The Men's Wearhouse is that place you go when you suddenly realize your wardrobe consists entirely of band t-shirts and questionable gym shorts. It's also one of the best places to go when you need a suit for Four Weddings and Funeral. Especially when they are last minute I went in there the other day as I needed a suit because my dad passed away unexpectedly and needed a suit for the funeral ( My previous suit no longer fit as I lost the battle of the Bulge due to the....Covid lock downs, yeah..let's go with that) I walked in looking like like I'd just lost a fight with a laundry basket. And let me tell you, it was a transformative experience. It was like stepping into a sartorial spa, but instead of cucumber slices, they offered me perfectly pressed suit jackets and shirts. The staff? Absolute legends. They didn't just sell clothes; they conducted a full-blown intervention. No joke My personal stylist, bless his soul, "Louie" (and another gentleman who's name i didnt get but deserves equal credit) looked at my current attire with the kind of pity usually reserved for stray kittens, then proceeded to dress me like I was about to negotiate a multi-million dollar deal...or at least attend a moderately fancy brunch. And the alterations? Forget magic; this was straight-up wizardry. They took a suit that fit me like a potato sack and turned it into something that made me look like I could actually parallel park on the first try. I swear, the tailor must have a secret stash of fairy dust and a laser measuring tape. The best part? The "You're gonna like the way you look" line. It's not just a slogan; it's a prophecy. I visited Men's Warehouse with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning at opening (11am) and was really happy with the experience. Deena helped measure and suggest dress shirts and pants for my boyfriend, and everything was a great price point. One of his favorite shirts he ended up getting was only $20! The other was originally $100, but it was on sale for $45. He found a pair of pants while in the store for $80, and they offered hemming services that only took about 10 minutes and was about $20. The store was very busy, and every employee was helping a customer. Deena was juggling us, phones, cash register, and more, and still was able to keep up and provide outstanding service. It was a very stress-free experience, and I'm glad we were able to find something that fit at such a good price point. The staff was friendly and made the experience comfortable. It was impressive how sales lady knew my husband's size by looking at him. The employee helping me was named Ken- he helped me find the perfect suits and was able to arrange for them to be tailored and ready for pick up on the same day. This review is for the female manager of the Bel-Red Overlake Plaza store in Redmond, and not for the staff. I visited this location as we've done previously to rent suits for home coming / prom. I spent ~10-15 minutes waiting at the front checkout desk without anyone enquiring if we needed help, we then drifted to the rear of the store where there were other customers and staff fitting those customers for suits. Again, we waited another ~10-15 minutes without any greeting or engagement, only then to have a wait list clipboard thrust in my direction and abruptly directed that I 'should have signed in'. At this point we were number 5 on the list and I was in some despair. I walked to the front of the store aimlessly hoping to kill time when a member of staff now at the front checkout read my face and asked if he could help. I said it was fine, we'd waited for ~10 mins at the front, only to wait another ~10 mins at the back to then be told we should have signed in. He replied that he would help me, despite me saying that I was now on the list. He proceeded to help my son and was so accommodating and pleasant, his manager (the woman) walked up to him in a stern voice and said, you need to read the list because she (pointing directly and aggressively) is at the end of the list and that man over there has been waiting a long time. She then abruptly stormed off, I exclaimed to the member of staff that I did let him know I was on the list, he in a resigned voice told me she was his manager. He didn't defend me because of course she's his manager, he did say that's just how she is, but also stressed and short in stature. That's not really an reason to behave that way to customers. If I could only have had a regional manager watch her behavior. She does not deserve to be in a position of authority. The correct action would have been to take the member of staff to one side and explain that he needed to follow the list. Not to berate him in front of me and then essentially accuse me of skipping the list in an aggressive tone while gesticulating. I'm not sure if these comments are read by regional managers... I wish there were. The member of staff could not have been more helpful, apologetic or professional. At the checkout I was hurrying my son to pick out a tie because I was so done at this point, but he reminded me that his time is my time and not the other way around. If I do see the 'manager' when I return to pick up the suit I'll likely say something. The rest of the staff were all cheerful, helpful and attentive despite a busy prom season. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. We ordered 8 suits total for a wedding. 