In the beginning, the restaurant was great with great food! But now, it's not so great. I tried the grilled shrimp dish with soft flour tortillas with it. You get 15 fairly sized shrimp, but you only get two tortillas. The dish itself is fairly large, with rice, beans, grilled onions, cheese and sour cream! You have to pay extra for two more tortillas. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and it was absolutely gross!!! They added potatoes and bacon to it which wasn't in the menu description. I pointed this out to my waitress (after it took her 15 minutes to check after the food was brought out to the table), and she shrugged her shoulders and said, "My manager is out today." Saturday June 17, 2023 Visited your location on clear creek killeen texas. My husband,  my self,  our son, in law daughter, And our 2 grandchildren went to eat.  As we were pulling up around 7:30ish pm, I noticed a lady complaining about her food in the drive thru and they're was literally no cars parked outside, but we went in anyway.  ( that alone is very strange for your locations.) We get seated and informed the waitress that we needed lots of chips,  salsa,  and limes. She brought out 1 bowl of chips and 1 bowl of salsa for 6 people, really? Then she took our order and we asked for more chips and salsa, it took a little while for her to return with chips and salsa and no limes like we asked for twice before. Then they brought 1 plate at a time instead of all together. We ordered a beer and a margarita on the rocks, no salt.  The beer was hot and my margarita had sugar in it.  Almost like a limeade with everclear in it. Not a good taste at all. When I ordered my mini taquito plate, I asked for a side of shredded cheese, which she didn't bring.  So I waited for everyone to get their food and me to get my cheese.  After she finally had everyone's plate out, then she brought my cheese.  My plate was a little cooled off, waiting on everything and everyone else food to get the table.   As I stated to make my mini taquitos, there was a strange item on the plate that the onions covered up.  It looked like a huge chunk of fat. So I called the waitress over to look at it and told her I wanted a new plate since no one really knew what it was on my plate. She took it back and then the so called manager brought me the same plate back, told me it was a chunk of fat from the fajitas, and the preceeded to tell me it was ok to eat.  When I told her,  I wanted a new plate because it was cold and I didn't want to eat something that I didn't know what it was in the middle of my plate.  Then that manager told me she would take it back,  but charge us for another plate because they was nothing wrong with my original plate. I told her I wanted a new plate that was hot.  Then we never saw your staff again.  No refills,  no ticket, no nothing.   And while we were there,  there were 2 other complaints and a couple that got up and left because they didn't get waited on.   The waitress name is Ame C And your manager on duty name is Katie We will never go back to that restaurant, EVER!!! We asked the man if we could get more red salsa instead of the green salsa due to us not liking the green and he said why don't you like the green ? Like does that matter dude ? Move over Taco Bell(the #1 rated Mexican restaurant in the US). I was a little cautious at first because of the reviews but man oh man it was slamming. My wife and kids had chicken quesadillas while I had the beef chalupa(same thing I get from Taco Bell). All the food was fresh and hot. They got the order right; no mix ups. The customer service people previously complained about wasn't bad, wasn't great. On another note I am not an expert on Mexican cuisine( I eat Taco Bell and I had tacos from a food truck once). So I love coming here, we had the best experiences and our daughters first beans were their refried beans! but sadly our last few purchases have been awful quality. The fries used to be so awesome ! Season curly fries, but today we got some and they we're definitely cooked in rancid oil. The worst color and flavor . I had to literally spit it out I couldn't stomach a single bit. Also the last time I ordered the chicken tortilla soup for my daughter the chicken was so over cooked and shredded super tiny yet had shards of bones all through it. Breakfast tacos are awesome. I'll stop by two or three times a month after dropping my son off at school. The spicy shrimp platter is really good too. I don't know what the first reviewer was expecting, but her assessment was way off. Meños is one of the few Mexican restaurants in Killeen that is actually worth going to, and now that they've opened a branch on a Clear Creek, I expect to eat there a lot more often. They might have a smaller menu than some places, but the quality of food is amazing. I have never had an issue with the service in any of their restaurants, and that alone says a lot. Thanks for opening this branch, guys! If I could make one suggestion, it would be to offer a larger selection of beers on draft. Their drink selection is otherwise pretty good. read more

Me and my boyfriend have only ever went for their breakfast burritos and breakfast tacos, but every time either one of us would go, the customer service was top tier and they're very open to help clear any confusion about the menu. The only con to the food service would be that sometimes there's an excess amount of grease in the food and it overrides the flavor of the dish.
