Terrible experience to say the least. We had an appointment time for 5:15. We walked in the store at 5:14 just behind another group of gentlemen who simply walked in the store without an appointment. There were two people working in the store at the time and both choose to help the other customers. My fiancé, his mother, and I walked around the store looking around waiting for one of the employees to acknowledge us. After repeating twice about waiting Bailey finally passive aggressively said "Are you ****" Don't you have an appointment at 5:40?" Which was simply incorrect, so we made her aware and she said well I'll be with you after I help these customers. My mother-in-law and I then helped ourselves and looked around at the tux's while we waited. After a minute or two we decided to stand back by the door and wait for her to finish with the other group. When standing there Bailey asked us to move away from the door because the door counts the number of people walking in and out of the store and they compare the number of people to number of sales and she gets yelled at if the number is too high and "corporates been on them about it" this is absolutely ridiculous and unreasonable for both the store and its customers. Not to mention the place they have customers stand is right next to this spot we were told to move away from and there are no other seating options in the store or standing options to review the choices and have a large party present without triggering said door. After this terrible experience I was then gaslit about whether their champagne option was yellow or not and after my fiancé communicated which suit he'd like (different than the first) she said she would keep the first in his portal until I knew what the bridesmaids' colors were and picked out my gown (has nothing to do with his tux). She then advised us to come back in June (our wedding is in September), then later retracted that statement said she was leaving so come back in April. She said not to use the website as it's confusing and "easy to mess things up". She then talked poorly of the coworker she was working with that day and gave my fiancé some she would suggest if not her, nice I suppose? None-the-less not professional. Safe to say we will not be shopping with Men's Warehouse in Ann Arbor. read more

Judging by the reviews so far this place seems to be very "love it or hate it", luckily for me it's the former. Now, I know that fashion snobs will poo-poo places like this because stores like this are, for lack of a better term, "big box" in nature. These same people will also drop $500+ on a pair of shoes, which just isn't in the cards for me. For some context, I have the fashion sense of an eight year old. I was a bit apprehensive because my fashion sense is so non-existent, and I even walked into the store wearing green beach-like shorts with a plain gray T, running shoes, white socks, and a plain black hat. I thought for sure that when I walked in I would be on my own, or very uncomfortable. Luckily this was absolutely not the case. The assistant manager (Brian) greeted me and despite me being dressed very, well, unsightly, he didn't make me feel awkward at all and was very attentive. I told Brian about my lack of fashion sense and that I desperately need help and he was more than happy to oblige. I was looking for something on the casual side but also something somewhat versatile that I could wear when I go out. He put together a couple really great looking options. I'm going to a more casual wedding, which is what prompted me to check this place out. I didn't want to dress like I'm going to a job interview, but I wanted to look decent and I wanted clothes that work in multiple situations. Brian gave me a really good 101 education on basic fashion, like to opt for patterns against non-patterned clothes (in my example the vest is non-patterned but my shirt is patterned), how to use ties to help certain colors in your shirt pop out, how to pick versatile shirts, shoes, etc, and he even gave me really good tips on how to clean clothes that are not machine washable. He spent upwards of an hour with me and was happy to answer all of my questions. I am very grateful for all of his help. I get it, this place might not offer the best value all of the time, and it might not be the number one pick for fashion snobs like those you might find on the MaleFashionAdvice subreddit, but I paid about $500 for a complete outfit (vest, shirt, shoes, tie, three pairs of socks, and a belt) and I'm very happy with what I got, and just as happy with the service I experienced. This is more than I would normally spend on clothes, but I'm the type of person who shops at Target or Meijer. This outfit looks *far* better than anything I owned prior and left on my own I could have easily paid just as much or more and not had an outfit that looks nearly this good. Brian set me off on a trajectory toward updating my entire wardrobe. My $20 poorly fit jeans and $5 Fruit of the Loom plain Ts have got to go. While I will branch out and not pigeonhole myself into a single store, I will certainly come back to Men's Wearhouse. I will also specifically look for Brian when I do such. read more

Would rate them a zero if I could. Got measured for a tux , asked what the cost would be and was told $ 169. I put $ 20 down so I expected to pay the balance at some point or $ 149. Go a bill emailed to me and still owe another $ 198. I called and was told it was because of the taxes but thats 6 % not $50. They thought I was measured in another city than what I was measured in. Had a similar experience when we bought our son a suit upon graduating college. Was told the total cost and they came back and were off $ 50 too low that time. Bottom line prices quoted by these folks aren't reliable and they always come back and ask for another $ 50 haircut from the customer. Honesty and customer service isn't what you can expect from the mens warehouse!!!! read more

