Got a free estimate scheduled quickly then we kept having to reschedule the work due to the weather. Erick remained patient, answered every question I had, and the work was completed exactly when he said it would be. We had our back patio redone and it came out perfect. Contractor made an appt to come out to give an estimate. Wife gave him the address and when he was scheduled to show up he sent a text saying he was at the house. Not at the house. Asked him what he was driving because there was a black dodge pickup pulled up at a house down the street so we were pretty sure it was him but he told us he was driving a 4 runner which is not the same. Then she saw a gentleman walking down the street looking at mailboxes. Sure enough it was him! When he got inside we told him what we wanted done and he spent about ten minutes looking at the kitchen and did a few measurements. We had indicated we also wanted flooring done for the kitchen and the living room to match the kitchen. Never measured either room. Told us he would send an estimate in about two hours and left. Watched him leave and sure enough he got in the Dodge pickup and left! Never received anything from them. Do not trust someone that doesn't know what they are driving and they don't bother to get measurements. read more

He informed me he was at Home Depot and would arrive by 8 a.m. However, by 8:15, there was still no word, so I contacted him again. Mendez Masonry was the middle ground quote we received. They did an excellent job, and quite quickly. we had them repair a low block wall that had been bumped by a car, knocking a few blocks nearly completely off, and creating an 8-block-long crack. They actually improved the structure by adding rebar that had not been installed by the original builder. We did all negotiations via text and photographs, and didn't even see them until they turned up to do the work. We were very satisfied. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because I do think the price was a bit steep for barely 2 hours work ( though perhaps I am penalizing them for their speed, which is silly, and there was someone who quoted fully a third higher, and another who quoted a quarter lower.) I would definitely use them again, but if it weren't covered by insurance, I think I'd have seen if they could do a bit better on price and still be happy to have the job.
