I appreciate the clear and simple system online for booking a massage in advance. Received multiple email and text reminders about my appointment, too. Plenty of free parking lots and street parking nearby (street parking limited to 2 hours from 9-6pm, except Sundays and holidays)... I parked right in front of the entrance on a Sunday afternoon. Got the combo massage (30 min foot, 30 minute body) which was $50 + $5 additional charge for credit card payment. It was more like 10 minutes on the feet and 50 minutes on the rest of the body. This massage was half clothed. My masseuse had me remove my top and wear a spa wrap garment, covering my upper body but open on the back. The shared massage room had four beds total with curtains that could separate the individual spaces to make them more private. The environment was dimly lit with soothing melodies playing in the background. The pressure during my treatment was good, on the strong side as requested, with the use of hot stones, heated pads, and ashiatsu. I was surprised to find they do back walking in the shared room, but I don't mind a variety of techniques being used as long as it's effective. I honestly don't need all the extras (like burning stones and fancy coverings), just a simple massage focused on loosening my knots. And my masseuse did that for the most part, though she was more successful when using her elbows and forearms. Staff was friendly here too, even with limited communication. Got mixed feedback about this location, so I wanted to try it out for myself. Had a bit of foot pain in my right foot, so was hoping a foot massage would help. Upon entering I was greeted immediately and my appointment was at 10 which is the time they open, so I had to wait for a few minutes which is fine as they finish setting up. I got the full body and foot massage. Once my appointment started I walked through the curtain into a big open room which had several other tables and that's where I got my massage. They have you put your feet in a little tub of hot water and then I had to take my shirt off and then the masseuse put a sheet over my upper body as she started massaging .This went on for several minutes before I laid down and started the full massage. It wasn't the best experience overall as people were walking back and forth through the room and was talking really loud and was basically stomping through the room. On top of that there was construction going on which felt like above us and there was jack hammering going on while I was getting my massage. And then to top it off a fly was landing on my face in the middle of the massage and I kept moving my face to shew the fly away which the masseuse had no clue why I kept moving. The massage was mediocre at best, but the stretching was really good. When I was leaving the masseuse yelled out to the receptionist in their native language and then the receptionist stopped me and asked for a tip, which I did. Not a place I'd return to. Don't be fooled by the proverbial hole-in-the-wall appearance of this spot. All of the ladies who give massages have their own technique but all are well-versed, and provide a professional service. There are multiple private rooms for body massages as well as foot spa stations. They also provide couples massages. The private rooms have bars suspended from the ceiling to assist the ladies when they walk on your back, should you require/ask for a deeper tissue massage. They are quite accommodating with pressure. Massages include warm oil, hot stones, warm towels. The tables are comfortable. The staff are pleasant. And water is offered at the end of your treatment. First, you're required to pay upfront, and there's a lot of pressure to tip, people need to understand that tipping is optional and should reflect the quality of service received. Additionally, there's a $5 credit card fee per service, so because I had two services, I was charged an extra $10, which didn't sit well with me. As for the massage itself, I didn't enjoy it. It felt like the guy used his elbow for the majority of the session, which was uncomfortable. I also wasn't a fan of the headrest that was placed in between of the table rather than attached, which I find less comfortable. The prices seem reasonable. After the massage they pressure you to leave a $25-$40 tip. Thant's about half or over half of what the actual massage cost.. The massage is cheaper than most massage because you're in a room with other people, To get to the bathroom you walk past massage beds with people who are exposed down to half buttocks. There are no thrills, bells or whistles, The massage is pretty rough too , a lot of elbows in your back. If you want to charge more offer more. If you give in and pay the tip they are pressuring you to give , you're basically paying close to the same price you would get at a regular massage establishment with , better accommodations and service. There is no need to feel guilty telling them NO to their tipping fees. They get paid what the offer the same as you as the client get what you paid for. If the prices they are charging don't allow them to pay their staff enough it is not up to the customers to do that, Even if you have a good massage experience, feeling like you're being pressured to be scammed ruins the experience.. read more

