Did not buy shoes but was very happy with customer service. There was one person working at the store, and he was happy to bring me pair after pair of booties, trying to find something that would fit my wide feet. I found that the made in France Mephisto shoes with natural rubber soles were quite comfortable, but my feet were just a little bit too wide for them and were hanging over the sole on the side. I have been in a lot of shoe stores lately and I really appreciated that he didn't want to argue with me about what my foot did - or didn't - need! He was very nice about "this one might work, try it and we will see." These are very high quality shoes, made to be kept for a long time and resoled. I hadn't tried on this brand before and I felt like there were stylish options (platform combat boots, black booties, etc) in addition to the more sensible options. These shoes are expensive but intended for folks that will keep them for a long time. It was an entirely pleasant experience even if I didn't buy shoes. read more

I have purchased several pairs of Mephisto shoes from this business over the past 25 years, and have always had excellent service whether the day's agenda involved purchasing, fixing, reconditioning my shoes, or replacing worn insoles. Michael is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to selecting the right shoes, and ensuring that they fit properly. I've never been a fan of buying clothing and shoes online. Mephisto shoes are handcrafted, and there can be slight variations in fit. Definitely best to try on the pair you want. This store is small, but if you can catch Michael when he's not swamped with other customers, you will be rewarded with very attentive service. read more

I ordered online and received an email to verify size (even though my order confirmation had the correct size). I emailed back to confirm and didn't get a reply. I emailed AGAIN a few times asking about shipping or if I should make my way to the store for pick up - did not get a reply. Finally just called and was told they told out of the size. Were they just going to keep my money without telling me my size was out? I was REALLY looking forward to these sandals too. Oh well. read more

Holly went way beyond the call of duty to help me with my order. These are expensive but well worth it. The quality is top-of-the-line well beyond Birkenstocks. They lasted over 4 years after being worn every day! And they give me orthopedic support since they're my primary shoes I wear all the time. Anyhow I give kudos to Holly and her store. read more

This is purely service based...and mostly about lack there of. I'm headed to Europe on Monday and desperately need comfy shoes. My husband agreed to sit in the car w the rowdy kids while I ran in to shop. As we arrived he needed to use the facilities at Starbucks and ran in while I waited in the car. He was gone less than 2 mins when the store employee came rap-tap-tapping on my car window to tell me (as I'm in the drivers seat engine running mind you ) that this parking spot is for customers only. I shared w her that my husband was in Starbucks using the restroom and asked if we could remain until he returned. Nope...she told me I was not allowed to be there if I was not a customer. I apologized and began to move my car...to make sure she drove her point home she SLAPSl the customer only sign (had she given me two more minutes I would have been) and freaking points at it like I'm an idiot!! I said screw this kind of treatment...and when my husband returned to my new spot not 5 steps away and before I even had the car in park we just went across the street to Nordstrom where btw I had WONDERFUL SERVICE! And for the record found a great pair of Eccos for our trip. I understand this woman felt the need to mark her territory but in this circumstance was way out of line. I am sharing a horrible experience-- this store has a super vague return-policy; I was trying to return an item within 2 days of the initial sale and they said no --sales are final? seriously ? how such a thing is possible when you don't indicate anything in your receipts .... This man was extremely rude and Literally stared at me for several minutes for parking in the "reserved for Mephisto" parking spot ( thinking i was not going into the store) I had every intention on going inside Mephisto and getting my dad a pair shoes he wanted for Christmas. I was on the phone with my sister while she was giving me an update on some tough life situations she was battling and he just stared as the picture shows. I absolutely will go to another store for his shoes. Just for the way that man made me feel sitting in my car before I went into the store to purchase. Not a way to treat customers. Just went to check out the sale going on at the Bellevue store and experienced the worst customer service ever. I can't believe such a prestigious brad would have such poor service, so not consistent with what the brand represents. First time ever when I expect to spend $200-$300 for a pair of shoes that I am treated like it is a problem that I want to buy a pair of shoes from them. I already own two other pairs of Mephistos My question: What is your return policy on sale items. Answer: It is final sale. Me: Even if I have not worn them outside? There is a reason this place has no business and will likely close soon. As I parked my car and walked around a plant to get to the sidewalk, a clerk literally ran out to demand I move my car ASSUMING not asking if I would visit the store. I WAS actually planning on popping in but due to this outrageous interaction I left. This establishment needs a lesson in customer service. read more

