One of those shoe stores where (if they're busy) you write your name down on a list and then, when your name is called, they help you as long as you need help, however long that is. I've been here twice so far and have gotten great service. For my first visit, a gentleman helped me try on several pairs of running shoes; I ended up with a Brooks Glycerin 20. It's ok (foot still hurts, but other shoes hurt more, epic foot saga omitted from this review.) The amazing thing he recommended are the very $$$ but totally worth it Currex high profile run pro insoles - I bought two pair and I'm really glad I did. I've put those in every shoe I'm wearing now and at least they enable me to walk. Major props to the salesman that helped me for listening rather than pushing his own viewpoints on shoes. I much prefer "try this, I'm not sure it will work, but let's try anyways" perspective! They have a good selection of running-type shoes, and a reasonable selection that veers towards the "orthopedic look". The second time I came here I came for a non-running shoe. The female salesperson helped me try on a LOT of shoes but we weren't able to find something that was super comfortable. And unfortunately, only about 20% of what we tried on - comfortable or no - would be something that would spark joy, if that makes sense. Most of the styles were very sensible. read more

My podiatrist referred me to this shop due to my extensive bunion surgery & recovery that has been difficult & needed the right shoes to help me rehabilitate. I went in & looked around & waited a minute for help as they were busy with other customers. Chris promptly greeted me as soon as he had a chance & was so knowledgeable & helpful! My podiatrist filled out a form explaining what I needed so Chris went right to work to find the best options for me. He then measured both of my feet to be accurate on size & also took note of how I was standing. He then gave me the massage gun to work on my poor muscles that needed stretching after being stuck in a boot for 2 months. He gave me 2 shoe options & I preferred the one with the most support & he also added a arch support- wow! Finally my foot is not is horrible pain! Yep, I have horriable feet which in the past have caused me great pain. After wearing all of the really cute shoes as a teen and in my 20's and totally killing my feet I have to say my feet are finally so comfortable, thanks to the help I received at Shoes N. Feet. I came to Shoes n Feet in September as a friend of mine had said that they had really helped her and fitted her into Dansco shoes. I purchased my first pair and seriously do not want to put anything else on my feet. I went in there again today for advise, and the staff answered all my questions. They spend great time with you while fitting you to the correct shoe. They let you know what to expect of the shoe and what they can do to help if there is any problems. The customer service is great. Don't expect to just breeze in here, tell someone what size you think you are and be done with it. Disappointed with my experience here. I came in here last summer to get some help with inserts for shoes. One of my friends got custom tennis shoes made for her at a competitor on the other side of the area, and I came in here looking for the same kind of deal since it was closer to me. The guy that helped me for the two minutes we talked was pleasant, but he informed me that he couldn't assist without a prescription from a physician. He said they also don't do custom tennis shoes but could help find inserts, etc. that would work but only with a doctor's note. Flash forward to this past week when I was in the neighborhood and came in with my prescriptions in tow. I was on the left side of the store, as they have it divided in half with a huge wall. There was just one customer being helped by one employee. He looked at me sideways and said someone would help me in a minute. I stood there for 10 minutes with not another word from him. I walked over into the other side and was ignored for another 5 minutes. I left. read more

Tried to return the shoes I bought, within the designated return period, and the guy refused to even look at my shoes or receipt to say he would not accept my return . Don't shop here, go to a bigger store that will honor their policies on returns . This is a mom and pop store that will hang on to every dollar even if it means violating their own policies. Gretchen has always been SO helpful - with great knowledge to pick the new Spire 361 since it is similar to my beloved ASICS 2170s before ASICS changed things too much. Went in to have my gait analyzed and was looking for the proper running shoe. Met with Chris who was knowledgeable, friendly and recommended a few pairs for me to try on. There was no pressure or up sell at all. Ended up with a pair of New Balance and an insole which has helped my running progress more than I anticipated. A few years ago it was recommended to me by a foot doctor that I buy some slippers with arch support here to help with my plantar fasciitis. I got a lot of good help at the time and got some Halfingers that quickly fixed the problem. I've worn the hell out of them since and went in to get a replacement pair. A very helpful young woman (Summer) helped me find the right size (they only come in European sizes) and ordered me a pair (since they didn't have my size in stock that day). I noticed they also sold running shoes. I've been needing a new pair and asked about some new Hoka One Ones. I've loved this brand in the past but have a terrible time finding people who know enough about them to help me find the right pair. Summer answered all of my questions and even offered info I didn't even think to ask. She also watched me walk and verified what I've long suspected (that I supinate) and helped me find some wonderful shoes that I'm excited to try out. Know that you're not going to get many words in edgewise with Summer, but you'll come out with the right shoes at least. ;) Prices and selection here aren't going to wow you, but they are competitive and the service is top notch. It is so refreshing to go to a store where the salespeople are knowledgeable! Justin was also very patient and had some great problem- solving skills. We tried several sizes, widths, inserts and I ended up with tennis shoes, boots and sandals. I learned a lot about why I had been continuing to have problems with shoes after surgery and how to solve those problems. When I asked how he knew so much, he told me about the extensive training each salesperson goes through. I have nothing but praise for staff that works there. I have been buying shoes exclusively there for over 12 years - and have had nothing but a good experience. The staff are non-commissioned sales people that GET YOU WHAT YOU NEED, they are just not just selling shoes. My purchase yesterday (two pairs, 1 casual and the other work shoes, totaling over $250) were facilitated by Brandon. He's also helped this summer with finding me dressy sandals that I needed for a wedding that not only fit, they were comfortable, cute and reasonably priced. I have really weird issues: wide feet, thick feet, high in-step, need a deep toe box... and I have ALWAYS been able to be fitted with shoes that work. Are they the most fashionable? Not always - but there is a good selection of nice looking shoes. Are they inexpensive? NO, however, you do get what you need and pay for. read more