I got a full body massage recently and it was pretty good, she really went up my muscles hard which I didn't like much but it was my fault cause I didn't say anything LOL its hard for me to speak up when I'm facing down so next time I'll probably request something light. My back is a bit sore the day after and it hurts a little but i'm thinking its just cause I never got a deep massage like that before, I didn't even though what kind I was getting as they didn't ask beforehand but it felt like deep tissue which is fine, I would just ask next time to have it be done lightly. I've been coming to Happy Feet for over a decade now and I'm glad they haven't moved from Mountain View! Since their initial opening I believe they've gone under new management who's remodeled the place by adding private rooms and added variations to their services. From all the other bay area reflexology services I have to say Happy Feet is my personal favorite. They've always been consistent with the quality, professionalism and flexibility. Although their prices have increased since their initial opening I truly believe their prices are fair for the quality of the massages provided. I've tried the body/feet combo which was fine, but nothing truly beats their expertise in reflexology. I'm always so relaxed and always fall asleep during the treatments. I'm also glad they added a 30 minute service for those of us who want a quick foot treatment but have time constraints. When I want to truly indulge, I'll get the 90 minute service :) The masseuses work very hard and skills are on par with other professionals. I've also at times gone to the Palo Alto location. Last time I went to PA, they were so flexible and friendly in letting my friend bring in her dog and the masseuses even fed him water! Street parking is available around downtown Mountain View. The massage parlor is in an open room with a dozen or so "stations" featuring a massage "bed" along with an ottoman. The massage starts off with a lukewarm foot bath while the therapist does a strong shoulder and neck massage. The majority of the session was face down on the massage "bed" including hot stones and stretches. The massage itself was quite thorough going from the arms, shoulders, back, legs, and calves. The last part for massage was the foot massage which was probably 5-10 minutes at most. I asked the lady to change, she was visibly upset and told me that it was a new one even I shown her the hair. She left the room and came back twice wondering why I did not undress. Now it's $75. $80 if you use a credit card. I came in today expecting the foot massage to be $50. But nope. What I wanted is now called a combo massage. They should say what the massage includes. I didn't know it changed names. So sad I did not get what I expected. I ended up paying $65 (tip is asked to be paid in advance when using a credit card) for a mediocre massage that didn't include the back. Well, it's too bad to say it'll be my last time here. They expect you to tip 30-40% ?? I came here a couple months ago with my partner, and the massages were great, the service was great, and the prices were really good. Our massages then were 45 each. I tipped 10$ to each masseuse which is about 20%. I came back recently and the prices had changed. It was a 5 dollar difference so i thought it wasn't a big deal. Once I was finished, I was at the front desk paying and I tried to tip my masseuse 8 dollars in cash (15%). He looked at me shocked and just kept saying "no no no" and then the masseuse and the receptionist pointed me to sign that read, "gratuity guide". I have a bit of social anxiety and didn't read the sign well, I just panicked in that moment and gave him 5 more dollars making my tip 13 dollars (25%). The masseuse and the receptionist started LAUGHING at me making me feel very embarrassed and self conscious because apparently i STILL was not tipping them enough. I took the money out of his hand and just handed him a 20, I turned around and walked out as fast as I could. After taking a minute or two to myself, I ran back in and managed to take a picture of the sign. I cannot believe i was being pressured into paying a 40% TIP. This place has become my new go-to spot for decompressing after a stressful month or after being sore from anything remotely physical. As of early 2022, the 1-hour "back-and-foot" massage is $40 per hour, which is a pretty good deal. I put those terms in quotes because it includes upper and lower back, feet, legs, arms, hands, neck, and face. They also use lotion and add in hot stones. The spa is kept quiet with dim lighting, and they play gentle, ambient music to lull you into deep relaxation. The staff is very respectful and polite. They're super professional and don't chat at all, which helps clients drift off without distraction. Depending on who you get, the techniques used can be slightly different. Everyone has their preferences of pressure and technique, so it's good to ask for the massage therapist's name after you find the one that fits your needs. Note: It's good to give at least $10 tip if you liked your massage. They keep prices low here relative to many other places, so good to give back to thank your massage therapist, especially during these times. I had tight hamstrings and a little muscle soreness from working out, but that all melted away after my massage. Mae really got into my muscles and loosened them up! She was thoughtful abs considerate, checking in to ensure the pressure was right - and was it ever! Don't let her diminutive size fool you, she's able to really dig in if you want. Made an appointment for 4pm. I arrived at 4:02pm and a lady was checking out a man. She did not talk to me when I arrived. I waited over 35 mins and made myself known to workers that I'm there and needing assistance. There was another couple waiting too but they left because the wait was long I guess. However, I got the best masseuse last night. I asked for someone strong and this literally had to be the strongest woman reflexologist I have ever had. Out of the handful of cheap Chinese foot/body massage places I've tried in the San Jose area, the hour I got from Tina here was probably the best treatment. Pros: -$30/hour for "foot" massage. This is actually a full body massage which starts sitting up with feet soaking in very hot water for 10-15 min. while they work on your shoulders/back. -Quiet: so glad the masseuses didn't chat with each other while working alongside each other like I've experienced elsewhere. I didn't hear any of the other masseuses chatting with their clients, and they have signs posted at each massage table that it's a quiet zone. Cons: -Workers likely get paid very little based on the low cost of the massage and the sign posted at the front desk to tip at least $10. No joke! Given they work hard, probably get paid little, and don't get a break between clients, tip more than $10 if you like your massage. Consider it like leveling up to fair pay. read more
