my item was put into my car for me. All good, or so I thought. As soon as I got home and went to grab my item it was VERY OBVIOUS that the box was torn and the item inside damaged (evident through the tear in the box). So the woman who put the item in my car did so knowing it was damaged. Cool. Called Menards and asked to speak to the manager; as soon as I explained my issue/concern, she literally transferred me back to the pickup dept. No apologies from anyone. Listen, I get that you're busy, but at the very least--apologize. Im not looking for money off, or even a discount. Im looking for someone to day, "jeepers! Sorry we wasted your time." So, not only did I have to go there once, but two days in a row, and got to go through the same rigamarole again! The only saving grace was the high school/college aged gentleman that helped on Sunday was ridiculously helpful and kind. We'll skip this location in future. read more

It's a hard time with Covid 19 changing the way businesses are run. Manards has done a fantastic job over staying open while enforcing the social distancing. They've hired Pinkerton security agents to help as well. The store has kept the shelves well stocked and that's been a relief because it's been slim pickings at all my other favorite shopping centers. The staff is friendly and cheerful even with the possible worry of becoming sick. I had 3 items I needed and the staff guided me through the store to all my items. This store opened about a year back and they've impressed me every time I've came here. Lots of parking and plenty of sales and good deals around every corner. I always walk in and checkout with more items than I planned on buying. Good deals always get me. Try them and you'll be glad you did. read more

See the nearby note from Megan M. My comment is about a similar issue (botched delivery) and the same person, Henry Gross. On a large door order ($8,000) the store did not include the screens when the product was delivered. I took time out of my day to drive to the store to arrange for the screens to be delivered. The counter help could not decide if they would ship the screens. Then the assistant manager begins asking me questions about the screen size, distance, etc. as if any of this information had any bearing on whether or not Menards would honor the contract they had been paid 4 months earlier to deliver. I was not pleased with the implication that they might not deliver the screens and was terse in my answers. The store general manager was standing near by, did not identify himself as such, and began berating me for not being happy with the possibility that Menards was 'screening" my answers to decide whether or not they would deliver the screens. When I said this was poor service on an $8,000 order he made fun of the number stating he often spends more than $10,000. Then, as I asked for business cards and the name of the regional manager the store GM mocked me saying (paraphrased), "Well, your complaint will just come back to me so that's not going to go anywhere." Mr. Henry Gross of the Menards in Orion, Michigan, has ensured I will not be back in his store. Nor will the people who do work on the properties I own, manage, advise on, or do work on (32 in total). I concur completely with Ms. Megan's assessment of Mr. Gross. read more

I've been coming to this store for or the past year or so since I moved to the area. It's a very large store that has just about any household item, DIY material, tools, building materials, flooring, electrical, plumbing, etc. they even have a decent collection of food items are available. The difference with this store is that you can actually find an associate that is more than willing to help you find what you're looking for or answer a question. If you're lucky to catch their 11% rebate / discount they do a couple of times a year you can save a fair amount of money. I'll be a regular customer for as long as I live in this area because as any homeowner knows, there's no end to things that need to be done, repaired or created. read more

Lake Orion, MI. Very poor products. Chain saw broke down from first use, chain came off easily. Lawn mowers used for one season, stopped working. Poor management, 3 people waiting in line and the rude cashier Closed the register and said "you have to go to another register, we are counting cash here" because a customer was paying a large amount of cash and she had to call a supervisor or manager. One of the garden sections and in the 2 times I stopped there was playing music on her phones speaker and barely want to answer customers questions. read more

The store is like the size of Great Lakes crossing...pretty big. Not only do they sell hardware, electrical, plumbing fixtures and furnitures, it's like a mini 7-eleven inside with fresh milk, eggs and even ice cream for sale. The selling clerks are approachable and helpful. Price is comparable with Home Depot and Lowe's. They even offer services for building a new house for you for as low as 100k budget, all you need is land. They have home appliance and kids toys too! Highly recommend to go shopping here for home tools, lights, wood floor and accessories. On a Saturday night it wasn't so busy. Will be back! read more

Ordered Klearvue cabinets for a full pantry addition. A week ago I picked up a shipment of 3 pallets in two trips to Menards. This morning I get an email that there's another shipment. This was not mentioned when I picked up last week. I get there expecting several boxes as itemized in today's email. They had 1 drawer front and a tube of latex sealant. Mind you each drive to Menards is almost 1/2 hr. Looking through the order and I'm missing several pieces of hinges and hardware. read more

Unique store similar to Lowes or Home Depot, but with a little more upscale feel because of the layout, decor and lighting. Good location and clean. Very efficient checkout system with separate entrance and egress doors. Employees are helpful and courteous. Prices are good and they are always giving rebates, but the quality of their merchandise is not always up to par. read more

