I've been using Meraki spa for over three years and I always receive professional manicures and pedicures from their staff.

I had a really poor gel removal here. The nail tech PEELED of my gel without soaking. It was extremely painful and I kept telling him to stop. Finally he did and soaked the rest. While he peeled off the gel a layer of nail came with it. He left my nails rough, not nicely buffed and didn't apply oil or anything nourishing when finish. read more

Front desk staff was horrible. I arrived on time for my mani/pedi that I booked online with a specific tech, to find someone else in her chair. Was offered another tech but declined and had to wait 35 for the person I booked with. I asked if I could get my eyebrows waxed while I waited but was told they had no availability. I went to Marshall's next door to kill time and was called saying they could do my eyebrows. I immediately walked back over to be told my time had expired and they no longer had time for a wax. No apologies or discount given for their mixup. So very disappointed with them! read more

I have visited this salon prior to my manicure and have felt that the service given was very good. However, today, the service was absolutely horrible. I arrived for my 9:30 signature manicure , got settled by 9:35 ish and by 9:52 I was completely done. If you choose that service please be aware that your service is quick, with no ...extras....and extras I mean, hot towels, hot rocks, hand massage, and hand cream. I will be honest and say, Ken, put a tiny tiny drop of hand cream on the back of my hands after my nails had been polished. No arm massage ,fingers,palms, nothing. Service costs 25$ for 15 minutes. That's expensive in my book for the services or lack of that I received. Water in the bowl I placed my fingers in was frigid and space wasn't as clean as I had hoped. Disappointing and expensive with much lack of attention to detail. Time for another salon. read more

I've been here a few times because it's easy to get a last minute appointment. I always get a gel manicure. The next day, there were dents and chips in one nail. After day two, my thumb started to chip and within just a few days, several nails were ready to pop off. I finally had to pop the pinky off because it kept getting caught on things. The customer service is fine and the tech worked diligently, but every time I go here my manicure has only lasted a few days. I keep going back with the hopes it will last. I'm disappointed because I spent money to have this last me into at least the new year. I will not be returning, unfortunately. read more

I just received the pamper me pair from Ken. I'm 8 months pregnant and really look forward to a good massage and Ken finally delivered. I've been to several other people and nail salons and always get a half-assed massage. He took his time and both my nails and toes look amazing. I'll be asking for him in the future. Prior to this appointment which I booked at my last visit which was great, I received a call asking if I could come in earlier, I could not make that work so showed for my originally scheduled appointment. Ken seemed very rushed the whole time, sprayed cold water on my toes, no massage..then at the fill portion did not ask about length or shape filed the nails down (still had cracks from original se) and started applying the dip. I asked if he could make them shorter? Because, he never asked. It was a service that I couldn't wait to be over. I just went to Tracy at Meraki for the first time. I had a GREAT experience. I had a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. The place was so clean and inviting. They used all disposable products. Tracy was amazing and has great attention to detail. I also love that they don't use electric tools on your natural nails. I will absolutely be back! read more

I was very disappointed in my "spa pedicure for $85". I paid for hot stone massage which I did not receive and she put the paraffin wax on the top of my feet. Maybe that right for this store however I have never seem that below. The idea of paraffin wax is for the heal, toes, bottom of your feet, right? I will not be back. read more

I have been going here for over a year now, and I have always been happy with my nails! I usually have either Ken or Tom and I have never had a bad service. Copy of the email I sent to the salon and have yet to receive a response to. Hi, I visited the nail salon with my mother, a friend, my daughter and niece. We had a horrible experience. The reviews for the salon were so spectacular but nothing about our experience was even satisfactory. We are in town for my sister's wedding and we were hoping for nice nails for tomorrow. We were not given the time or care or experience we expected. Two of us have polish around our nails and two adults also have polish that is already peeling and bubbled. The layers are just peeling and the polish is chipping. It is going to look horrible for the wedding and we need to remove it. This was a horrible experience that we spent a lot of money on. I'm so angry and frustrated. I am attaching photos. I am disgusted by how little they cared about us. While the nail service was ok, the customer service here is horrendous. As a long standing customer, I was recently charged with a no show fee for an appointment I didn't make. The manager essentially called me a liar and did not consider the fact that I've always showed up on time for appointments. They'd rather lose a loyal customer than credit a small refund for what appears to be a snafu. Stay away. They don't care about customer service here. After 4 years of patronage, despite mediocre quality of craftsmanship, I will never get my nails done here again. I had an appointment on a Sunday to get a manicure/pedicure and the place was almost empty. When I arrived at the salon, I decided to get Dazzle Dry. My bad for not selecting the "add-on" when I booked the service, but the color options for Dazzle Dry aren't always great, and I didn't know I was getting it until I arrived. I paid $20 extra for Dazzle Dry on my nails (fingers and toes). The technician did not apply it properly (you are supposed to apply two coats of base coat with Dazzle Dry and she applied one). Needless to say, it chipped that same day and two days later, it is almost completely off my fingers. See photos. The owner was rude and said I need to make sure I select the "add-on" when booking online. As if painting Dazzle Dry polish takes any longer than regular. I will NEVER go here again. Buff and File in Portsmouth is about the same price (for Dazzle Dry) and it lasts two weeks and looks amazing. You get what you pay for. read more