6 out of 8 people's suits were absolutely wrong. Like someone didn't know how to measure wrong. When going back in to size they asked how tall they are...... don't you measure people for a living? I wish I could laugh at how ridiculous this is but none of the groomsmen have anything that fits them to wear. They sent out emails at all different times, only two days before the wedding. THE WEDDING IS TOMORROW AND THE STORE MANAGER KAYLEE SAID TO CONTACT CORPORATE! She said there's nothing she can do so we have to get ahold of someone in corporate. THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING! So we were told that the Seattle store would have the grooms pants ready. THEY NEVER HEMMED THEM! They're factory setting and the groom is now going to miss his rehearsal dinner in hopes that his pants fit. Because we put our trust in this company. Please do whatever you have to do to go somewhere else, so that they don't ruin your occasion! As for the other guys, we have to wake up on the DAY OF THE WEDDING, drive 15 minutes to pick up six out of the eight suits and pray they are right! The worst part is that NO ONE including the MANGER KAYLEE will do anything to help us or make this right. They refunded ONE $60 off a $250 rental. Please choose anywhere else! Went in to buy a shirt. First thing I see is all of the employees standing around a TV watching Kingsmen, which I'll have to grant was at least appropriate. One of them audibly tells the other it's his turn, and he reluctantly comes, takes my measurements, and looks around for a brief moment for a shirt that matches my size and the color I want. Turns out they don't have one (which is totally fine, I get that), but they can order it for me. I ask how much, it's a bit out of my price range, but I find out there's a sale next week, so I tell him I'll likely be back in then. I say goodbye, and as I turn around to leave, I hear on of the employees audibly snicker and say, "Did he come here to purchase a shirt?" to the laughs of every other employee in the room. Men's Wearhouse stands out as the sole terrible thing during our wedding planning process -- specifically this location. First problem - I got automated phone calls from Men's Wearhouse nearly every single day for a period of time after buying my dress from David's Bridal. Super annoying, a minus for both MW and DB. Next - I went with my fiance and brother to look at the tuxedos together. This might just be standard, I don't know, but we were told it was not common for people to get to try on the tuxedos before deciding to rent it. The associate however said he would try to get the tuxes in for us to try. Sweet! We ask for two different styles to try out. Next time we go, it turns out they only were able to get one of the tuxes for us to try on. And then the one tux they got us, well, didn't fit my fiance at all. We decide we don't like this style, and decide to take our chances on the one we couldn't try (Vera Wang Black), for pick up in California where we were getting married. Fast forward... we're told by the groomsmen out of state that when they went to get measured, they couldn't find our event in their system... fast forward some more, one day we get a call to say they somehow lost track of my brother's measurements... and then fast forward to a few days before our wedding when we go to pick up my fiance's tux at MW down in California.. and surprise... DOES NOT FIT! Way too small! The tailor at that location basically criticized whoever took the measurements as being off their rocker! Thankfully we had traveled early enough to get it fixed. No one else had any issues with their tuxes fitting besides my fiance and brother, so it was definitely that the person who measured them in Redmond had done a poor job. And finally... down in California, we were told that the tux rental would have been free for the groom if we had also rented a tie. I had not rented a tie because the ties/vests didn't really come in the colors I wanted. They tried to deny us getting the free tux rental (something like a $160 value), because we did not rent a tie for $2. Uhh, wow! The people in California said the people in Redmond should have told us about this. I don't know who's at fault, or frankly care, but either way I'm avoiding Men's Wearhouse in the future. I needed a suit, and have never really owned a proper suit in my life. I didn't want to drop a ton of bling, and felt safe in the arms of a chain. As a rule, if I am a rookie shopper with a particular item or service, I first shop online to educate myself. I went to their site found a few suits that seemed nice and had a vest. I like vests. In fact I found one I liked so much, I printed out the picture to bring, so I didn't get heisted in some sales-y fiasco. I got there with picture in hand, and the guy kind of snuffed the picture and said they don't carry it. Then said the suit was junk! And then said vests are not what I want! This had all the makings of a 1-2 star experience. But I did reveal I was not married to the suit and would consider other options. After that I was treated great and got on a more minimal classic looking suit. I was fitted in the store and the tailoring job was excellent. I learned how to tie a double windsor knot, and was fully ready to get my swerve on VIP style for years to come. This wasn't a heavy sales job either. He was ready to let me walk out if I was only looking for that original suit. There was some light up-selling, but that all comes with the territory. Sarah (or is it, Sara?) was the associate who helped my fiance and I with the tuxedo order for our wedding. She was very patient and showed us all the options from two variations my fiance wanted. Her demeanor was very pleasant and you can tell she enjoys helping out people for any special occasion. I'm glad we had our appointment with her, as we're both very casual people but also were very nervous about the whole process, which only took about 40 minutes. Overall, the store is very neat and clean with all the merchandise well-presented and available. We plan on getting more merchandise from here (for him) for our honeymoon and everyday life, as we were surprised to even find casual shirts and jeans (at this location), as this is a smaller version than what we're used to. read more