Ordered something online for in store pickup. I was charged a processing fee for this order. When I went to return the product they announced the processing fee was non refundable. Simply because a store has cost incurred with processing online orders doesn't make something non refundable. This is a total scam. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I ordered an almost full set of top of the line kitchen appliances (KitchenAid) from Menards for the first time. I usually buy them from a different place but we wanted to go through Menards for our kitchen so we decided to try them out. I ordered them Oct 9th. They said it could be a possible delivery date of N It had been over a month and I still had no word from them or even an update about them being delivered soon. So I went in to get a refund and decided I would just wait until the spring when my kitchen was completed. Come to find out, the manager of appliances Ryan found out my appliances have been sitting in their warehouse since Oct 13th and were never delivered or even set up for a delivery date. The manager of appliances, Ryan called the GM Henry. Henry immediately said no you can't return unless I take 25% of the cost for a restock charge per our company policy (this would have been over $1,000! So I obviously said no) I asked Henry why my stuff has not been delivered and he said you should have got a phone call or email. I said I didn't get one. I have had "special orders" through menards before and I know how they work. I never had an issue before. Henry was firm and kept referring back to their "company policy for special orders" and that was that. He would not apologize nor even try to find out why a customer's $7,000 appliance merchandise was jsut sitting in their warehouse after paying for delivery and was not delivered nor notifying the customer. I said he was shitty manager, and then he threw my receipts and papers down on the counter at me and said "well now you're definitely not getting a refund!" (he had his mind made up from the beginning before I even spoke) I said I would call whoever is above him and he said "You think I'm bad? wait until you talk to my boss he's even worse than me" (Not painting a pretty picture for Menard's business and customer service here, Henry). So after being treated horrible by Henry, I walked over to the delivery department and talked to the manager there. She found out nobody notified them that my merch was there and so they did not notify me! She called Henry back over and I asked if he could at least knock off the 150 delivery charge. He said "You called me a shitty manager" I said because you aren't even apologizing for what has happened here. You act like you don't even care about my situation. He said "People usually don't get mad about their stuff being delievered early, they ussually only get mad when it's delivered late" . I'm not joking he said this. I said "My stuff was not even delivered! It's been sitting here without me knowing and if I didn't come by today it would still be sitting here, it has not been delivered!" The delivery guys showed up days later. Henry told them about me and what happened and he had them charge me an extra $200 just to bring my fridge into my house! This guy is something! He never apologized, he was rude, walked away and did not care. Then made my life even worse by having these guys do this. I will NEVER buy appliances from Menards EVER again! The only way I would is if Menard's corp straightened this out with me personally. This guy needs to be fired for using power to hurt customers all because his tiny little man feelings were hurt by me saying what he really is- A SHITTY MANAGER! read more

It's great to finally see a Menard's in this area! The closest one before this one was built was in Warren - so this is a welcomed addition to the community. This location just opened in August 2018 and it is a standard Menard's location. With Home Depot nearby, they will be in some fierce competition for any of your hardware needs. read more

Ordered 6 Light Bulbs online for pick up from Lake Orion store on 4/20/21. Received email same day said they are back ordered. Called store, manager- Alan Krauss confirmed only 1 in stock. He refused to get any from other store. Only option is to wait 10 days for them to come in! He was rude and unhelpful! Why are items being sold online, if they are not available!!!! Manager hung up during the conversation, extremely poor customer service!!!!! Initial credit was less than m my order total!!! Will order from Amazon instead. I know Amazon will not charge me for something that they do not have in stock, and I will not have to drive to a store or wait 10 days to receive a credit for items that were not available when I purchased them!!!! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Went in to buy some shelves today and the 2 employees I spoke to were absolutely clueless and acted like they were bothered by having to work. They didnt have the shelves in the color and size I wanted on the floor that I could see, however the website stated that they had 24 in stock. The employee stated their counts are off and walked away. Didn't even try to look around or ask another employee for help who may have a clue about their inventory. When I was explaining the dimensions of the board I needed, they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. Should probably have employees who understand the product in their department. read more

First time to purchase patio rocks and we couldn't find them right away, so we asked the employee named Casey. She seemed irritated that we interrupted her day. Casey said that her job was inventory only. Then asked if she could get someone in that area? Once again that is not her job while walking us to find another employee who works in the garden center. He however was very helpful and took us right to the rocks and asked if we needed more help. Which was much appreciated and made up for Casey's lack of interest. Here's a helpful tip: Be like Home Depot. That the employees no matter what department that they are in. Will stop what they are doing to help the customer out. read more

Had a great experience here over the weekend! I was in need of folding chairs and they were sold out everywhere! I called this store and spoke to someone in the department and they put the number I needed to the side for me and even price matched to a lower cost from a local big box store! I was greeted and helped from the moment I walked in. Great experience and I will be back!!! read more