What a mess! We went to Men's Warehouse to get my fiance and his groomsmen decked out for the big day this Summer. We ended up getting very nice (albeit overpriced) pants for the groomsmen at the buy one, get one free sale. Under any other circumstances, we would have never paid full price for the pants we had bought, but thanks to the sale, this review gets one star. So why the minus four stars? Major goof-up on shirt rentals/purchases. We are going a more non-traditional route with the guys just wearing slacks, dress shirts, and ties. No tuxes or vests...about as simple as it gets. We were assured by the representative working with us that the groomsmen could either rent or purchase the same shirt based on their preferences. This was hugely important to us as the guys are all over the country and would have to be visiting their local MW store to get them. Fast forward to several months later when I went in to purchase shirts for my brother, father, and a groomsmen. The staff proceeded to tell me that there was "no way" that the guys could buy the same shirt as the one being rented, even though they has specifically noted it in their computer system (they looked it up and confirmed this)! This would have left us with guy in completely different shirts (those who rented vs. thought who had bought), which was not okay with us. Ended up canceling all rentals, two groomsmen had to return shirts that had been purchased, and now it looks like we're just going to have to buy shirts instead of considering the whole rental option. What a mess. When I left the store, the man who I assumed to be the manager shouted out, "So, everything's great and we're fine now!" Not so much. Will not be doing business with them again anytime soon. read more

Recently my sister passed away and the airline lost my luggage. I had not planned on nor budgeted buying a new suit but I had to. We tried several places and either they were too expensive or couldn't get one in time for me (I am not an easy fit) or couldn't even find someone to help us. That's when we met Brian Walters. He greeted us right away and we could tell he truly cares about his customers. In no time he found me the perfect suit at a great price. It was during a buy one get one free sale so I was able to get an additional suit for the viewing! Brian took the time to show us several looks but wasn't pushy at all. It was still cold and he even found me a great overcoat on clearance. The suits were done right away and we couldn't be happier with the service Brian gave us. HERE IS THE BEST PART - We were amazed to find out Brian sent flowers to the funeral home- just Wow. Then two weeks later he called to see how we liked the suits- Who does that anymore?!!! read more

I spend the ENTIRE day looking for suits for my boys. We went to Kohls, Meijer, Target, Sears, and several other shops. Attempting to piece together a nice suit for a boy was turning into a nightmare. We went to the Men's Wearhouse. I remembered that my husband bought some pants there. As soon as we arrived I was greeted at the door. I told the lady that I want to get suits for the boys and she took us immediately to the boys area. I found a nice chair and for the next half hour my boys were dressed, and treated like gentleman. I didn't even have to move. Before we left their suits were tailored, pressed, hung, and covered. The cost was only slightly more than if I had put them together at Kohls. I mean within ten dollars. The tailoring is for the life of the pant so when the boys grow taller they will be let down at no cost. They look FANTASTIC!!! I wish I hadn't wasted time looking anywhere else. read more

I've spent more money than I wish I had at this store, but have had very good experiences overall. They have suits, tuxedos, shirts, belts, socks, etc. Everything for a mid-range dressy wardrobe. Average suit without any special promos is aroud $400-500. they will do tailoring, but it may take a few days to get the suit back in that case. They offer pretty good advice and service, but be sure to share your opinions/fashion sense or you may end up getting selections you are less than happy with. The suits I have purchased have lasted well. One great benefit is that you get FREE lifetime pressing (note-pressing is not cleaning, but more like ironing) for all suits. This has saved me a tremendous amount of money over time. Overall a good value. The current manager is Todd and he is definitely the best guy to talk to if he is in. read more

The last time I went here was three years ago. I bought 4 suits. 2 fit well, 2 were crap cut wrong and fit poorly. The staff here switches quickly with little concern for long term customer service. Tonight, knowing I had a bad experience a few years, I gave this place another chance. It was not too busy in the store so I thought 7:30 on a Monday was a good time to go get service. No hello on entry. I stood around for 15 minutes while one sales person entertained an older couple in shoes, a couple stood and waited at the register, a third person sat at a desk, and little was done. I gave up and went to another store. I don't think I will go back and give them a fourth opportunity. When George owned the business, it was a place I trusted, but not today. read more

