We were driving south on I 17 today and 2 of the Mentor moving trucks entered the highway at an entrance. Traffic was heavy and we were in the right lane but no where to go. Then on our right the 2 moving trucks pushed through on the right in the shoulder and swerved into us. It was a miracle that we did not end up in a horrible wreck. Cars had to pull over on the left so we could swerve and not get hit. Do not hire this company! They clearly are not hiring safe people to drive all of your belongings. read more

Public Storage raised the rent on my two units (which I've had for over 10 years) and the only way to decrease those rentals, was to move everything to two new units. My movers arrived at my storage unit before I did. They were there to load - only. I was having difficulty with my Penske car trailer set up (but that's a different review). My movers waited patiently, and when I arrived (about 40 minutes late), they both were pleasant, professional, efficient, and everything was loaded within the 3-hour minimum. And the cherry on top? When I reached my destination 1200 miles away (did some bumpy, mountainous terrain towards the end of my trip) everything in the truck was mostly in the same place it had been put. Impressive. After the sales person realised that they weren't going to make any more money off the sales he refused services! Saying that this wasn't a good fit! Lying to me and changing the story about their business practices! He now claims the cost would be over $1000 because he knew I couldn't afford such a price after speaking with me over why I didn't go with their moving company! Buyer be wear!!! They were great. What's going on in California is no joke, and a lot of us are shell-shocked. They listened to what we needed, they did everything that was asked, they were clear about what was within their limitations, they hustled, and they got it done in the morning. As disabled seniors, we weren't expecting them to go beyond a few things, but they did. Keep in mind these are movers. We didn't ask for packing, and we've downsized our lives quite a bit. What little art and precious items we have, we moved ourselves in this cross-town move. But with an aging family and a 1% market, the time crunch and need for an affordable company to get us through this was a necessity. I can't imagine anyone doing any better, so thanks all! read more

Moved me three times and was the most disorganized moving company with no record my furniture in storage. Also moved the storage unit with my things scattered among both there location. Never advised me and I personally spent two days helping to locate my units. They stored my art work and thousands of dollars of furniture in overcrowded pods with no accounting of contents 3 beds with 3 different pods and had to pay and hire another company to put my beds together. They dropped and ruined a two year old expensive couch , broke 3 lamps,& crushed chairs made out of expensive fabric. They scratched my new desk and art work had to be sent to framers because of damage. They also delivered to my home out of state with a shuffleboard without pieces later sent it broken . I applied for insurance coverage and they discounted it to nothing and never paid. They efficiently stayed in contact with me through the completion of the move of my 92 year old father to a retirement community today. The movers were friendly, patient and experienced. UPDATE ** I got a call and there is some confusion on materials and they actually went over budget by almost 20% and I owe another $500 but they have not provided the back up so this issue is not yet resolved. From the first moment until the last this was the best experience. Upon intake (which was actually pretty fast) they were thorough and made it easy with their step by step process. They start with sq ft, then how many rooms, a quick verbal of what is in each room and that fast I had an accurate and reasonable quote. I was sold and immediately booked it for the following week. I received email confirmations, text reminders and a follow up confirmation call a few days before their appointment just to reconfirm and an opportunity to add things I may have forgotten (like my artwork) They confrimed the 8 am start time and they rang my doorbell at 7:57 AM. So excited they were not late and that I was not left just sitting around waiting. During intake they assured me they would be prepared, professional and efficient. And yes they were!! They had my 3 bedroom 2 bath house completely packed by 1:00. I even got a phone call from my husband to tell me they were kicking butt, he was absolutely thrilled and impressed by their hard work. They returned the next day to load our trailer, and yes that too was another wonderful experience. They showed up on time and had it loaded before lunch time. They also came in under budget. On a side note, 2 different families I know hired a moving company (NOT MENTOR) and we heard horror stories about no shows, lazy workers, broken items and damage to walls. The actual movers were very good, they worked very hard and were very friendly and helpful. Our only issue we had was at time of charging the resting balance we were charged 3% for using the card, if we would have known that in advance we would have paid cash. That makes me feel as though there was some dishonesty there. It would have been more professional to let us know from the beginning and let us decide from there what we wanted to do. Francisco and his team were amazing! They were right on time (literally on the minute) and were very communicative from our initial handshake. They ensured that all doorways and floors were protected. We're very cautious with all of our furniture and ensured it was wrapped properly. I'm guessing because we were moving from a 1000 square foot condo the owner decided his freshman team of movers could handle the job. We usually use bulwark movers and were completely caught off guard by how awful these guys were. They took a break after every item they put on the truck and it took them close to an hour to breakdown and put together our bed (we only had 1 bed. Our twin bed was only on rails). Now that we have been in our new home for a few months I have noticed they ripped our mattress (and didn't tell us), scratched our dresser (and didn't tell us), broke a dinning room chair (and didn't tell us), they also broke a lamp but they owned up to that. We paid $600 to be moved and now need to spend more than that to replace the damaged property. I would like to note that they do have movers who are capable.
