Such a disappointing experience. I took them two shirts my Husband needed for a trip. Both white. When I picked them up on the way to the airport the one hanging in the front was clearly still dirty. Michael (the owner) apologized and said he would re-clean it. I went to the car to pack the other white shirt....and sure enough it was also still dirty. I went back in to show him and he was clearly embarrassed. I took it on the trip b/c we were attending a "white party" and I had to show up with at least one white shirt. (Of course my Husband did not want to wear a dirty shirt to a party so we bought a new one $150-awesome). So upon our return I took the shirt back to Michael, along with a jacket and two dresses of mine. He was kind and said he was so sorry for the shirts not being cleaned properly and I said I was willing to give them a 2nd chance b/c we were/are new to the area and everyone deserves a 2nd chance. He thanked me and said "This is all on me, I will note it in the file so there is no problem when you pick up." I was IMPRESSED and glad to be giving it a 2nd go. Well I came back to pick up the items and the woman rang me up for $50. I explained that it was to be covered. She said no. I said I would come back when Michael was working, but she called Michael and in the end I spoke to him on the phone. He said I must have misunderstood and what was "on him" was re-cleaning the white shirt I HAD ALREADY paid for! I told him that was the craziest thing I had ever heard of and in the end he agreed to give me 50% off...but that took some doing. Fine. BUT one of my dresses was still being "worked" on. I said I would just pay when I came back for all of it later. So I come back later and a young man, David, explains to me "Michael would never have told you this was free, we don't do that." Ok. FIne. I misunderstood. We have established this earlier. So he rings me up-$50. WHAT? No, Michael said 1/2 off. So David essentially calls me a liar a 2nd time "He most certainly did not." Umm, yes he did, ask that gal over there. They have a conversation in their language...and then he waves her off and says "I'll just do it to be done with you!" (My guess is he did it because she confirmed what Michael had agreed to). So then he tells me my total is $34. Hmmm....after another go-around he agrees that is not half and alters it to a lower number. Then he shows me that the stains on my dress that they could not get out. So I check the other dress, sure enough-also still dirty. So in the end they made $25, lost a customer and gained a TON of bad PR. I have to say the negative reviews on this establishment are not consistent with my experience. I have been taking shirts (and some dry cleaning) there for more than three years and we have found the quality high and the service uniformly excellent. The prices are on the high side but consistent with downtown Palo Alto and the location is very convenient if you live in central Menlo Park. In terms of honesty, I had forgotten to check my pockets in my shirt and I left a "substantial" amount of cash in a pocket. I received a call within 10 minutes of dropping my shirts off at the dry cleaner and the young lady called indicating that I had left money in my clothes. Very impressive. read more

Totally fine. The prices seemed comparable with other places I've been in the area, it's conveniently located, and my clothes came back in good shape, though there admittedly weren't any stains on them in the first place. The service was a little brusque and the woman behind the counter seemed a distracted, but she was quick and well organized. A nice in and out experience. read more

I tried this place once and will not go back. As a first time customer of Menlo Park Cleaners, my experience was poor. The prices for dry cleaning are extraordinarily high (about double that of comparable companies in the area), and the pricing structure wasn't very clear. Nothing was explained, and the service was pretty slow. It took about 3 business days to get 3 items done. A dress costs about $15 whereas at other places it would only be $9 and pants are almost $10 whereas at other places, they can be cleaned for $5. read more

This place is the definition of crooks. Somehow they have a decent review on google, so my husband ended up dropping off our laundry. He asked if they did wash and fold services and the lady said they did and stated prices were reasonable. A week later, he picks up the clothes with a $250.00 bill. What on earth is reasonable about $250.00??? I definitely understand how each cotton t-shirt was a $9.00 effort, I'm sure it was a really challenging process. If you are going to charge astronomical prices, you typically let the customer know before hand. Lesson learned, will stay very far from this place. I don't usually write reviews, but this is the best dry cleaner in town. I have been taking all my work clothes here for the past few years because it is on the way home from my work. The workers take good care of my clothes and made sure none of my dress shirts were missing buttons before handing over my dry cleaning. They take their time inspecting each garment to make sure no stain is left behind. I trust them with all my expensive clothes from YSL jeans to Gucci polos, I know they will take good care of it! Last week I dropped off my polo to be dry clean on Wednesday afternoon and I needed it back by Friday to wear to an event and they were able to rush it for me and had it ready for pick up by Friday morning. They go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy and satisfied every time! The pricing is a little higher than other places, but you pay for what you get, I don't mind paying a little more knowing my clothes are well taken care of! read more

I really adored the person who helped me - I'm not sure if it was Michael the owner. Such a lovely man, kind and friendly. He did a great job on a few items. The only reason this place didn't get 5 full stars is due to the terribly expensive pricing. It's cheaper to get your stuff done in Manhattan! I would go there in a pickle, because they did a good job, and they were friendly, but the prices are crazy. read more

If I could give a 0 star review, I would! Had to pay $28 For my jacket to be cleaned and was in same condition as it was when I dropped it off. She didn't offer a discount or anything. So ridiculous and crappy to treat customers this way. Go elsewhere so you don't get ripped off! read more