I've been going to this store for close to 12 years and have purchased many pairs of shoes from the owner himself. Michael is the most knowledgeable, caring and helpful person I've found to assist me with my purchases. I've had problems with plantar fasciitis and tendinitis over the years and he is the person to see if you're suffering from either of these issues. The quality and comfort of Mephisto shoes stand on their own, but when you add a knowledgeable and compassionate owner who really cares about the relationships he has with his clients it's the perfect combination. read more

EXCELLENT customer service! I had never purchased Mehpisto shoes before so I went in there to get more info. The store was quite busy for its size, there were about 5-6 other people in the there and one of the 2 employees, Shawn, greeted us and started helping us immediately. I told him that I was just looking and not ready to buy yet and expected to get blown off or minimal help, it was just the opposite. Considering the price, I wanted to be sure the sizing was correct and see the quality and comfort of the shoe firsthand (I had heard they run big, that was somewhat of an understatement!) I told him I was considering ordering online for the cashback discount and that did not deter his level of service at all. He sized my foot and fitted me in about 5 different pairs in 2 different models. He gave me a lot of great information and things to consider, even if I went with another brand. The amount of attention and time he spent with me was amazing for any visit, but especially considering how full the store was. I also asked about returns and if I wear them could I return. He was clear but polite, and I suggested I wear them indoors only - if they had excessive wear on the soles they may not accept for returns - which is pretty standard for shoes in my experience. Also, I too have found that some shoes fit better after a 'break-in'. But in general my experience is if they are uncomfortable when you buy them, they will stay that way. IMO - a shoe with a good fit should be comfortable from day one. I had planned on ordering online but after that experience I decided to buy in the store and will continue patronize and support this business. read more

It's unfortunate that people have to leave false statements about the customer service. When you get down to it they only have one parking spot and people everyday are taking advantage and parking in there one spot to run somewhere else . If you park in mephisto spot you should be going to mephisto or at least letting them know you will be coming in. Yesterday I went to Mephisto for shoes to alleviate foot pain and had the most wonderful experience!!! Shawn was an expert salesman and artist who literally built up an insole for my extremely arched feet from pads and inserts, helped me try on about ten different pairs, with incredible patience and wisdom, and zero pressure. I LOVE this store! Mephisto is created in France of course- and the shoes are like walking on clouds. The shoes are also sexy and environmentally friendly- so green- you can get the entire shoe rebuilt for $75 whenever it wears thin, so that the shoes could potentially last decades. My aches and pains are gone and my feet feel fashionable and beautiful in them! These people are experts! Five stars and great experience. The only shoes I will ever buy, from now on, are Mephisto! Excellent service from Sean. He was absolutely one of the best knowldged person about shoes. Very patiently he worked to get the right size for me. Will buy again! They pay for parking sign so they can keep the business for their clients not for some Starbucks coffee people. I parked in front of the store so I can buy my shoes. I exchanged the shoes with a differnt size because I wore them at home to tes NOT in the street. Please give a credit for their good services !! I'm a fan of the shoes: I own three pairs. They're expensive, but this store always has a sale rack with good discounting so I've never paid full freight. Customer service is good, selection is good, and the guy treated my suede pair so they won't stain before I left the store. He also offered a free shine anytime. What's not to like? read more

I can't imagine buying shoes anywhere else than Mephisto Bellevue. Michael and his staff are very professional and have deep expertise on shoes and on the industry. The customer service is excellent; friendly, helpful, not pushy at all. Actually it's one of the few places in Bellevue where you can go in and just enjoy chatting with the staff. Old School. And the shoes are simply the best out there. A great outfit starts from the ground up, and this is the place to make that happen. Just today I went in to check on the status of a pair of shoes that I turned in for new soles, and I noticed that the Melchior model (one of their standards) had gone on sale. This was a disappointment because I had just bought them at normal full price. Without hesitation Michael offered to credit the difference to my account. That's superlative customer service and it's what you expect from high quality retail. I'm an extremely satisfied customer; Mephisto Bellevue really takes care of you. Don't get caught in the wrong parking spot in this store's lot. Last week I was handed a $40 ticket from their parking company, ABM Parking Services. Definitely tempers my enthusiasm for the stores located here. I guess I violated the lot rules, but as a paying customer in this and other stores in this center, I thought this was a bit of a heavy-handed penalty.
