I love to explore and this site came up on Yelp when looking for things to do close to Pokagon State Park. It did not disappoint. The facility was a few miles from the Park. It's a short drive from the highway or Angola and just outside of Fremont. Nothing too far. The entrance was well marked and to her to the site you drive down a long graveled lane. There is ample parking just outside the gift shop which connects to a small cafe that serves Buffalo burgers with chips. There are restrooms located close to the parking lot which make it very convenient. A wood chipped walkway leads to the gift shop entrance where tickets can be purchased for a bumpy truck trailer ride into the field. There riders are just feet or inches away from the bison herd. It is evident the staff love their work and the animals they care for and/ or support. From the young, pleasant gentlemen in the gift shop who ran to ensure we didn't miss the last tour, to the cafe attendant who upon request gave free apples to young attendees, to our guide, "Three Paws", who lovingly answered all questions and provided detailed information about the bison. The relationships between everyone was friendly and familial-like. The star of the show; however, are the bison. Getting to see this once endangered animals up close and personal is rare. Knowing the part they played in history took me back to a time long ago. It is obvious the owner recognizes their importance and is doing his part to preserve it. Kudos to him and his staff. This is a cute and very reasonable priced place to stay right on the lake…read more We originally were going to stay in a suite, not a cabin. But when we arrived there had been a mixup with housekeeping, and the room had not been cleaned. They had first said they would send housekeeping right away, then offered to upgrade us to a cabin. The cabin was quite nice, and the bed was very comfortable. The only difference was the suite included bath towels. In the cabins you had to bring your own, so there were no towels. But that was OK, because we had brought bath towels, not quite understanding the website. Great value for the money, and I would definitely come back here again.

Each had their own approach, but the new owners are really taking this place in the right direction. The cabins have all been given a facelift without sacrificing the feel of a lake side cabin. One of our favorite things are the pontoon boats that you can rent by the day or for your whole stat. On our very first visit we experienced the joys of Nibbles, a small eatery/ice cream shop on the property. The new owners have aggressive plans to revive this sweet spot which will surely be a favorite stop for all who live on the lake! You will not be disappointed in this cute little gem of a property just minutes from downtown Colon, Michigan (which is also accessible via boat!) The town is host to several great restaurants as well as some awesome magic shows! The salon in town is a welcome stop if you forgot to get your toenails painted before you arrived! Treat yourself to a weekend (or a week) on the lake at Palmer Lake Lodges!!

Dennis and Ron are consummate professionals who executed our event seamlessly. From the beginning, they were responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The inclusive nature of the venue made wedding planning relatively stress free - we just needed to handle the cake and photographer. The food, florals, DJ, decor, etc. were all handled through Beiger - and they were all fantastic. The food was definitely a highlight for our guests! Dennis did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly on the day of the wedding. The mansion is stunning inside and out, which made for amazing photos and ambiance. You can tell how much thought was put into the appearance of every room. Members of our family and bridal party stayed there for a few days and loved it. It was such a beautiful place to start our marriage. Dennis and Ron were so delightful to work with. We wholeheartedly recommend them for any event -- especially a wedding!

It's homey, but it has amazing character; the owners- Ron and Dennis- have created such a beautifully designed inn with antiques, historical pieces and artwork. The breakfasts were sumptuous and filling, and the rooms were so uniquely designed. Each one was different and looked like something out of the Victorian era. Our room was quite large, with a sitting area, large bathroom with a standalone tub and shower, and a cozy fireplace. We couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend the Beiger. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it...
