This place is fantastic! I think that it's still second best compared to yogurtland, but definitely better than other places that I've been to. I really want to love this place. We've been three times, sampling the flavors each time to see which ones we like. A lot of the flavors just taste kinda chemicaly to us for some reason - sort of like Skittles or Starburst or something. So sweet, but in a kind of artificial way. We've been able to find a flavor or two we like pretty well each time we go - but between the insanely high prices and the so-so yogurt quality I don't think this will be a regular stop for us. I was feeling a bit peckish, but didn't want to go for something crazy like burgers and such, so I thought I would try Menchie's. I was warmly greeted by the girls at the counter who very kindly offered me samples of anything I'd like to try. I tend to be adventurous, so I decided to just jump in with both feet. There were lots of choices, and happily there were several that worked with my diabetic diet. I chose a low carb mocha with a sugar free chocolate topping. It was so great to see that I could actually get stuff that wouldn't make me feel licky later. I love the topping choices, which included mochi (yummmmm) and boba (yummmmers!). It's always busy but the line is always fast. I like the variety of flavors but most of them don't really have that yogurt-taste. Even the texture is a little bit less like frozen yogurt. Anyway, I do appreciate that they always have original tart -- that's what I typically go for and it's as good as any other place. Wednesdays are probably the best days to come because of free Waffle Wednesdays. You always end up getting more than you plan when you have a waffle cone to fill though.Oh and those bursting bobas make me think of bubble wrap... for your mouth. So addicting! read more

Brand new shiny Menchie's! Although it seems a bit deep in Lynnwood, this location is easily a lay up to the cramped Queen Anne location. Ample space and tray of mini sample cups to linger and try all the flavors on the froyo train before committing to your final choices. It's fantastic! Flavours du jour were: cookies 'n cream, devil's food cake, snickerdoodle, new york cheesecake, original tart, blueberry, kiwi strawberry sorbet, irish mint, dutch chocolate, vanilla snow to give you an idea of the range of options. Fresh fruit can't get any better than when it's in season. Heaping pile of fresh strawberries were just getting replaced, blueberries, and juicy, plump, tart raspberries too! Wish they would have more options on tart flavors, but it's a sweet set up. read more

This place would be the death of me if there was one closer to me. I would be here every day, eating everything. My one beef with the Lynnwood location is that it's been CRAZY packed every time I've been there. And not just packed - packed with high schoolers & middle schoolers. I don't think I've ever avoided standing in line but it's so good that it's worth it. They could do with a little more space and room to move around, though. I'm sort of boring and on my recent visit, went with chocolate mixed with cake batter, some chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, & cookie dough. I really want to like this place. I've been there a few times and never really find myself enjoyed this famous fro-yo people talked about. I like the the idea of tasting each flavor before actually choosing one. However, a lot of the flavors taste kinda artificial to me. I tried the cookies and cream.. Didn't not taste like cookies and cream at all. In fact there somewhat medicine taste-like to it. Yuck! I also would like them to have those original flavor like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.. My girlfriend and I come here so often that I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it yet! Awesome location in Lynnwood and it only takes me about 5 minutes to drive there. There's plenty of parking as well. The place is clean and tidy most of the time. It stays fairly busy but we're able to find a seat almost every time. They have rotating flavors to go with the season as well as the staple flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, etc.. Get a smileage card for perks! It's my favorite froyo place on the north end for sure! Yogurt is consistently delicious with lots of new flavors that rotate in and out. I went today and tried the fresh squeeze orange sorbet and the honeydew sorbet! YUMMERS! The coffee one is another fave. Also the menchies rewards card is so worth it if you're a regular! Oh Menchie's. I love you so. I love you even more now that I have strayed and tried another self serve fro-yo place. Why do I love you? - many options! Sugar free, gluten free, fat free, fruity, tart, creamy. Something for everyone. - toppings galore! cereal, nuts, choco bits, sprinkles, fruits, nuts, sauces... Though, it would be so nice if you'd keep the marshmallow cream filled til closing, please!! - you keep it pretty clean even when you're really busy. - your menchie girls smile even when they are overwhelmed. If I could change anything (besides the marshmallow cream issue) I may make the containers a little smaller. Or have an option of a smaller container. Menchies is my new guilty pleasure and when I moved to Lynnwood a few weeks ago, you can imagine how elated I was to find a Menchies right in my neighborhood! This Menchies just recently opened and it's as good as the one I frequent in Queen Anne. The flavors are always fun and different, and the toppings are plentiful. NY Cheesecake frozen yogurt with blackberries and kiwi? Yes! Watermelon sorbet with skittles and gummy bears? Yes! Almond Joy frozen yogurt with mini chocolate turtles? Yes! Seriously, it's awesome. I have never been to a frozen yogurt place like this before, but you basically go in and there is a wall of frozen yogurt flavors to choose from. You can mix and match, but they charge based on weight, so make sure you know what you're getting into when you fill your cup or else you might end up with more than you intended. After you get your bowl of frozen yogurt then you get to choose your toppings and there are PLENTY to choose from. I don't think anyone would be let down by the choices they have. Everything you could imagine, plus more! It was very busy the day we went in and at first I wasn't sure how that would be, but it was very quick to make your own and most people were trying flavors (you can test before you commit) to see what they wanted. I was modest with my ice cream and only took what I knew I could eat. With toppings and everything it cost me around $6, but you could easily spend $10 if you fill your cup full because remember it's based on the weight when you pay! read more

