Thanks to a Yelp event I was able to discover this hidden gem. I've been here TWICE since then to try a few different types and ALLLLLL of them have been BEYOND. We have tried the Beni, Jefa, traditional, hot Cheetos and my personal favorite the Ruffles. CREAMY, HOT CORN w/ savory ingredients. At this rate, you'd never get bored. They've been here 5 years and will definitely be on my weekly radar! Though a small cup could absolutely fill you up (priced around 5-5.50), I do recommend medium and large if 2+ are snacking. The cajeta's are pretty standard and so is the ice cream, but a good add on if you find the corn is too spicy. They do have certain cold treats that I'm hoping to try during my next few visits. The interior is CLEAN, pretty spacious for small parties and they have affordable catering options too! You can't go wrong having an elote party! (Just invite me too!) I've seen the owner in there every time I've been and he's SUPER kind and offers helpful recommendations based on what you want out of your treat. Don't sleep on this place, you are TRULY missing out.

I am definitely ordering this as a meal next time! Everything else on their menu is fantastic! I had the quesadilla this time and was surprised it's not your typical flat quesadilla. These are fried tortillas with the fixings of a quesadilla. Mouth watering, crispy and melt in your mouth meat! This place always is a great choice!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a more polished atmosphere than I expected. We were seated quickly, and our waitress was excellent--friendly, attentive, and especially kind and accommodating with our kids throughout the entire meal. I originally wanted to order the barbacoa, but our plans changed when we tried modifying the kids' meals. We asked about adding picadillo to their bean and cheese tacos and substituting fruit for the rice and beans. We were told adding meat would be $4 per taco and fruit would be another $6, which would have more than doubled the price of the kids' meals. Rather than doing that, I ordered the one-pound fajitas with chicken and Wagyu beef so we'd have plenty of extra protein to share with the kids. The kitchen was pretty slow, but thankfully the chips were excellent and they kept them coming. The salsa was served warm with a nice amount of heat, and my oldest son absolutely loved it. In fact, the chips were apparently too good. Between the long wait and unlimited chips, my 7-year-old managed to eat enough of them that he eventually threw up. That's entirely on him--not the restaurant--but perhaps the strongest endorsement of the chips I can offer. My wife ordered the sangria swirl margarita and enjoyed it, although we were surprised by how few flavored margarita options were available. I went with a mezcal cocktail that was delicious, well balanced, and definitely wasn't shy on the alcohol. Once the fajitas finally arrived, they were excellent. The Wagyu beef came out medium rare exactly as requested, and both the beef and chicken were flavorful and well prepared. Ordering the larger portion also worked out nicely for sharing with the kids. Overall, we'd come back, although probably more readily for an adults-only dinner. The food, cocktails, atmosphere, and especially our waitress were all excellent, and the staff was genuinely kind to our children. The biggest drawback for a family meal was the lack of flexibility with the kids' menu. Some reasonably priced à la carte options or easier substitutions would make this a much better choice for families.

Wow! If I could give Tacos Don Manolito 10 stars I definitely would…read more Tacos Don Manolito (TDM) are authentic Mexican tacos from the center of the country (Mexico City/Puebla region). Here in Texas we usually only get Mexican food from the north part of Mexico, which sometimes ends up just being Tex-Mex food. However if you are wondering why these tacos are different from the north of Mexico? It is all in the ingredients. TDM serves meat like longaniza and cecina that are NOT served in the northern part of the country. These items are super rare to find and even if you find them, the quality is usually pretty bad. However TDM meat quality is outstanding which makes their tacos so flavorful and delicious. For my first time visiting I decided to keep it classic and only order tacos. I got one taco de cecina, another of cecina with longaniza and one arrachera. The cecina was exactly like the one I used to have back home with my family in Mexico City. Cecina is a salty meat so I recommend using their darker salsa (I think is from chile pasilla, but might be wrong) to help offset some of the saltiness and bring out new flavours. The longaniza was also delicious and not greasy at all. However my favorite taco was the arrachera. It was so full of flavour and I could have eaten like 10 of those and live happy for the rest of my life. Last but not least, TDM is not cheap. They are using high quality ingredients which obviously means more money. So if you are looking for some cheap tacos these are must definitely not it. However I think they are worth every penny!
