Visited here from out of town to buy new college grad clothes for new job. Staff was excellent, well-informed, helpful, considerate, and personable. They gave several options for suits in our budget with pants/shirt/sportcoat combos, as well. The 2 male staff members explained best fit, with thorough explanations and several try-ons to gain a better understanding of what was most appropriate for each setting while wearing suit. This was a stark difference from the Pikesville, MD, where it seemed no one knew anything, and acted like we were a bother. We purchased a suit and several shirts, and will only come here when visiting the area again. Worst experience I have ever had while trying to purchase a suit for my sister's wedding. The salesman was condescending, rude and did not listen to anything I said. I started writing a detailed description of my experience here, but really was not enjoying reliving the experience. Instead I'll summarize: I chose Mens Wearhouse to put together my groomsmen's outfits (khakis, blue jacket, blue vest) because there is one seemingly everywhere. I thought I could walk in, choose an outfit, and it would be easy to make sure everyone could get the same thing. Working with the store manager, it started out great - and he was friendly the whole time - but every time an item would get lost, or they would sell out of something, the whole process would completely unravel and take days to weeks to resolve. When planning a wedding, the last thing you want is one more thing to keep track of, so that was incredibly frustrating to have to keep calling. As prom and wedding season ramped up in April, and my wedding (June) was closing in, this became increasingly worrying. The problems were that, when one of 5 jackets I was purchasing went missing no one, other than the person who placed the order, could help me. If he had quit - there was no way my order could have been completed. Before that, when one pair of pants wasn't available in the right size, it took weeks to communicate this to me. Seven ties I put on hold were sold to another party instead of being held for me. Getting matching ties through Men's Wearhouse is surprisingly painful. When everything was finally put together, they wanted to keep it another few days for tailoring the pants. When I asked them just to just refund me the money so I wouldn't have to come back, the tailor did it on the spot. I also asked to have her shorten one arm on a suit. She ended up shortening both. Once again I was told I would have to wait a few days to have it fixed, but I told them to just not charge me and I'd go elsewhere. They got it done in an hour. The manager didn't charge me for tailoring the suit as an apology. In the end, I was happy with the way everyone looked at the wedding, and the price was reasonable. However, since this was for a wedding every little hick up was amplified by the fact that we were tracking a number of other vendors, and that this was for a group of guys. As a result, for someone looking to put together matching groomsmens outfits, I really can't recommend this Men's Wearhouse. read more

I'll try to keep it short. This is a tale of two experiences: the "purchase" experience and the "pickup" experience. When I went in to purchase a suit, the experience was great. We looked through the suits to find one I liked at a great price, I had the salesman's exclusive attention, and when I walked out I felt like I had a first class experience and got a great suit at a great price. When I went to pick it up, that's when things went south. You get VASTLY different treatment when you've already purchased and paid. You. Can. Wait. I went to pick the suit up, and after getting the bum's rush (since I wasn't bringing any fresh money to the table), I found that my new suit had a bad snag in it. This was after they tried to rush me out the door without trying it on (which is when I noticed the snag). It absolutely ruined the suit to the point where they had to trash that suit and order another one. It took a week for the next one to come in, then another week to tailor the new suit. At no point did they offer a discount for all the back and forth (if you've bought a suit, you know it's a pain in the butt). In fact, they acted like they were doing me a favor by not RE-charging me for the alterations on the replacement suit, and like they were doing me a favor by replacing a suit that they ruined. Tl;dr: When you buy a suit you get the white-glove, red carpet treatment. When you go to pick it up you're an absolute nobody and you can wait. If there's anything wrong with the suit, they will consider you lucky that they're willing to fix it. Find somewhere else to buy a suit. The prices are -decent- but not great, and they will treat you like garbage as soon as you pay (which is only about halfway through your transaction with them). EDIT: (not sure how to respond to comments) I didn't include that I sent an email to the corporate office describing the situation through the website and didn't get so much as a confirmation of receipt in response. Hopefully MW gets it all squared away so nobody else has to deal with that, but you guys have lost a customer for life, and in my business I need a lot of suits. read more

Horrible experience. We purchased almost 3000 dollars worth of clothes and some needed to be altered. We had a promise date of 7/18 in the morning. We go there today and they did nothing. They are claiming the tailor was on vacation and the other one that was going to do it today didn't show us this morning and didn't call because of a family emergency. I asked why we weren't called she said they didn't know it was not done. Really what kind of system to do have. We have a wedding out of town and they don't care and Said" This is Life" Don't rely on them. They will ruin you wedding. read more

