We had a $57 and some change bill. My fiance added a $10.00 tip. When it his his account, it was $87 when it should have been $67. He called and asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager available. He then asked about his tip being changed and was hung up on. He tried to call back and got no answer. Took one star because my husband and I went in to have drinks at the bar one evening and no one came to wait on us or bartend so that was disappointing. Everything we get is always so good! We've had the tacos... great. Steak quesadillas... great. Cheese quesadillas... my daughter's favorite. She loves their rice and is very picky on rice. Queso is good but ADD the green sauce to their queso and it's another flavor profile! Breakfast tacos are also great. We usually do call in service and it's a quick 10-15 minute pickup. This place was really good when it first opened. The decor at the restaurant is great. However last time we came in the whole atmosphere sucked. All the servers were gathered at a table hanging out. I felt like they were annoyed that we came in. No one welcomed us or recommended anything. We had to wait awkwardly for a few minutes to be seated. Even though there was no one else at the restaurant, the servers kept on with their conversation at their table. The server was annoyed we didn't know exactly what we wanted right away. Found this little gem inside of a travel stop gas station in Killeen. Lovely waitstaff that seated us & promptly brought drinks & chips & salsa. Very tasty salsa too! Ask for the green sauce.. it's spicy !! We both ordered tacos ala carte, and all were good! My only complaint is that there was little to no pineapple in the pastor. The place is beautifully decorated, and it makes you feel like you're in Mexico! Give this place a try.. prices are good, and people are friendly!! read more

First time to eat here. I ordered coffee which is on the drink menu with my meal. Was told the coffee was old from the morning and they quit making coffee at Noon each day, this being around 5:30 pm. I asked why it is on the drink menu all day? Was given a little attitude by the person that seemed to be in charge then and not to friendly. Not a pleasant first-time experience to begin our meal with. The waitress serving us was great. Will not return. read more

This is one of those crazy places that you drive by a thousand times and never think about stopping by to eat. But on my last visit to Killeen, I ate there three separate times, and each experience was really good! It sits in a gas station strip center on the outskirts of K-town, and you really don't think much about it, but once inside the owners did a real nice job with the interior finish with a full-blown wooden bar and hand painted murals... and oh yeah, the food is good as well! Your basic taqueria kind of stuff, but well done. They even have menudo everyday which is always fun bonus. I wish I would have taken pictures, next time I will! read more

Tried Mi Ranchito Mex Grill when driving down to Austin based on reviews. The atmosphere and waitress were really nice, and the guacamole appetizer was great. Where this miss the mark was if you order anything with Fajita meat on it. According to the waitress, you get 3 small slices of meat if you get it with Enchiladas, and if you order fajitas, you get 3 to 4 slices. The slices were about the length of a frozen mozzarella stick, but not as wide. The menu shows a full steak with the approx $19 dollar meal. So, I'd advise not ordering fajitas unless you just want a light snack. read more

Came to try out this new place and it was well worth the trip. Very clean bright dining room with lots of hand painted decor. Our waitress Juana was very friendly and attentive. We tried the queso, Fillete Ranchero and Poblano Chicken. They were all excellent. The salsa was very good and make sure to ask for the green salsa if you like a little spicy. read more

We are so happy to have this family owned restaurant in our neighborhood. As of this posting they've been open three weeks. The food is extremely fresh and nicely plated. Portions are generous. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. All the murals and ceilings were hand painted by an artist from Austin. At this time, because of zoning laws, they do not serve alcohol. They're considering BYOB. I posted a photo of the steak fajitas for two. On our first visit we ordered chicken flautas and a steak quesadilla from the drive-thru window. read more

We visited for lunch today and really enjoyed our meal. My husband got the Tampiquena plate, it had 4 pieces of steak and two enchiladas. Seemed like a good amount of good for the $15 or so, I can't remember how much exactly. I had a fajita chicken burrito, it was also a nice full plate of food. The rice was fluffy and full of flavor, the beans were SO good! There were a lot (too many?) options on the menu but everything was priced right. The decor is beautiful I would suggest making your own chips, they weren't the best. And I agree about the service, it was underwhelming. Take a trip to Arepitas to see how service should be, they are amazing. Plus the food All in all, we will be back. Worth the 25 minute drive. read more
