My first visit to the salon was during the holiday shoppig season in Newburyport. The salon was having a promotion for a wash and blow dry. Kristina Clark did my hair that night for the first time and has been doing my hair since! I have thick curly hair and Kristina really knows how to work with it so the haircuts work and hold over time. I am almost completely grey and she has done root color, highlights and lowlights that really like good and compliment the season and my skin tone. She has done two Keratin express treatments which has done wonders with my hair. She also encouraged me to grow my hair a few inches longer - something I tried to do numerous times and failed because I couldn't manage it. I love my new look and now have the ability to wear my hair up for casual weekends or styled for work. I love the flexibility. The salon is clean, very nicely decorated and comfortable. The owner and other employees are friendly and helpful to one another. It's a great place to relax while my hair color is processing. Koleen is amazing! She styled my hair for my wedding in July and she did an amazing job! I was very picking and had difficulties deciding on a style that I wanted. She was very patient and gave me plenty of options to try. I ended up having a hard time choosing which style because all of the ones she tried on me looked great. She is very skilled and definitely listened to my wants and needs and helped make my special day go smoothly. It was raining on my wedding day and was very hot and humid but my hair stayed gorgeous throughout the entire day/night, no frizziness and my curls did not fall out. My hair could not have looked more beautiful on my wedding day and I would 100% recommend her to anyone that wants to look perfect on their special day, it gives you one less thing to worry about. Also, I have been back to the salon to have her color my hair and again I do not have enough good things to say about her. I am now a repeat customer and have no plans on going anywhere else. As a hair snob, I got tired of paying $100+ on Newbury Street in Boston for a cut. I met Kristina last year and quickly learned she was a stylist at Aaqua Blue Salon and made the switch. My first appointment with Kristina was great - she gives the best scalp massages during your shampoo and knows what cut best suits your face shape. Her cuts last and are easy to style at home, unlike some salons I've been to where you can never get your hair to look the same when you leave. I now go in every six weeks or so to see Kristina for a trim and recently went a lot shorter than I usually do. I'm also hoping to try a Keratin treatment next with Kristina. So whether you live in Boston, like myself, or on the North Shore, it's worth the trip to Aaqua Blue. You'll get Newbury Street treament without breaking the bank. I have been going to Aaqua Blue Salon for a little over 6 months now. For the months before I found Aaqua Blue I had been going to different salons and I just couldn't find the right salon to make my hair look great! I have very thick hair and not many people around this area could do my hair quite like she does. When i found Aaqua Blue I found my hairdresser Kristina; who is very skilled at cuts and colors. Every time I leave the salon I always leave with a huge smile and loving my hair. She does a fantastic job! My stylist and the owner, Maria, is extremely knowledgeable in what she does. My hair is very finicky, and she just has the right touch for it. Kristina has been doing my hair for years and I followed her to Aqua Blue Salon. The Salon is upscale, clean and pleasant. Kristina is excellent with color selection and application. She listens to my "hair goals" and always works with me on finding the best look whether it be a color change or a new hair style. She knows the science of hair color & can help you w/ your color choice. My hair has never been healthier than it is now. I have been going to see the lovely ladies at Aaqua Blue for a couple of years now. Koleen is who I always see and she is fantastic! She is very talented and professional and always does such a gorgeous job on my hair. I got married a year ago and went to her for my wedding styling, which was half up half down. I spent a fabulous Wednesday morning with Maria on 9 September. I was staying on Plum Island for a month and had been away from Atlanta since the second week in August. Eek! Gray hair was taking over and I needed help. Maria came to the rescue and after about 90 minutes I found myself with a perfect stranger who had become my best friend. The salon is impeccable regarding cleanliness and it is very cozy and the decor is very tasteful. I moved to Newburyport about two years ago and began searching for a new salon in the area. After trying a few different (very pricey) salons, I began going to Aaqua blue in May and I am so happy i came across this salon. Kristina is the best stylist I have ever had and I've had alot. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new place to get my hair cut. A friend recommended this salon and since I'm used to a barber I was a little weary on going there but I m glad I did. I was helped by Koleen and she was extremely friendly and did a better job with my hair on her first time than my barber ever did after years of going to him (I used to have to fix a little piece here and there to the way I like it but Koleen got it right on the first try). The owner of this salon Maria, gives herself a bad name. Iv'e been to this salon to see stylists that I know for a fact, no longer work here. Yet when I called, the owner told me "she is not in today and doesn't know when she will be in". Then tried to set me up with another new stylist, NO THANK YOU! I get your trying to keep the money coming to your salon, but why should I trust you when I caught you in a lie? You are giving your salon a bad reputation and not fooling me. Just had my hair colored and cut by Maria. It looks fabulous! She not only really listens to what you want, but she made suggestions which I happily took, and now have a beautiful blonde color that is great with my complexion and totally awesome for the summer.