I went to rent a tuxedo for a wedding. Wanted a classic black Vera wang tux. Weeks later it arrived in wrong color. I then came back to try make sure it fit properly when the right order came and it wasn't even close. The entire time I was told it fit right when I made eye contact with multiple people who were shaking their head no way. I was told "it's a rental" and I should know how it fits because apparently it's measured differently than every other suit in the world. THE SLEEVES WERE 3 INCHeS ABOVE MY WRIST BONE as I'm looking in the mirror appalled. I HAD LOST TRUST after the conversation so I decided I wanted a refund because I was uncomfortable. He said that's going to cost you $20...so I asked for the manager. I again was told me about HOW RENTALS FIT and ARE MEASURED... both manager and employee said same thing to me verbatim. obviously this isn't the first time the measurement was wrong. I apologize I assumed you guys would know how to measure me properly so my tuxedo fit. EVEN the dress shirt wasn't even a proper tuxedo under shirt. Just a standard dress shirt from their own line but I never even bothered Because I wanted out of there. I EXPECTED more when I bought the most expensive rental they offer. Everything felt cheap and the TUX WASN'T even VERA WANG... but I easily could have cared less if it fit right and it looked normal. I am just shocked the manager wasn't like this doesn't look right let us fix this... obviously I can tell there is zero training / care by higher ups because their employees are acting exactly like management. Kind of unacceptable to wait 40 minutes in any store to receive service (to get measured for a rental in this case). There were plenty of employees walking around who could easily be trained to do multiple tasks (such as work the register), for during busier hours. We thought this would be a quick ordeal but ended up being in the store for around 2 hours. However, I am leaving 3 stars instead of one since the lady that helped us (don't know her name, but she is short and has some accent) was fantastic. Also one younger guy who was stocking shelves was friendly and briefly talked to us while we were waiting, which was nice. Terrible customer service after the contract and money has been signed. Up until that point, things are amazing...that's why I give them two stars instead of 1. Prior to money being exchanged, I felt like I was the most important customer in the world. They made a mistake that caused me to miss a half a day of work, instead of them owning up to the mistake and apologizing...they accused me of not being honest. I whipped out my phone and showed the very email the manager said didn't exist, should have ended right there with him apologizing to me. Nah, not in their nature...money already exchanged hands. Advice...get everything in writing up front. Call often, make sure that when there is something in writing, it is emailed to you. I am hoping they will give me some sort of discount, but I doubt they will acknowledge the mistake even now. read more

I should have trusted all the other bad reviews about this place because it turned out to be true. Plain and simple I was unsure about spending so much money on suits but I knew if I was going to go for a job I had to look the part. I'd give no stars based on my experience today, if possible. I dropped my husband's suit off to be pressed earlier this week. We agreed upon a pick up time but I realized I wouldn't be able to make it so I called and asked if I could pick it up a little earlier on the same planned day. I was told that wouldn't be a problem. I stopped by to pick it up at the agreed upon time, and it wasn't ready. I told the employee (the same one who took the suit, but not the same one who took my call) that I was told it would be ready and he snapped back that we had agreed to a later time. I agreed that we had but explained that I had called and was told earlier would be fine. He told me in a very rude tone of voice that that person wasn't him and he should've been told and then he stormed off to the back and said he would be 5-10 min. He steamed it super quickly (and did a half job) and then brought it out to me and sent me on my way. Glad we didn't do any actual business here, but I certainly won't be back after the attitude I received here from this employee. read more

Went in to buy numerous items in what was my first visit to a Men's Wearhouse. The Redmond store is conveniently located. My total purchase when factoring in the sales prices would have been about $800-$900. I left after I was unable to get any help. It wasn't that they were busy. They seemed engrossed in either the hockey game on the television, or the gathering of several people at the cash register. I remember George Zimmer's ads about "...I guarantee it". As hard as he tried to inculcate the stores with this customer-first attitude, it seems the lessons were not lasting. There are many alternatives to Men's Wearhouse. The time has come to pursue them. I frequently shop with Mens Wearhouse across the country for all my menswear. This time I worked with 3 different people (Ken, Chad, and Blaire) at this store and they all did their part in making my experiences with Mens Wearhouse one of a kind. They all voiced their opinions on a few looks giving me plenty of options but the thing that will bring me back is the inviting atmosphere. You walk into the store and have a sense of family and unity. I spent roughly 45 minutes in the store but the time flew by as the two gentlemen and their manager assisted me with styles and hilariously gave each other a hard time which made the trip that much more exciting, memorable, and a hell of a lot more comfortable. From the service and professionalism these men showed this should be the standard of all Mens Wearhouse stores. read more