I think Menchie's has a very good consistency with non-fruit flavors. The frozen yogurt is very creamy, so creamy that I could mistaken it for ice cream! My favorite flavor is cake batter! I DON'T LIKE their fruit flavors. They are typically too icy for me and do not taste like fresh fruit. Bottom Line: Call in advance and ask what flavors they have! I guess you could call me a bit of a menchiholic. I live really close to menchies so I pop in often whenever I am craving some froyo. The prepacked flavors are a great value (even though they raised the price if you want a specific flavor) and the flavors rotate often so it's easy to find at least one flavor you'll like. They charge by the ounce so it can get pricey if you aren't aware of how much you serve yourself, but luckily one day a week (Fridays) from 9-11 you can indulge in as much yogurt and toppings as you can stragetically fit into a cup for only $5! The people at the register are personable enough never had any unpleasant interactions yet. All in all this place has a good rotation of flavors and can get pretty busy but it's great on a hot day or for an after dinner snack. read more

I love frozen yogurt and had my first Menchie taste on Queen Anne. Love that this place is closer to me in the Bothell Lynnwood area! It's fun to mix match and make every yogurt a little customized! Love the tart flavors with fresh fruit and I'm a big fan of cake batter or chocolate with granola coconut and sometime a little butterfinger crumbs. And of course samples make the experience extra special. It's a fun family and/or friends hang out but it can get loud with lots of kiddies! read more

I get incredibly excited when new froyo places open. After experiencing the wonder of the tart original at Pinkberry I've taken every opportunity to find a replacement. I'm sad to say that nothing comes close to comparing to that tart and tangy froyo from a land south of us, but Menchies is a respectable alternative. One thing I like about Menchie's is that you can sample as many flavors as possible. I typically will sample a few of them, usually flavored variations of their original, but now and then I'll go crazy and get cupcake or red velvet. As far as toppings go, I'm relatively boring and predictable. I usually go with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, kiwi, and mango. These are pretty standard no matter where I go and I have to say this is where Menchie's falls flat. Of all the times I've gone, they've had blueberry only once. Their blackberries are usually really sour and their kiwi rock hard. Their strawberries are usually the only thing guaranteed to be awesome. The raspberries, when rarely available, are also consistently good. I do realize it's expected that fresh fruit quality not be as good in the winter months, but their Queen Anne location and Yogurtland manage to have consistently good produce. In the grand scheme of Seattle froyo, Menchie's original ranks my second favorite. A step above Cefiorre and Red Mango but falls a tiny bit short of Yogurtland. Considering this location is spotless and less crowded and more organized than other DIY froyo establishments it would normally warrant 4 stars but the mediocre quality of their fruit knocks them down a star. read more

Oh, yum! I'm absolutely in love with self-serve froyo places and am very excited that there's now one in my 'hood. It's the same deal: get whatever flavors you want, add toppings, and pay by the ounce. I do like that you can add a waffle bowl for an extra dollar. But my absolute favorite thing is that when I went they had the Dole Whips flavor!! It is amazing, and the only other place I've ever seen this is at Disneyland. I typically don't go for frozen yogurt given the lack of flavor choices. However, Menchie's has allowed me to see the light on what frozen yogurt has to offer. Plenty of choices abound, and they rotate the flavors on a periodic basis. There are also many, many toppings to choose from. Yummy! However, given all the choices, and given the payment is by the ounce, the cost can certainly add up in a hurry. Update (7/13/2011): Now that I have been to Menchies more than once, something occurred to me. The downside of having rotating flavors at Menchies is all the flavors rotate. There are no staple flavors. For example, at other frozen yogurt establishments you can typically get frozen yogurt in Vanilla, Strawberry, or Chocolate, and then maybe there's a different flavor. But you can always count on Vanilla, Strawberry, or Chocolate being available. That is not the case with Menchies. So, if you are craving a particular flavor on a given day, it may not be available...thus, disappointment ensues. Something else that occurred to me is that I have been the only adult in the joint on my visits. I've been there at around 6 pm...yet where are all the adults after work needing a froyo fix? I may be a teensy bit biased.. I could eat froyo morning, noon and night, but Menchies is the ultimate for froyo lovers. Sample cups are at the ready for plenty of sampling before you have to make the brain freezing decision of what flavors you want to fill your cup with. Trust me, it's not an easy choice with the dozen flavors they offer. I'm not a big fan of the fruity sorbet flavors, but there's always a great variety. If you like adding a topping then you'll find tons of those too. The fresh fruit is always tasty, but I've never had the guts to try the slimey gooey things that I can't even pronounce next to the fruit ;) Get the Menchies points card, you'll be surprised how quickly you earn your $5 off! So just stumbled upon it on yelp and saw theres one up in my neck of the woods. This place has a very cool and simple concept. Self serve yogurt and toppings. Tons of flavors you can sample as well which is cool. Prices a fair for the experience. Customer service is good, everyone seems happy here. nice atmosphere. This is far better than Red Mango, by being able to get your own stuff in your quantities without being rushed or constricted to 1-2 topping without paying a bunch extra. Mencihes serves YoCream frozen yogurt which is just the best. This is one of the few places in the Seattle are where you can build your own froyo treat and they offer lots of flavors and toppings. I prefer Yogurtland but Menchies is 5x closer to my house. The set up is a little bit better than Yogurtland but the yogurt isn't as creamy. I got lucky that there wasn't a line at all when I got there but I still had to wait for the cashier since she was somewhere in the back. Will defiantly be back again and again. read more