I've visited Meraki a few times and I'm comfortable giving it 3 stars on average. There are some things I love about this place: there is almost always availability, great polish selection and range of services, online booking is a cinch and the lovely Sandy, who is my new personal hero after putting up with me and my super sensitive nails. There are a few things that I could do without: I once had to uncomfortably raise my voice because my nail technician was about to cut my nails when I'd asked her not to (language barrier), they did a completely botched job on my mother's nails (buffed the skin around her nails RAW), and with the exception of the aforementioned amazing Sandy, no one even remotely seems like they want to work there. I will start by saying that my nail technician was very competent and kind. Upon check out I was billed $35 more than expected for my service, but I said nothing, paid and tipped accordingly- assuming it due to inflation. A little while later I got a frantic call and text indicating that something was wrong with my check-out and unless I resolved it I could no longer book services. I called them back, found out that they had charged me extra for a different clients services and wanted to re-run my card for the correct amount. This was their mistake AND I was overcharged, so threatening a customer with not being able to book again makes no business sense. Ok so lets start with the fact that my appointment started 20 minutes late. I was on time! But it started that late. I was booked for a full set of acrylic with regular polish, and I sit down and he starts rushing right into putting tips on me and everything. Then AFTER asks me what shape I want. I say "coffin" and he straight up tells me no and gives me attitude. Ok, can you do them tapered? I don't want ugly bricks on my fingers thanks. He goes fine and proceeds to do them in the most uneven way possible. Then he layers acrylic on and puts the chunkiest most uneven nails on. Then paints them so on and so forth. I get out and notice that he painted them so poorly, the edges weren't done at all, as if I had gotten my nails done at a 3rd grade sleepover. So I have to buy polish and redo the polish myself, after spending $50 on this service. Ok so then after a week I go to take them off and have the most hellish experience. He used mma monomer which is incredibly difficult to remove and causes great damage to your nails. The aftermath photo is my nails after scraping acrylic off and filing for multiple hours. Just had the most frustrating experience here! Had an appointment booked several days in advance for my toddler and sister to get pedicures together for her birthday. The day prior to the appointment they left me a voicemail asking if they could switch my appointment to 10:50 instead of 11:10. They asked me to call back if that works for us. The change didn't work for us so I left it alone and when we arrived for our appointment at 11:10 we were told we missed the appointment. This is a terrible business practice and I won't be going back! It took a lot of planning to get my sister into town and my toddler and newborn out the door to make it to this appointment and they said I could come back later that day.. so not ok. Also the prices are very high.. don't mind paying if it's worth it but we won't be returning to this spa. read more

The attention to the public was very bad, especially the person who speaks Spanish very rude, they charged me 30 dollars for not attending my appointment, I called a lot to cancel and they never answered me! The woman threw the phone at me when she told him that she disagreed with that charge for a procedure that is not right for me. I visited here for the first time today. I had a pedicure and added on a 10 minute foot massage. So, the pedicure itself was fine, although there was no massage at all with the initial pedi. I thought that was weird, because the woman next to me was receiving a foot/leg massage with her regular pedi. The woman told me that she'd do my add on massage AFTER she did the polish. A little weird, but ok. After she finished all my polish she massaged each leg (calf only because my toes were wet) for 4 total minutes. I let the front desk know in my way out assuming I wouldn't be charged $10 extra (maybe $4), but no, I was charged $50 for the most mediocre pedi of my life. BEST PLACE IN TOWN! I made an appointment to come in on Sunday. Easy parking, very professional receptionist. I was checked in immediately and brought over to choose from their large selection of gel colors. The manicure was excellent and they did everything perfect. Very clean and beautiful salon.