When I first started getting serious about running, I averaged 3-6 miles three times a week. I continued this for about half a year until I started developing unrelenting shin splints and also an irregular soreness in my quadriceps. I figured shin splints were inevitable for runners. It had me asking myself, what kind of weed are runners smoking that they are willing to endure this type of pain? After unproductive visits to several shoe stores in the Redmond/Bellevue/Kirkland area, I came across Shoes N Feet. I told one of the staff members about my shin splints and general muscle imbalance that I feel when I run. That marks the time when she slapped me across the face with a reality check and was all, news flash: your $50 pair of running shoes is as comfortable as one would expect. Amateurs. She set me up on a machine to analyze my foot profile, and found out that my feet have a normal arch but there is also obvious pronation. Awesome, but sad that I did not realize this sooner. So she gave me a pair of Brooks shoes along with some inserts that would provide padding. I walked back and forth for her to evaluate how the shoes are fitting. The difference between a proper running shoe and an ill-fitting running shoe is grounds for a Mardi Gras party with all of the drinks on me. I purchased these shoes with the inserts, and I have never experienced any running pain again (provided that I stretched and warmed up properly). Since then, when I need to replace running shoes, I always go to Shoes N Feet in Bellevue. All of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about foot problems and the solutions for them. They are also patient and even made sure the shoe inserts fit the pair of shoes I wanted. But when I was helped I realized how much attention I received. I first went to Shoes N Feet in 2012, after I developed painful plantar faciitis. I needed to find something supportive for my daily walking around, but I have narrow feet that can be tough to fit. Cindy was very helpful - she took the time to listen to my concerns and carefully measure my feet. After trying a few sets of shoes, she matched me with a pair of Brooks plus some solid inserts. These shoes provided immediate relief and helped me in the process of recovery these past several months. Fast forward to May 2013. I had a wedding to attend, and I realized at the last minute that my pretty shoes wouldn't work for the location. I wanted some cute shoes that wouldn't wreck my feet, and I needed them immediately (my flight was hours away). Fortunately, Cindy was again happy to help me. She offered a few choices to complement my dress, and about 20 minutes later I walked out with a comfy, cute pair of dress shoes. So the shoe witchery: not as promised. That computerized gait machine.. well, at least it's not in a landfill? Their website advises that you allow an hour for fitting and configuring shoes with inserts. That's the draw, right? Their experts will frankenstein you some shoes from inserts and whatnot. I walked away empty handed after waiting an hour and the salesperson I was assigned had some listening difficulties - and some sensitivity difficulties. As somebody whose feet are probably only about a 3/10 with regard to being totally messed up, I wouldn't feel comfortable going here blind, without a very specific note from my doctor. Other orthopedic shoe stores I've been to have had a much more intimate and respectful atmosphere - this just seemed like a jam packed shoe store. Getting in and out of a wheelchair to walk around in shoes isn't something to be taken lightly for everybody - I particularly noticed one salesperson talking much louder than her customers, even when they were disclosing medical details. My podiatrist recommended this store to me after I'd been fitted for orthotics. Based on the website - which claims "you don't have to compromise style for comfort!" I thought maybe I could give this place a go. After all, they specialized in *all kinds* of feet, right? They'd measure my feet and then be able to order a pair that I could wear, right? Wrong. I later learned, no thanks to this store, that shoes have width measurements as well as length measurements. My feet are apparently double-wide size 10 for most styles. Stores generally don't carry that specific of a width for whatever reason. So I came in, and the guy was nice enough but the only shoes he could find for me in women's styles that would fit were really, really... dowdy. It was either those, or men's Birkenstocks which I could not fit my orthotics in anyway. He was apologetic about the whole thing and recommended special wide-shoe store in Renton somewhere. I tried to get a size so that maybe I could order a pair of nice shoes from this store - a last chance, if you will - but he said that all shoe companies are different and then told me the mens' sizing of the Birkenstocks that I wore which was not in the least helpful because I wanted women's shoes. I am really frustrated with this store because I came here thinking that they would take care of me no matter what kind of feet I had and that it wasn't a big deal. But no, feet that are slightly wider than usual are out of their realm of normalcy. I left feeling frustrated and humiliated that I had such big ugly feet that they couldn't condescend to deal with. I had already been going through shoe stores at that point and this place was another failure on my journey. For all you ladies out there with WIDE FEET, DON'T GO HERE. They don't know the first thing about wide feet. Try ZAPPOS.COM instead because a) you can search by shoe width and b) they do returns/switches absolutely free so that you can try out a size and if it doesn't work, get the next width up without any hassle.