We had a fabulous experience suit shopping there today. Our salesman Marvin was genuinely helpful and friendly. He gave us great options and did a wonderful job taking into consideration the gentleman he was selling to had never worn a suit before in his life. We walked out with a full three piece suit, two shirts and two ties for an incredible price as well. This review begins with the Men's Wearhouse in Knoxville, TN where I was measured and fitted for a tux for my daughter's wedding which was to take place in Baltimore, MD on June 19, 2021. The fitting on Saturday June 12th didn't go very well as the tux jacket and shirt were noticeably too large. Because of time and distance constraints, the employee and I agreed that they would reorder the shirt and jacket, and that I would pick up the jacket and shirt in White Marsh, MD anytime after Tuesday June 15th. I arrived in Baltimore on the 16th of June, and went to the White Marsh store on Thursday the 17th. Ms. Kasima B., the store employee greeted me warmly and asked how she could help me. I told her I was there to pick up the reorder from the Knoxville store. She told me they had no such order and after checking, discovered the Knoxville store had reordered, but had the reorder sent back to Knoxville rather than to White Marsh. She then told me that she could reorder the reorder but I probably wouldn't get it until Saturday, the 19th. After seeing me go into full "panic mode", she told me that she might be able to pull some strings and get the shirt and jacket the next day, but it was a long shot. Ms. Kasima B. came thru with flying colors, and I was able to pick up everything on Friday afternoon. She really saved the day for this "father of the bride". Five stars for the White Marsh, MD Men's Wearhouse, and one star for the Knoxville, TN store. Thank you Kasima B.! read more

First off, I can't believe that there aren't more negative complaints about df; this store! I have to agree with EVERYTHING about the previous post by Steven C! This post is very long but very worth it reading if you want to avoid a disaster on your wedding day, and had I not thought to verify for the 3rd time, or tuxes would have been mismatched! (1) My partner and I have a same-sex wedding in 2 weeks, on 9/2, yet we were told we were required to come in 6-months in advance to complete our measurements. According to cutomer relations, that is not their policy! (2) We were also put off by the level of closed-mindedness of everyone in the store, and especially the Operations Manager, Laura Tombaugh. Not only did she clearly not even understand the concept of 2 gay guys getting marrie, but she was almost judgmental about it! I admit that I could have been misreading her tone, so I will give her the benefit of the doubt! That said, she consistently asked questions about the "brida party," which says to me that I don't believe I was incorrect in my assessment. I mean come on, gay men are getting married now! (3) Let me continue with our order. We wanted the groomsmen in the Vera Wang black tuxedos, but we hated the shiny vest that came with it. Laura assured us the matte version which matched the fabric of the tuxedo was not in the stores yet, but wa available way before our wedding. We explained that we wanted the black MATTE vest matching the tux in black, and Laura assured me she would make a note in the system that the order was to be changed as soon as the vest was available. Fine, we appeciated that. When she entered the order in the computer, I again insisted she make a note about the vests, which she assured me she would. The NOTES WERE NEVER MADE (I'll get to how I found out later). (4) The measurements were a joke! The Vera Wang Black is a slim fitting suit designed that way to be modern and the current trend; however, Laura obviously didn't understand that trend. Her measurements clearly had way to much room in the jacket. She measured for a normal regular fitting men's suit, and that would have been fine for non-athletic body types, but it didn't give us the slim look we wanted. Laura assured us those were the correct measurements. Concerned, and in fairness to Laura, she said we had 30 days prior to the wedding to verify the measurement. Not to her credit, her reason she recommended the re-measurement was in the event we lose or gain weight. I assure I have been the same musculature and weight for the pas 8 years, but when I went to get re-measured, a different Laura re-measured me and found my measurements were not correct, and the jacket size fit the shoulders decenlty, but she put me in one size smaller and it was perfect...something Laura never bothered to do even after our concerns over how she measured for a slim-fit tyle...again an Operations Manager. (5) The second Laura who re-verified our fitting did a great job witht he measurements, but when we asked her (and this was in August, 30 days before our wedding), she assured us our order was correct, and the black matte vests had been ordered per our instructions. (6) On 9/9, 2 weeks before the wedding, I got nervous and chatted with an online customer service rep to verify ONE MORE TIME, and found out through John V. (who was an amazing help by the way), that the order had NO NOTES ABOUT THE VESTS, THE VESTS WERE INCORRECT, AND WE WERE SUPPOSED TO CALL THE STORE OURSELVES BECAUSE HE COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEIR ONLINE SYSTEM WAS READ ONLY. He also informed us to change the vests (because Laura never entered our request for the right vests) would result in a $20 PER PERSON CHANGE FEE, and something they could not override in the system, and that I would need to call the store directly to waive the fee and ask them to make the changes. He also suggeste I call customer relations (who again was a big help in getting the issue resolved). Online customer service should have the same capabilities to make order changes and waive fees! (7) JWK9 in Customer Relatons was amazing and gave me a gurantee that everything would be perfect. As he started to review the myriad of problems, he noticed more mistakes besides vests (wrong ties for the dads, 3 wrong style numbers for the vests, and the fact that there was NO MANAGER ON DUTY AT THE STORE TO ASSIST US IN WAIVING FEES)! The day of the wedding could have resulted in a meltdown, so if there is any lesson here DON'T use this location, and DON'T trust their word! Double, triple check your order is correct! read more