I see this Men's Wearhouse isn't getting the best reviews. But I am giving this place 5 STARS! I can't say that there was overly exceptional great customer service leading up to my Brother and sister in law's wedding. But also no complaints! :) the 2 ring bearers needed new shoes 2 days before the wedding and they handled it like pro's and were able to get the correct sizes shipped over night in time for the wedding. The biggest reason for getting 5 STARS.... The night of their PERFECT wedding. The brides father was in an awful car accident wearing the suit from this place. The undershirt and vest had to be cut off him and the rest was blood stained. Once we contact employees of this horrible news. They did not make it difficult on the family to return it in this condition... they also charged them/him NOTHING! So amazing and thoughtful to be so accommodating during this tough time for all involved! Buyer beware of extremely high prices. I went into Men's Wearhouse recently and I ordered a Joseph Abood custom suit. I got the jacket, pants, and a matching vest in charcoal for a 3 piece suit and I spent $540.60. My best friend whom is the same size as I am went to Macy's and bought the exact same Joseph Abood 3 piece custom suit in the same charcoal color. It was not on sale and he spent $402.11. I guess lesson learned on that one. I'm also a member of the Perfect Fit club and when you have reached a total of $500 spent you get a $50 gift certificate in the mail. I finally reached that level with the purchase of this suit and I got my $50 certificate. I was thinking that I could go in there and get a nice dress shirt or something. I'm looking at the prices of the dress shirts and there wasn't a single shirt in my neck and arm length size that was under $90. I'm like something is wrong here. I've purchased dozens of dress shirts in my life and I've never spent close to that on a shirt. So I started pulling shirts in my size out from their cubbie holes and laying them out. I looked each one up on amazon. I pulled out a Calvin Klein shirt in my size at Men's Wearhouse and it was $109.35. I found the exact same shirt on Amazon (same size, same style number and same fabric) for $33.14 sold by Amazon directly. I found the same exact thing with all of the brands of shirts I pulled out. I'm showing several shirt comparisons to one of the sales representatives and showing him how much cheaper they are on Amazon. His response to me was that they run a sale from time to time where you get 3 shirts for a $100. He said people are waiting till the sale and buying the shirts and reselling them on Amazon. I said, what??? These shirts are being sold by Amazon directly, not a 3rd party seller, and they're not on sale. They're just cheaper by more than 66%. He then said well go buy your shirts on Amazon. I said to him, you got that right! I tore up my $50 certificate. Had I used the certificate to buy any of the shirts that were in my size, the price would have still be more expensive. after the certificate was used. than the price of the exact same item on Amazon. I didn't realize until now just how badly I was being cheated out of money by shopping here. If the suits are more expensive and the shirts are more expensive, I'm inclined to think that everything is more expensive. On a positive note, the staff is helpful and friendly, as long as you don't mind spending more than you need to, and in some cases, spending more than double on items they sell. i can't believe i set myself up like that; i should have known better. i'm interested in men's fashion- interested enough to know that going to a men's wearhouse is like the little caesar's hot-n-ready of suit shopping. however, there came a time about half a year into my first corporate job (january 2014) that i decided i needed more than just 2 suits. i wanted to add charcoal and light grey suits to my collection, and after hearing about their 'buy one, get one free' sale, i let my guard down, and decided to stop in. i walk in, and as i start to look around, i can feel it: this is a high-pressure sales environment. all of the salespeople looked like assholes. the kind of assholes that still use hair gel to spike their hair, the kind of assholes that say "whoooooo!" at bars, the kind of assholes that have a had a car repo'ed before. add some flattery, overzealous small talk, condescending tones of voice-- that should have been my cue to dip. it was clear that the men's warehouse was not a good fit for me, but i stuck it out because sometimes i'm an idiot. the salesperson who ended up working with me through the bulk of my experience was nice enough, but it was clear he was listening to respond, rather than listening to understand. i wanted a suit with a very slim fit; i'm thin, asian, and i know how to dress-- don't make me look like a 6-year-old playing dress up, or someone inept enough to wear a fedora. after fumbling around for about 40 minutes, mostly showing me suits that didn't fit the profile of what i was looking for, he was actually able to find 2 suit jackets that fit my thin torso really, really well. the pants experience was different than what i was used to at department stores: there is only one size of matching pants with each suit jacket, and the pants need to be tailored. that's fine, but that's where my problems really started. as i was being fitted, i was introduced to one of their 'tailors.' she had a makeup style that made me skeptical of her eye for aesthetics- thick, dark eyeliner, that clashed with a bright off-red lipstick. uh oh. as she was pinning  the pants to fit my dimensions, the pants felt loose, and i explained that i wanted a thinner "GQ/european" style suit-pant to fit my frame. she explained that it would be thinner and tighter when the job was finished. i took her at her word. so i come back about 3 days later, and my suits are ready. the charcoal suit set looked pretty good. however, the gray suit's pants were really fucked. they looked like lee pipes straight from the '90s. the pant legs were far too wide, and they hadn't been tapered properly at the bottom. the person who helped me initially with purchasing the suits was not in on the day i picked them up, so another associate got my suit from the back for me. when i told him that the gray pants needed to be re-tailored, he gave me a response that made me shit a little bit: "that's how suit pants are supposed to fit, they're not skinny jeans, man." what the fuck? are you kidding me? one pair of pants wasn't perfect, but they were good enough for me not to complain. the other pair of pants did not fit, and the quality of the job was no where near that of the other. it looked bad. and it made me look bad. i'm self-aware enough to know what looks good on me. i have a distinct sense of style that fits me well. i'm not lost. i don't need a clown who wears a tie lighter than his shirt telling me how something is 'supposed to look.' don't project your poor understanding of fit, style, and taste onto my sensibilities that work. could customer service get any worse? i had to escalate my complaint to a manager, because my requests were clearly doing nothing to resolve the situation with this fool. the manager was civil, professional and conciliatory, but he still had an attitude of "well, we don't really understand why you're upset, but here's what we can do..." when i would have preferred a more empathetic, "wow, that tailoring was really inconsistent, let's get this fixed as soon as possible." it was enough to cool me down, but not enough to make me happy. after going back and forth, he offered to have me re-measured, and the pants retailored. fine. another 3 days go by, i tried on the retailored pants, and hnnngh, they're so tight. much tighter than the charcoal pants that fit well. the legs were thinned without having the waist and back proportionally adjusted, and it ended up giving the pants a bit of a "adult diaper under spandex" look, and the bottom of the pant leg was still tapered incorrectly, still giving it that overly bell-bottomy look when sitting down with my knees bent. they were a little bit better, but at that point i had already resigned. i wasn't going to keep going back and forth, only to waste more time, have to make another stink, and have them messed up again. lesson learned: fuck this place. read more