Went there to have my son fitted for his ring-bearer tux - not a great experience. First, we had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to get him measured (2 1/2 year olds are not real patient in a clothing store.) The shirt they tried on him was WAY too big and they were going to write that down as his size - wrong! (and why even bother measuring him if you're not going to use the measurements. Fast forward to picking up the tux at "the suit store," again had to wait about 20 minutes for help, and the shirt that came probably would fit an 8 year old - it was like a dress! How hard can it be? Waited for them to call around to find the proper sized shirt and was told they could have one in the store Friday afternoon (this was Tuesday) - Hello! the wedding is Friday afternoon - in Coeur d'Alene! which they should know, they booked all of the tuxes. More calling around, still no shirt, no offers of other options. I had to ask if they have ANY shirt in his size that we can take with us - so I walk out with the "try on shirt" in the wrong color & style as my just in case option. They will "try" to get a shirt to us Wednesday afternoon (when we are leaving for the wedding - isn't that convenient? The whole ordeal took almost an hour and we didn't leave with what was ordered. The other ring-bearer had even worse luck with his tux, pants and jacket both wrong size. And while we were there, 2 other men were picking up their tuxes and had similar problems. Know someone else who has gotten wedding tuxes there a couple times and he says, both times they've been completely wrong. How hard can this be? You measure someone, pick out the size, shorten pants and jacket sleeves if necessary? read more

Yeah, avoid like the plague. I ordered a jacket from this location a few weeks ago. When I initially went to this store, I waited for help for probably ten to fifteen minutes. They seemed somewhat busy, so fair enough. When I was finally helped, the lady who did help me was nice enough, but the distinct impression I got is that she was trying to hurry with me, in order to get to another customer. I presume that these folks work on commission, so, again, fair enough. She was helpful enough, though, and did order a jacket for me. I prepaid for the item, and as I needed it for an upcoming event, she said that she would call me in a couple of days, and that was that. But I could tell that she and the other employees didn't get along too well. I never heard from her, so I called back five days later, and another woman answered the phone. I nicely explained the situation, and she seemed irritated that she even had to check. When she came back to the phone, I received a "yeah, it's here" response. Maybe she was just having a bad day, so no worries. So I went there that evening to pick up the jacket, and one of the rudest individuals I've ever met was at the register. His demeanor just dripped with contempt: he grabbed the receipt out of my hand, when I extended my hand to collect the jacket from him, he kept walking right past me, and once I did have it, he yanked the jacket out of my hand and said "lemme wrap that up for you" in an incredibly condescending manner. While it's true I didn't spend a $1000 with them, my jacket was still in the $200 range, so it's not as if I was asking him to help me pick up a pair of socks. I merely wanted to pick up the jacket I had already paid for. So, in short, if you want stinky service ranging from disregard to downright rudeness and contempt, then this is your place! But if you'd like to go somewhere that treats you with a modicum of respect (especially considering that you're paying them!), I'd definitely look elsewhere. read more

I went to Men's Wearhouse to see about renting a tuxedo for a wedding. I walked in and mentioned to the counter clerk that I had an appointment to talk about tuxedo rental. He was unaware of anything having to do with tuxedos. A woman piped up that she was the one to talk to about tuxedo rental. This, in essence, describes the entire Tuxedo experience at Men's Wearhouse - a bolted-on experience that they do not because they want to, but because people expect them to. I was ushered to a counter in the back of the store, and handed a binder fill with pictures of tuxedos. I was then told that even though the binder had a lot of choices, only a very small number of the tuxedos came with flat pants. The rest were pleated and wouldn't look very good. So my options at this point were pared down to three tuxedos, and literally the only difference between the three choices was how many buttons the jacket had (one, two, or three). Despite this, I continued on. I asked if I could try on a sample jacket so that I could determine which option would be best. The lady seemed shocked that someone would want to do something as crazy as try on a tuxedo jacket, and informed me that there was no store in existence that had sample jackets in all sizes, as they were all stored in giant warehouses. I amended my request and asked if I could try on just any jacket, regardless of size, to get a feel for the material and just the general style. She assented, but then sat there. We looked awkwardly at one another for a few seconds, then I gestured towards the tuxedo jackets on the mannequins above her and asked if I could try one on now. She replied that those jackets were tacked to the mannequin and would be a pain to remove (customer service is too hard!). However, she could grab a random suit jacket and I could try that on. At this point, I thanked her for her time and left. I made an appointment