We went on a Sunday afternoon with an appt at 1pm. The only hiccup was they would not find our reservation in their system although we received an confirmation email regarding our appointment. But since they were not very busy, we were helped by the formal wear manager, Dave. He was very friendly, easy going and fun to work with. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get fitted. He gave us suggestions and what styles would work with what. We went with the Vera Wang Tux for the wedding. The slim fit fitted well on my Fiance. Since my bridesmaids color is Tiffany Blue, the Gray went perfectly with the color (for the groomsmen). Depending on the designer and add ons, ours came out to be about $200ish for 1 tux rental. The whole process took about 30mins since i already have a few tux styles picked out for him to try. Before you leave, they require a $40 deposit (groom only) to secure the date and rentals with everyone. Each groomsmen will have to pay a $20 deposit. I've been shopping at Men's Wearhouse for 40 years and spend a significant amount on suits and men's clothing. The fitting experience for the suits I rented for my son and myself for my eldest son's wedding on September 12th was fantastic--professional, friendly, and exactly what I expect from Men's Wearhouse. The return experience at the Gurnee store, however, was the opposite. I was never told about the strict 24‑hour return policy when placing my order. Because the wedding was in Naperville and Being from the Lake County area the distance is significant and we had family events the next day, I would have returned the suits in that area had I known. When I returned the suits on Monday, September 14th, the associate was rude from the start. Before even checking the bags, he warned me he'd "have to charge me" if anything was missing. He then mentioned daily late fees and, when I explained the situation, responded with, "Well you should have returned them where you were at." That's not acceptable customer service. I'm always willing to pay fees when expectations are clearly communicated--but they weren't. After four decades as a loyal customer, this experience was disappointing and not reflective of the brand I've trusted for so long. I will make sure in the future that I take my business to Vernon Hills Store or to a competitor as this experience has made me question the level of customer service with Men's Warehouse from a Brand perspective. read more

Last night we went to the Gurnee location to purchase two suites, shirts, belts and a pair of shoes. It was the worst experience ever. We have worked with the older gentleman before, and he has always been fantastic and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, he was working with another customer and was not able to assist us. We got a young man that finally came over to help. His attitude was demeaning, and he acted like he was being inconvenienced by our presents. We were told by the older gentleman when he walked by to get the other customer something that if we needed suits to be altered before three weeks' time that they could not do it and that we would need to take them to a tailor in the mall or over to the Vernon Hills location for alterations. After working with the younger man and feeling demeaned by him we had our suits and ties, but not the other needed items. We waited at the checkout counter for a good amount of time to purchase our items, but no one came up to check us out. We finally left the merchandise on the counter and left feeling demeaned and very mad/upset about the whole experience and wanted to not get what the needed. We went to the Vernon Hills location and had a wonderful experience working with a gentleman named Ken, he got us everything we needed, and our suits will be ready on time. It renewed our faith in customer service and the time and care needed to help men that might be coming in out of their comfort zone of having someone evaluating their fit and sizing as they get fitted for an expensive purchase. We went in literally 30 minutes before closing time and Mr. Jason immediately stepped in to assist us with purchases. He didn't rush us at all and didn't seem to mind that the store was closed. He suggested various items and prepped and laid pieces out together on display for us to view. He also gave my husband suggestions of other stores that carried a larger selection of bigger sized shoes. Although he was working with another customer as well he was very versed in ensuring that both of us didn't feel that we were left alone. The store itself isn't big at all and very easy to navigate. It's located in a small section of a strip mall with parking right outside the door entrance. Even though the store isn't big, they are very accommodating with ordering items that may not be available in store. Local shopping that felt personalized! read more

I am getting married this fall and my fiance needs a tux for the ceremony so we headed to MW Tux. They were packed to the gills in here. We waited and waited to get helped. A young man came over to get the details of our wedding and my guy's measurements. Right in the middle of him helping us, he had to take another customer. Fine, I can't remember if they were there first? So we wait around, look through the book of different colors of vests and ties and we both decide on one. Still waiting.... so finally my fiance gets to try on a tux and he gets measured. He sure looks handsome in his tux, I can't wait for the BIG day :) As we were waiting, I observed a few things. The other guy working in the store wasn't pleasant. He had a short temper and I could tell he HATED his job. He would get snippy with the people he was helping, he would kick stuff on the floor out of his way, he would answer the phone in a short tone and put the people on hold and never return. Bad customer service! I was happy with the young guy that helped us. I will edit my review after the wedding to see how everything pans out. All in all, they get two stars for convenience to my parents house. We were in that place for an HOUR and it was just the two of us. Pack your patience when you come in here. It seems dropping off is a breeze though. Just turn in your suits and leave! read more

We went in there to get a suit for a wedding altered. The precious day we got shoes for that same suit. Amazing service both days. The seamstress was so helpful and she did the hemming of the pants same day. In and out in about 30 minutes. The young lady that helped us also steamed the jacket, pants and dress shirt-saving us so much time!! I would recommend this location to anyone who loves getting outstanding service. read more

