First massage that actually relieved my back and neck tension! The Swedish massage was great and a lot of focus on the back.

It was the first day in several months the full remodeled facility was open. I was expecting a vastly different experience due to how long the remodel took. It was clean and more minimalist decor than before. I preferred the round lounge chairs in the communal sanctuary, rather than the two couches that were pressed against the wall... like they were in time out in a dental office. The steam room was new, but eucalyptus smell was overpowering. I thought perhaps it was a cleaning chemical. After reading the description, this was the intended smell. The sauna was new and very nice. As far as the service went. It was average. We have never had massages that started at the feet. This is where a massage usually ends. It started at the feet and moved up the legs. Then from the shoulders to lower back. It felt like tension was left in the middle of the body rather than a head to toe flow. No work on the gluteus mussels. Customers are paying for the use of the facilities. If you are looking for an average massage, and a day of escape and relaxing at an exorbitant cost. This is the place for you.

My masseuse Antoinette asked me which area I wanted her to focus on, and I said my shoulders. She asked if I worked on a computer (I said yes); then she tried to talk me into changing from my swedish massage to deep tissue massage for $10 more. I told her I didn't like deep tissue and she tried to convince me that "we're not going to put you in pain". After this, when she was selecting the massage oils, she also tried to upsell me on a more expensive oil option. And then when she finally worked on me, it felt like the pressure just wasn't strong enough, and the whole time I'm thinking it was because she wanted me to upgrade to a deep tissue. Very disappointing. Is it worth the price, I don't think so.

Yes! It was amazing and clean!! I appreciate the amenities…read more(salt room, dry sauna, steam room, clean showers, clean locker room). I also appreciate that they push to turn off or silence phones. Unplugging is the way to go when visiting these types of facilities. Also, the massages were fantastic - I got the deep tissue massage and I felt like a new woman after. My boyfriend also felt the same way. I teased him after about him making noises when getting a massage lol. He very much enjoyed it as this was a birthday present for him! We will definitely be doing this as a ritual every 3 to 4 months! Note: the only issue I had was parking - extremely hard to find parking. We recommend that you come at least 1 hour before your appointment, not only because of the parking issue, it also gives you ample time to enjoy the extra amenities that I listed above which comes with every service you book for.

Review for Immersion Spa ‍…read more I absolutely loved this place, and to this day, I still miss it. When I lived in the Bay Area, I was a faithful and loyal customer at Immersion. It became one of my favorite self-care rituals. I would bring family and friends, and I went regularly--about once every quarter. It was something I always looked forward to. There is currently no Korean spa in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I live now, and the closest option is in Atlanta. So yes... boo-hoo. Nothing quite compares to this experience. What made Immersion special was the sense of freedom and relaxation the moment you walked through the door. The spa is thoughtfully organized, very clean, and beautifully maintained. You store your belongings in secure lockers, receive a waterproof wristband, and then the entire experience begins. I always arrived at least 90 minutes before my massage so I could fully enjoy the amenities. That extra time was part of the magic. My favorite features included: * The hot tub and invigorating cold plunge * The wet sauna and dry sauna * The gentle, calming warmth of the Himalayan salt room * Complimentary roasted tea and water * High-quality bath and shower products in the women's area * A peaceful, well-run environment with clear structure and cleanliness standards Everything felt intentional and relaxing. My go-to service was always the Fusion massage, which blends shiatsu and deep tissue techniques using organic coconut oil. The therapists were incredibly skilled and intuitive--they knew exactly how to work out tension and restore balance. Some of the best massages I've ever had were here. Over the years, prices have increased slightly--as they have everywhere. I remember paying around $100 before COVID, and later seeing it closer to $130. Even so, the value of the experience made it worth every dollar. I was there hook, line, and sinker. A few practical notes for future guests: * Parking is limited and shared with neighboring businesses (including Kumon), so timing matters * The spa has separate men's and women's areas * No outside shoes are allowed inside the spa * Clothing is optional in designated areas, which is standard for Korean spa culture * Plan to arrive early to fully enjoy the amenities before your service One service I personally never tried was the traditional Korean body scrub. I watched others experience it, and while many people love it, it looked a little too intense for my taste. That said, the massages and spa amenities are absolutely exceptional. If you're considering a membership, it's worth exploring. This is the kind of place that becomes part of your routine once you experience it. I still haven't found anything in the Southeast that truly matches the level of service, atmosphere, and overall experience of Immersion. I keep looking--but this one set the bar very high. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

I convinced one of my friend to join me and she was also very hesitant but we were brave and did it, and both of us want to do it again. Once you get over your shyness you'll be okay. I came here after work. We booked a service-brown sugar bliss + coconut-70 min for $150. With the service, you have the full use of the facility. They have hot tube, cold pool, wet & dry Sauna, massage chair- can use for 30 min for free. And they serve food inside. You can literally spend the entire day here. I wish we did. We had such an amazing experience. After our body scrub, our skin never felt so soft. They clean you so good. I wanna do this quarterly.

Once we paid and given key to lockers and 3 towels (1 large & 2 small), we locked up our shoes (only) in the lockers to the right of the front desk. Then headed inside to grab a pair of slippers from the shelves to the left (don't grab the ones in the basket on floor which are for used slippers). Then head upstairs to the locker rooms to change and store your things to the same numbered locker. Also, grab a pair of shorts from the shelves in there. The room with massage chairs is nice if you can find a good chair. The first massage chair I tried was perfect for my needs because I have neck and shoulder issues recently but the massage chair I have at home doesn't even reach my neck and only somewhat knead my shoulders and massages whole body. This chair (where the display controller is mounted on right and has a "neck & shoulder" function) was able to focus only on the neck and even up the back of head and down to the shoulder and shoulder blades areas only (pull out the padding behind the head area if you don't feel much happening). Some of the chairs did seem worn down and torn up but many were in good shape as well. Downstairs is the 3 Jade, Clay, and Salt rooms including an Ice room. No slippers inside rooms so place slippers on the shoe racks outside. Be extra careful going inside the clay room. There are handrails to help you get in and out because the clay balls are actually a few inches deep and very slippery and it's kind of like you're stepping into quicksand. My friends did the body scrub while I did the massage. I don't know if all masseuses massage the same way there but I did not know that the massage included being stepped on. I am a very petite gal and Gina was a bit bigger than me. It wasn't just stepping with one foot but with both! I don't know how much of her entire weight was on me because there were two ropes hanging for her to hold onto but I felt like I was being tortured during the 10-15 minute that she was on me. I can understand if the client is much bigger and so you need your full weight to get enough pressure, but I am only just around 100 lbs, petite, and asked for medium pressure and was still stepped on. After that massage, certain spots around my back and pelvis (boney spots) seemed as if they were bruised cause they hurt with even just touch. She handed me an envelope afterwards for tips. I still tipped her but I don't think I would get a massage there again due to that experience. Maybe if you are a bigger build or get a different masseuse you might enjoy it. Overall, her massage was not all that useful, or even if it was, the stepping on undid it by giving me a traumatic experience. But there were a few times I thought what she was doing didn't seem like it did anything. If I hadn't gotten the massage, I would have given 5 stars because the facility and front desk staff I encountered were great (I asked front desk about adding massage and she was very friendly and helpful and immediately was able to book the massage for the earliest opening a few hours later), but I had to take a star off just for my experience with that masseuse. Would go back to the spa to unwind and relax, but I will most likely not get massage there again.