After measurements they ordered me a suit 3 sizes too large (425$) so they could up-sell the tailoring package to take everything in (75$). The only member of the wedding party who had a properly fitting suit was the groom who ordered off the rack and took it to a real tailor. Everyone else trusted mens warehouse and got screwed. The father of the bride had a suit way too small, mine was still way too big and the best man couldn't even get his jacket on. Do yourself a favor and spend a fraction of the money on a suit anywhere else and take it to an independent tailor who won't screw you just for fun read more

I do not recommend that anyone go into Mens Wearhouse with the anticipation that a rental suit will fit you if you are an athletic build (i.e. tall, long arms, basketball physique). They do NOT give you this disclaimer when they book you for an appointment. Both of my groomsmen were turned away by two different locations (Towson's and Glen Burnie) the latter which initially said they could fit them and determined after their 2nd trip in that they could not accommodate the sizing! I am 3 weeks out from my wedding because my fiancee and I had no idea of their sizing limitations. Please be cognizant of this if you are an athletic build, dont want it to happen to the next person. I was looking for a suit to match my wife's dress for a formal Christmas party. I had already checked the big name department stores and wasn't interested in their selection. I was at Whitemarsh Mall and decided to try the Men's Wearhouse across the street at the Avenue. My wife and I arrived and were both nicely greeted and asked what we were shopping for. After a little small talk I told the employee what color suit I was looking for. The employee quickly went from the light gray suit I requested to the dark gray suit she wanted to sell. I was open minded and looKed at the dark grey suits even though it wasn't even close to the color I asked for and wasn't shown any suits in the color I asked for. After some suits were set out for me I told her this was for a Christmas party and I wouldn't be wearing the suit often so I was looking to spend about 250$. Well the attitude of the employee completely changed when I wasn't willing to spend 700$ on a suit. I was looked at like I wasn't worth her time and she moved onto another customer she was attending to at the same time. I was pushed off to an employee that I could tell was hourly and not commission. The young girl that assisted me after that was great. The first girl said he has a budget of no more then 250$ insultingly again like I wasn't good enough to be in the store and I was wasting her time. The second girl reassuringly said there's nothing wrong with a budget and went right over and found me much nicer suits then the first girl was showing me and they were under my price point, not over, like the first one was pushing on me. We ended up not buying anything and going with my 250$ suit at home that is much nicer then the first 4-700$ suits I was being pushed to. Little does the sales women know because I make well over six figures and could easily afford the nicest suit in the store but it would go to wast as I don't wear suits daily. I was told years ago by a very smart investor a quick quarter is better then a slow buck. That salesperson missed out on her quick quarter chasing the slow buck. I would never go back to this store again nor will I ever spend money because I'm being bullied or pushed into it. I should have known better because when we arrived I did hear her telling the other gentlemen she was waiting on, not to buy the pants he picked out because she was trying to sell him on a full suit. The other girl and a guy working there seemed very nice and I wished they would have helped me from the start. It's money hungry sales people like this one that drive business down and away. You know when you have a recurring nightmare? Well, let's just say renting a tuxedo from this place feels the same way. Perhaps other Men's Wearhouses are okay, but I'd strongly advise you to avoid this particular store at all costs! I just got married, and as with most grooms (I think), we did our tuxedo rentals through MW. Don't get me wrong, the convenience of multiple locations is awesome, but this particular store was horrendous to deal with. We went there 4-5 times and something was wrong every time. 1) It's like none of the people there know how to do more than one thing. Each time we went, we must've had to wait for them to ask another associate to come help because they didn't know how to enter the receipt information, or pull up the right information, or whatever. 2) I ordered a tuxedo (for purchase), and when I arrived, they had decided to PUT IT BACK ON THE RACK TO SELL... How do you do this?! It was specially ordered in my size.... AND THEY TRY TO SELL IT BEFORE I PICK IT UP?! 3) RUDE. My wife (fiancee at the time) and I walked in to look at tuxedos for purchase, and one of the associates asked us what we were there to do. When I asked if I could try one any tuxedo jackets for the look and size, he sneered and said, "I'm sorry, you can't try on the tuxedo merchandise." Uhh... how the hell do you sell clothes then? Luckily, we actually found someone who wasn't a moron who let us try some coats on. 4) Try to help out the customer when they're in a bind... c'mon! I understand that this last one is partially our fault, but I think any other business would've accommodated our request. We were trying to return the tuxedos, but for some reason there was monstrous traffic on the way there. We were running late, so I called ahead to see if they wouldn't mind keeping the store open for a couple minutes (we were really close). They said they had to leave right on the dot at 6pm. We decided to go for it anyway since we were almost there. We pulled up at 6:01 (no joke), watched the manager lock the front door and walk away. I ran up to one of the other employees coming out, and said I had the tuxes (he literally had walked out of the store 5 seconds before I caught him), and he said there was nothing he could do. While I completely understand we were the ones that were late, I would expect a LITTLE help and understanding for someone who just brought you customers... So, if you need a tux for prom, a wedding, whatever, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. If you have to go to MW for the conveniece (like I had to) I understand, but at least try another location!!! read more