This place reminds me of a used car sales lot, with used car salesmen at your service. The customer service is incredible until you close the deal, after that good luck. My brother-in-law order suits for the wedding party while they were buy one get one back in December. He lives in Cincinnati, I in Michigan. I was measured at this Men's Wearhouse (Ann Arbor location) and relayed the measurements to the Cincy store. After the suit came in mine was shipped to the Ann Arbor store. When it was time for me to pick it up, it was missing a shirt. Men's Wearhouse assured us they would locate a shirt and call us back in a few days, the call never came. When we called them to inquire it was like they had no idea what we were talking about. After a few more days they finally found a shirt. One week from the wedding the suit is tailored and ready for pick up and the missing shirt, that they found, was the wrong size. These people measure guys for a living you would think they would be half way decent at it. Ok...No biggie people make mistakes. They locate a shirt and have it two day aired. I am on day three and I am still waiting for the shirt. The wedding is in two days, plus I have to travel to Cincy. I am really surprise this company stays in business between the lack of coordination between stores and lack of communication from the sales rep. Buyers beware... UPDATE 5/19/15: I received the shirt Saturday morning at 11am (wedding began at 2pm). Men's Wearhouse had it overnighted from the Ann Arbor store to Cincy. I will say the customer service increased 10 fold after a few heated conversations. I would have preferred a more proactive approach rather than the reactive approach that was taken during the whole process. In the end it all worked out. read more

My experience has been nothing but frustrating! I first went and was fitted for a suit for my friends wedding at the Eisenhower location. After getting my measurements the suit was ordered and the gentleman that was helping me tried to convince me to pay for it that day. At that time the suits were 40% off but my friend said he had gotten them 50% off and would be paying for them at a later date. The gentleman was trying to convince me that 10% wasn't that big of a difference in price. Well actually 10% of a $300 some dollar suit is over $30 and that to me is big enough difference to wait. In talking to my friend it was a good thing I didn't pay for it because he had changed suits and the measurements that I gone in for where applied to the new suit. He also told me he had payed for the suits ahead of time and that their should be any additional costs. After a week I went back into the Eisenhower store to try on the suit and get it altered. Everything went as planned, got my pants altered at the store, and then left the store Eisenhower store for the Oak Valley store as they had the machine to alter the sleeves of my jacket. They ended up charging me $18 for the altercation which wasn't a big deal. The following week my friend went in to check in on his suit and notice that I had been given a completely different suit than all the others. It ended up being the first suit he chose and there had been a mix up. This meant that I had walked out of the Eisenhower store with a completely unpaid suit. Since I hadn't been given the right suit the first time I had to go back in to get refitted. When I went back in I had to explain the situation to three people before someone was able to work with me. After getting fitted they said that altering my pants was going to be $8 when I had been told there would be no cost for altercation because of all the hassle I had been through. Again, I had to explain the situation to this now upset looking employee who had to confirm my story with someone else before telling me "you are all set. Sorry for the confusion." It seems to me that neither store has good communication and does not take the time to make customers feel welcome or taken care. I also got the feeling that I was getting taken advantage of or being duped in some way every time i was in the store. I will be so happy after this whole experience is over and will confidently say I will never return again. read more

