I showed the glasses I purchased at this place to my eye doctor. They said these were the most horrible work that they have seen before. Both lenses are unequal thickness, and the edge of the glasses were ground roughly. The man in front asked me if I need thin glasses, and I said yes, but any other optical store said they could make thiner. I wasted big money here. read more

Well one of the worst eye medical centers I have been and I I have been to many (both East and West Coast). Not only the guy who sits in the front is rude but the doctor is not nice all, too!! When I asked the guy in the front desk that I am feeling very much uncomfortable with the lenses the doctor gave me and asked me the earliest time for a re check-up he became quite obnoxious and rudely answered that the doctor won't be available till next week (you can say the same thing in a polite manner, there is no reason to be rude). Then when I went for a re check-up the doctor (I think his name is doctor Stark) was being weird too (maybe he didn't like that I came for a re-visit). He didn't let me finish me my sentences and putting his words on my mouth. He was not at all interested in listening to my issues and felt like forcing his diagnosis on me. Overall, very bad experience. I am not going back there again!! read more

I have to say that I have never received better service from anyone in the past. The staff and doctor are wonderful ! My entire family, my three angels, my husband and I receive the best eye care. I have worn glasses for about 20+ years and contacts for 10+. I initially requested an eye exam for each (as you are charged for each one individually). However, the Caucasian man in glasses who seen me only did one exam and said it was okay because he's done them for over 30/40 years. (And yes I paid twice for one singular exam) I had my own frames so I was awaiting for them to be ready. Admittedly I was very skeptical because the exam was less than 5 minutes and not as thorough as the standard 10-15min eye exam. Alas, I received the call and went in for my glasses. The doctor (same one I seen) and front desk woman were moving and talking to other people amongst where the frame selections are. Once the front desk woman was ready she came over to assist me. I had contacts on when I arrived and after some reluctance from the front desk woman I was provided a case to take them out and put on my glasses. I'm not certain why but the glasses were super dirty with smudges and dust residue on both sides. The woman cleaned them off and when I put them on they were very difficult to see through. I felt a light headache and I let her know immediately. She reassured me that it was the correct prescription but I mentioned the eye exam wasn't thorough and I felt worried because my view felt very weak. As we are discussing, the doctor comes to where we are and rather than addressing me he only spoke to front desk woman saying he did everything correctly and offered no solution nor spoke to me mind you she's behind the desk and he's literally right next me on the other side and didn't acknowledge AT ALL. So, the woman offers me a date two weeks out and then after I said I needed them sooner offered a closer date. Absolutely insulted with being talked at, I requested a different doctor but was told that I'd have to wait even longer as they're only available on Fridays. Once I went home I looked online and found it can take a few days for my eyes to adjust to my glasses being that I've strictly worn contacts for about two years straight. I canceled this upcoming appointment and will follow up elsewhere. I was severely disappointed with the way the doctor offered no resolution nor even spoke to me and instead took it personal that his singular double eye exam didn't work. I would think a person so experienced would be more open to assist. I certainly would consider looking for a business that has a more thorough and diligent doctor. Especially if you are going to charge twice for one exam. read more

I get my glasses from these folks, and they do a good job. They've got a decent selection of frames that are covered by my insurance, and the woman at the front desk is very pleasant. I've only seen Dr. Mendel once, and it was 2 years ago (luckily, my prescription hasn't changed since!), but from what I remember, he was nice. Hooray for them for keeping me able to see! read more

Amazing, friendly staff and great prices! I had a valid prescription from a different optometrist, and Mendel upgraded my lenses for me without requiring me to have another eye exam at their store. While I was in the store picking up my glasses, I accidentally dropped a contact lense and Mendel gave me a new one right away! read more