I can't see how a place like this does business! I went in with my friend who is getting married so he can check out the tuxedos for his wedding. He is a XXXL guy and knows that it might be hard to find a place that has something on hand for him to try out. He found the look and style for everything here. BUT They did not have his size (this was not a surprise) but would be able to order it for him. He asked how long it was going to take to get in. The person handling us kind of balked at this and said that it would be in before his wedding. . . DUH! SO my friend asks when exactly it would come in and he said two days before his wedding!!!!! Which, by the way, is AUGUST 30TH. The day we went in there was June 17th! How can a place do business like that? They actually expected him to agree to that. He asked them "what happens if I don't like the tux when it comes in and I try it on?" they had no answer for him so he left along with the order for 4 other groomsmen, the ring bearer and 3 ushers. They didn't flinch. The only reason we were going here was because there was a discount on the wedding dress from David's Bridal if a tux was rented from a Men's Warehouse store. read more

Perhaps they've had a change of staff since other reviewers were here, because I thought they did a fine job. The woman who helped us was very knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. She gave great suggestions whenever we weren't sure what to choose or how something was "supposed to be." Pick up was easy - only one of the 10 people getting tuxes for our wedding needed something in a different size when they went in for the final fitting, and he's a growing teenager so we kind of expected that would be the case. I used to work for a tuxedo rental shop similar to Men's Wearhouse, so my standards were pretty high and I think this MW location definitely met them. (In response to previous review, pick-up 2 days before the event is standard for men's formal wear rental companies, though I do agree that in such a situation where a sample could not be tried on it would have been helpful to arrange an earlier delivery.) read more

Purchased a suit, the associate went over the measurements and chalked out the needed alterations and changes HOWEVER, he must have a hearing issue because he when I went in to pick up the suit, the wrong cuts were made, then a week later I picked it up and the same guy said "I put those notes on the ticket, I don't know why they did what they did".I didn't even say a word, I just took the suit and left, SHAME ON ME, because when I took it out today to put it on, NO CUFF, after I explicitly said to CUFF THE PANT LEGS. So essentially, not one thing I asked for and repeated 3 times was done on my item. NEVER USE THIS PLACE!!! Save up a little more money and go to Brooks Brothers, or KnG, anyplace but here. Waste of time and money, very unsatisfied. read more

I prefer to be left alone while shopping generally but her help was great and not pushy at all. There is a nice selection at this location and it is staffed well enough to be helpful. Very unfriendly staff. My dad went to pick up his suit for my wedding day and all of the measurements were wrong and they replaced it with the totally wrong suit. Obviously they didn't even check what was supposed to be given to him. Highly do NOT recommend. Find a different location to do business in. read more

I have used Men's Warehouse for purchases and rentals in the past and always had good experiences... until I went to the Gurnee location. I went in to rent a tux for a formal event and had nothing but bad luck right from the get-go. I wasn't sure what I wanted yet, but I did have ideas about features on tuxes that I did like or did not like. I explained these things to the young girl that was helping us (my wife was with me) and she sort of stared at us blankly. Unfortunately I was hoping for a few suggestions, which I definitely did not receive. So I began to flip through the books, all the while with the young girl hovering around us with no helpful input on anything. Any questions we asked (can we see an example of his vest, how shiny are the lapels and stripes on the slacks, etc.) were answered with "I'm not sure" or "you can look through what we have on display" types of answers. After I realized I would get no help, my wife and I picked something and I got measured. This part was fairly straightforward as usual, but for some reason they really like to make the neck tight. She measured me a little incorrectly on that, but I was using my own shirt on that, so no worries there. I am a bigger guy, so I do appreciate the fact that their pants are adjustable on the sides, so even if they mess up a bit on waist size, or I gain or lose weight it is not an issue. When I went to pick up my tux everything seemed okay. I tried on the pants and jacket and they seemed fine. At this time I also had to order a tux for a friends wedding. Unfortunately I had the same young girl helping me and she sat trying to look up the wedding info for about 10 minutes. I gave her the grooms first and last name, the brides first and last name, the wedding date and still she sat typing and retyping. The other clerk, who most of the time seemed disinterested, pretty much ignored her until finally he gave her a hand and pulled it up in about 30 seconds. So, a visit to the store to pick up a tux and rent a new one when they already had all of the information including my measurements from my current rental took a little over 20 minutes, when it probably should have been less than 5 minutes. To top it everything off, when I got home and put on the full tux for my event, I noticed that the tie was broken. For those who don't know, they don't use true neckties. The fronts are normal, but the under-the-collar stuff is just an adjustable band with a clip to fasten it. My clip was broken and my wife had to use a safety pin to secure it so it would stay on. Due to all of this I will not use this location again (I pick up and return the wedding tux in Florida where the wedding is being held, so no worries there) and because of this experience I may just look into other alternatives altogether. read more
