I wish that I could say that Brian did a great job. He's not a "bad" dude, but I will never, ever,…read moreever do business with him again. The insane experience I have had with him, would take a half a year. After checking all out for Brian (making sure he is a licensed contractor, bonded, with no complaints, and a good record with the ROC). This was in late February, before these other negative complaints hit. He was supposed to start first week of March. I deposited the cost of new cabinet doors ~4,250 (shaker style), and waited for them to be ordered. Guess what? The Brian Hilliard trend of screwing people over, continued. He hired (literal) addicts to paint the cabinet boxes, which was supposed to take two days, took 6+ weeks. The doors never came in, his crew bad mouthed him, and said that he wasn't being honest. He would be "working" until 9-11 pm at our house, trying to make some janky cabinet fronts look "acceptable". The ending of the story is, he forgot to order the cabinet doors with the 4K+ I gave him, hired some dude that had never made cabinets before, and the whole thing was a wreck. I hired someone to come and do measurements, ordered the doors directly from elite woodworking (Kathy) who helped deliver high quality cabinet fronts, and had to hire someone else to come in and complete the job. All in all, it took over four months, over a thousand text messages, too many no shows, and promises of payback, since I essentially had to hire someone else to do the job. The dude owes me over 4K, and it's just.... Terrible. Also, they trashed my yard, left their garbage, cigarette butts, food, tools, everything behind... still infuriating, and it's been two and a half months.

I contacted Avan Refinishing Solutions, and they were able to squeeze me in before I leave on a trip. Johnathan the owner showed up to my house, and did an amazing job. Daniel called me back to inform me t hat he is sending a crew out shortly. The original crew called in sick. Shortly after the call the painter text me to tell me that he would be here about noon. Painter (Julian) showed up at about 12:30 and ask what we were doing. I was shocked.... I told him the entire house was to painted, walls ceilings, trim, doors, closets, etc. He ask me if I had the paint. My response was "are you kidding me! The amount of money that I am paying, I better not be supplying the paint." I had to give him the paint samples that I purchased for him to go order the paint. Keep in mind that I gave all this information to Jesse Chavez on 3/31/2021. Julian was leaving to going order paint and get supplies and I ask him why you would be back, he said he didn't know how long it would take to get the paint so he would be back tomorrow. When asked, Julian told me he would be here at 9AM tomorrow morning. My understanding from Jesse that the most time consuming part of painting is the prep so I am confused as to why they couldn't order the paint and come back to start prep. Jesse finally called my back about 5pm and I informed him of what happened. He agreed that this was not right and very unprofessional. Ask me to contact him in the morning if Julian did not show up by 9AM. Day 2: I got a text from Julian @7:49 that he is at the paint store and they are making the paint and would let me know when he was on his way. Made the call to Jesse and informed him that this is very unacceptable. Al he could do is agree with me. I ask him to explain how this happened and he had no answers. The only reason i have not pulled out from this job at this point is that everything in my house had been removed and if i started over again, it would mean us moving everything back in and out again in a few weeks when another painter could get to the job. Really wish I had done that now! I gave Jesse a not so nice piece of my mine. At this point I am extremely upset. Its after 10 and still no work being done. I told Jesse that if he could not give me an answer the all my questions to have the owner of the company call me to explain why this happened. Jesse told me he would have Daniel call and talk to he. Need less to say, Daniel has yet to call me. He is a man with no balls and very unprofessional. When Julian completed the job i ask him if Daniel or Jesse was to come out and inspect the work he said no that he was to collect the check for the balance owed. I informed his that he would not be taking the check with him. Julian did an ok job but I don't think the job was worth the money. They are not very consistent. They removed all the outlet and switch plates but left the blank plates and 3 of the 4 coax cable plates and painted over them. Also had a wooden coat hanger with hooks in the closet that they painted over. Found many areas that I will have to touch up and they left a very big mess in my front yard where they took the covering out and dropped paint from them. He also left a big mess where he cleaned the paint in the from yard in my rocks and many drops of paint in my entry way/porch. I simply would think twice before hiring this company to paint anything! I would rate them a no stars if it was an option. Extremely unprofessional!!!