If you want the right suit in the right size, go somewhere else. Even though the salesman taped me prior to my purchases, most of what I left with really didn't fit very well. About the only thing that fit right were the two ties I bought, though you can't really screw that up. I went back once to point out the misfit suits and all the salesman did was give me the run-around. I had to leave the store before I lost control. I will NEVER shop in another Men's Warehouse again. They may all not be this bad, but for the amount of money spent, this place proved to just be interested in the sale and nothing more. read more

Came in to ask about renting grey suits for my wedding party. The staff here was minimally helpful in telling me that they did not rent suits, and that my only choice would be to buy one. I then asked about tuxedo rentals, and was shown the limited selection of a single grey tuxedo. When I asked the price, they quoted me $225 "and up" - DOUBLE what I ended up paying at Van Boven in downtown Ann Arbor. They will give you a free suit for the groom with 10 paid rentals (also one-upped by Van Boven, as I later discovered). Bottom line: come here if you want limited selection, higher prices, and the lackluster service you would expect from a national chain. I'd suggest not wasting your time and going straight to a local business. read more

The Store Manager, Mike, was very pleasant to work with and he even called the groom to congratulate him and thank him for doing business. Kudos, hats off, and two thumbs up to this Men's Wearhouse and specifically to Ethan Breuninger, the wonderful young man who helped us select a tuxedo rental for my husband. Picture it ... frazzled grandparents with a two-year-old in tow on a rainy morning, in desperate need of a tuxedo for a formal wedding in San Jose the following weekend. Thank goodness we found Ethan! He listened to our preferences, made suggestions (all of which were excellent and some of which saved us money), and measured my husband in record time. This was a very good thing because, well, we had a two-year-old with us. Ethan was professional, more than competent, friendly and funny. We were dreading this, but Ethan made it a grand experience. His assistant on that day, Nico, was also good. The following Wednesday when my husband came to try on the "goods," Ethan had everything ready -- it was perfection. Our drop-off on Monday was equally without fuss. We have another event coming up in January and we're making an appointment with Ethan! read more

The clothing is of mediocre quality so you are not getting huge value but what you pay for. I found the service to be very pleasant and expedient and I'm very picky about service. I think the bad reviews come from rentals and no disrespect meant but weddings carry too much drama and involve young people who don't always have their act together. We were in crisis mode. We were in town for our son's graduation from Michigan. Of course he had not bothered to try on his suit pants (bought about a year earlier) until I prompted him and lo and behold, they were too tight. We brought them to the store (he bought the suit at another store) and we were told there was not enough material to let them out. Graduation was the next day.We ended up having to get a matching pair which we were lucky enough to find but they were rather expensive since they were not on sale. Todd worked with us and the pants were tailored right there on the spot. He revived some old coupons that had been sent to us but had expired, which brought the price of the pants down to an incredibly affordable level. The pants fit great and graduation was wonderful! Todd and the alterations team was great. My son will return there for future purchases. read more

Men's Wearhouse was, awful. My husband had three rentals from various locations this year for weddings and literally every one was a bad experience. Our wedding and the other 2 weddings felt forced to go through Men's Wearhouse because it's the only national chain (all groomsmen live across the country). The messed something up at literally every wedding on somebody's outfit (wrong size pants, forgot the shirt, forgot the pocket square, etc.) Truly an appalling experience, so when it came time for our wedding we were really nervous that everything would come correct. Luckily, it did. But please please please go through a different company for tuxes if you can. This location has an employee named Steve that was horrendous - he made us very uncomfortable with his fakeness (for lack of a better term) and harrassing phone calls when our party hadn't gotten sized "on time" (8 months before the wedding, which was totally unnecessary).
