But since they were not very busy, we were helped by the formal wear manager, Dave. He was very friendly, easy going and fun to work with. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get fitted. He gave us suggestions and what styles would work with what. We went with the Vera Wang Tux for the wedding. The slim fit fitted well on my Fiance. Since my bridesmaids color is Tiffany Blue, the Gray went perfectly with the color (for the groomsmen). Depending on the designer and add ons, ours came out to be about $200ish for 1 tux rental. The whole process took about 30mins since i already have a few tux styles picked out for him to try. Before you leave, they require a $40 deposit (groom only) to secure the date and rentals with everyone. Each groomsmen will have to pay a $20 deposit. Last night we went to the Gurnee location to purchase two suites, shirts, belts and a pair of…read moreshoes. It was the worst experience ever. We have worked with the older gentleman before, and he has always been fantastic and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, he was working with another customer and was not able to assist us. We got a young man that finally came over to help. His attitude was demeaning, and he acted like he was being inconvenienced by our presents. We were told by the older gentleman when he walked by to get the other customer something that if we needed suits to be altered before three weeks' time that they could not do it and that we would need to take them to a tailor in the mall or over to the Vernon Hills location for alterations. After working with the younger man and feeling demeaned by him we had our suits and ties, but not the other needed items. We waited at the checkout counter for a good amount of time to purchase our items, but no one came up to check us out. We finally left the merchandise on the counter and left feeling demeaned and very mad/upset about the whole experience and wanted to not get what the needed. We went to the Vernon Hills location and had a wonderful experience working with a gentleman named Ken, he got us everything we needed, and our suits will be ready on time. It renewed our faith in customer service and the time and care needed to help men that might be coming in out of their comfort zone of having someone evaluating their fit and sizing as they get fitted for an expensive purchase. In the end, Gurnee you need to do better. Vernon Hills nicely done!

I had struck out at just about every high-end department store you can think of, and couldn't even find a decent to try on anywhere I had gone. Gipper Prom has a large selection, with most inventory displayed on mannequins instead of just on hangers. There's no lugging around 10lb dresses, you just write the style number and color up on a slip they give you when you first walk in, and when you're done, they bring it to your dressing room. And it IS a room, with a locking door, so no worrying about that big dress leaving you exposed as you turn around. They had several associates at the dressing room, ready to help zip, clasp or adjust when needed, and they make sure the walkway is clear for you to move about. Since most people do not go dress shopping alone, they thoughtfully have ample seating and complimentary water for the poor soul you may have dragged along with you. Seating is arranged several feet behind a wall lined with mirrors, each section accompanied by a platform and appropriate lighting. The platform is likely useful for any tailoring needed, but I just used it to make my significant other nervously rate me in each of the 10 or so dresses I tried on. The staff didn't pressure you to buy, nor did anyone look at my long list of dresses like I was wasting their time or making their life terrible for no reason. The people working were friendly, and the other customers and their guests were also all cheery. Dress shopping can be a nightmare - hot, cramped, nothing fitting the way you hope, sizing not available, etc. But not the case here - and the other women shopping seemed to feel the same as me. Customers were openly complimenting each other, and the entire atmosphere was very warm. I can't rate their ability to modify or make minor fixes to beading, etc. The dress I purchased was perfect without anything needed. Overall, I was more than impressed. If you're an adult, well - clearly we aren't going to the prom, but this is a great store for many other events including pageants, galas, black tie or formal parties, or any time you can get away with being a little "extra," or are in need of a good selection of floor-length, high-quality formalwear. Best of all, these are really nice suits! The fabric is wonderfully soft and we made it to the wedding with minutes to spare looking like a million bucks. The store has a really nice assortment of suits, rental tuxedos, shoes, belts, hats, vests, jackets, shirts, and wallets. They even do dry cleaning!