I would have given them 5 stars when I made my purchase, 0 stars when I want to return it, a punch in the face would have made more sense. 2 days after buying shoes the asst. Manager tells me they don't return shoes, the 90 day return policy on my receipt and online don't say shoes are unreturnable, but they are according to them, no problem, every other store in the world will do it but not you guys, no problem... But I'll ask my boss I'm just the asst manager. This clown walks over and tells me I need to find a new place to buy shoes, I'll do it, but you need to shop elsewhere, walks away. Said I returned my last pair too, i can't just buy shoes and return them, my jaw is dropped...by the way they ordered my last pair at they're register and were the wrong color so I returned them without taking them out the box, theyre fault, then they corrected it and I kept them! none the less I shouldn't return to spend my money there based on that. Usually you don't tell customers that as they're the reason you have a job, but me returning a shoes that hurts my feet after 2 days is reason for it I guess. Completely unsatisfied with this location. They have monopoly on wedding attire for men. Our first interaction was nothing but pleasant. Thank goodness we went WAY in advance because they ordered the incorrect color of shirts for groomsmen, placed blame on groom, misplaced a tie, and this was all after the ENTIRE PARTY PURCHASED THEIR SUITS! I am irate we were convinced and did anything more than rent with this place. After EVERYTHING they screwed up, they laughed at the situation. Completely unprofessional. One star because I cannot give anything less. In all honesty, the wedding party looked amazing in their suits but this location only caused more frustration and issues with wedding planning. If I could rate them 0 stars, I would. When I ordered originally, the lady seemed to have no idea what she was doing at all. Then when I called a couple months later to confirm, they had the wrong date down for my wedding. I was one call away from not having a tux for my own wedding. When I came to pick up the tux, the pants were so baggy they looked like clown pants and I was basically told "too bad thats just how they are". This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We originally went to rent a tuxedo for a formal wedding we are attending but ended up just buying a black suit. The man helping us gave us a $669 Calvin Klein suit which fit my boyfriend nicely however we were looking for something a little more cost effective. When I asked if they had anything in a similar cut that was a little less expensive, the employee told me they did not and more or less forced our hand in purchasing the suit. He recommended a size large because my boyfriend is broader in the arms, chests, and shoulders which then forced us to get alterations. I specifically asked how much alterations would be and they told me roughly $12 for the pants and a few extra for the jacket and "not like $100 or anything". Once getting to the register, the alterations came to $115.00 and I felt as though I had been lied to straight to my face. We were then told that someone would call us once the alterations were finished which would be around April 20th. On the 25th we had not received a call so I called the store to check and see if it was ready. I had a gentlemen tell me that "if they said it would be ready on the 20th then it was ready." I kindly asked him if I could give him the name and have him confirm since we didn't receive a call before we drove over there. He told me "I have customers in the store and that everything due to be completed last week was completed" and basically hung up. This was very disrespectful and rude. My boyfriend called back furious with the customer service asking to speak to the manager and apparently the man I spoke with WAS the manager. We then went into the store to pickup the suit and couldn't get anyone to help us. Finally we got someone to retrieve the suit and my boyfriend tried it on and it looked like a cat rolled around on it. We asked about the dirtiness of the suit and were informed we should get it dry cleaned because it came back from the factory and that was standard. SO YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT I SPENT $800 ON A SUIT AND CAN'T GET THE TIME OF DAY AND THEN ARE TOLD TO GO GET IT DRY CLEANED!!!! We ended up walking out of the store suit in hand, not even in a bag FURIOUS. I will never go back there and will never recommend this store. We went across the street to Boscov's and had great service and saw the same suit for half the price. DO NOT GO TO MEN'S WEARHOUSE IN WHITE MARSH! read more