at a different establishment (a small company in Kirkland that deals exclusively in tuxedos) and had a wonderful experience dealing directly with the owner of the store, including trying on actual jackets in my size. This place is the BEST. I have bought several pieces of clothing here. Suits, shirts, sweaters ect.. but, nothing beats their customer service. I brought one of my suits in to be tailored and taken in as I had lost some weight and the suit hung on me. I really needed the suit because I had a very important job interview. When I went to pick it up it wasn't ready as they had unfortunately become short handed in their tailoring department. Instead of just saying sorry and sending me away empty handed and upset the store Manager Paul came and introduced himself and told me not to worry they were going to take care of me. They set me up in a NEW suit right off the shelf as a loaner. NOT A PURCHASE as he knew I wasn't in position to buy being out of a job. They "upgraded" my look to a more modern and conservative style that was a perfect fit. The only thing needed were the pants to be hemmed. The tailor on site "Patrick" immediately hemmed the pants to a perfect length. What I didn't mention is this all took place at 8:30pm 1/2 hour before closing. The process wasn't rushed selecting the right suit just to get out the door so they could close up shop for the night. They didn't do this because they felt they needed to. They did this because they wanted too. If that's not customer service I don't know what is. There was nothing phoney about anything or anyone that works there. They just confirmed my opinion of Men's Wearhouse as and excellent place to buy quality clothing with superior service. From here on out I won't go anywhere else. About the interview, I felt and looked like a million bucks. Interview went great!! To anyone who doesn't think clothing gives you confidence go to Men's Wearhouse in Redmond. They treat you with respect and make sure you look your absolute best with any purchase. I could write several more praises about them but, I think anyone reading this will get the point. Summary Wedding tuxedo rental for four of us; myself the groom, my two children, the brides father. Choosing and Ordering the tuxedos Choosing and trying on the tuxedos was relatively quick. However, the ordering process and payment process is really lengthy, i would say about 1.5hrs after we made the choice and decided to place the order. Much of it is done by long forms requiring a lot of detail. The price originally quoted ended up being at least 2X on the final bill. Had to spend a bunch of time going through each line item until they reduced it a bit. Basically the long form process is prone to errors so you have to spend a lot of time reviewing it to understand if the final cost is accurate or not. Pickup The pickup process was quick with just trying on the suits for size and taking them home, as long as they do actually fit, here is what happened when they didn't fit: Issue #1 Both of my children's pants were too short by an inch at the fitting. I left the suits with them a couple more hours for alteration and picked them up. When we went to put them on before the wedding and the kids the pants were even shorter, but it was too late to do anything. Quality Everything was fine with the tuxedos and shoes, I had no issues with the clothing except for the kids pants both being several inches too short. Returning the suits It is apparent they attempt to make their money on fees related to a late drop off, I don't think this is right. Here is what happened: Issue #2 When i picked up the suits i noticed they put in a drop off date of the day after (Sunday) the wedding event, right when i would be busy with relatives leaving town. I asked it to be moved out further, I guess they chose the next day (Monday). Never once was anything said about a late fee. My wife returned the tuxedos Tuesday morning around 11:00 AM. She was unaware of anything and they asked her to pay $160, or $40 per tuxedo. They "reduced" it to $80 and she paid it for some reason without calling me. I am going back there tonight and see if they will resolve the late fee and return the $80. I will update the review after. Went in for my measures to be taken for Tux. They were kind, helpful and attentive. The whole process took 5 minutes and all of my questions answered. They have good deals on racks and they not only have classic outfits but also some causal clothing. Again the employees are very helpful and you will for sure will be taken care of. Excellent customer service from Roxanne! One of our suits didn't fit because I furnished poor measurements for a family member. She saved us $45 in tailoring fees by personally picking up the right size from another location. Then they provided rush taylor service to meet a tight deadline. All of the staff we interacted were friendly and service was fast. When we initially went in to purchase my suit, they measured, put a selection of suit, shirt, and tie combinations on a table, we picked our favorite, test drove it in a fitting room, marked it for tailoring, and were out the door in about an hour. I needed a suit for my wedding and was headed over to this general location on another errand so I headed in. Was immediately helped when I walked in the door as there were no other customers in the store at the time. I told the man helping me what I was looking for and was given a few options. He was very patient with me as I had to get a hold of my several people to make sure my choices, that would affect more than just me, were suitable for the purpose. Ended up spending more than I wanted to but I got what I wanted and even got a couple price breaks in the end. All in all, I had a great experience. read more
