I'll get straight to the point: every time I come here, I seem to be charged a different price for the exact same items. What's even more frustrating is that there are no prices displayed on any of the products, making it impossible for customers to know what they're being charged beforehand. I'm not an attorney, but I'm fairly certain California has consumer protection and pricing disclosure requirements intended to help customers understand what they're paying before they make a purchase. Whether those specific laws apply here or not, customers should be able to see pricing clearly and consistently. Whenever I ask staff about pricing, I'm often met with attitude or made to feel like I'm doing something wrong simply for asking a basic question. Considering that the prices seem to change every visit, I think that's a reasonable concern. And no, the prices don't seem to be getting cheaper each time--quite the opposite. The whole experience feels questionable and lacks transparency. Customers shouldn't have to guess what they're going to pay or feel uncomfortable asking about prices. A little consistency, clear pricing, and better customer service would go a long way. This is especially concerning in a military community. Many service members and their families are new to the area and may not be familiar with local businesses or what prices should reasonably be. When prices aren't clearly displayed and seem to change from visit to visit, it creates the impression that customers are expected to simply accept whatever they're charged. Whether that's the intention or not, that's how it comes across. The reality is that this affects everyone. Military families, longtime residents, and visitors all deserve the same transparency and fairness. Clear pricing protects customers and builds trust within the community. I also find myself wondering how the San Diego County Weights and Measures Division would view business practices like this, where prices are not clearly displayed and customers appear to be charged different amounts for the same items on different visits. Transparency shouldn't be optional. People can be very confident and dismissive when they're behind a counter or in their workplace. I just wonder if that same energy would be there outside of that setting. Treating customers with respect shouldn't depend on where you're standing. After coming to this store for the past couple years. I decided to bump up my 3 star rating to a 5 star rating. I mainly stop by to buy my ice cold brew and scratchers. After seeing a new guy work the night shift vs. the Cool guy WITH THE BEARD, i was used to him forgot his name though. The store has No activity No welcoming, messy plus POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The California Lottery currently has a promotion where they give away a "raffle ticket" for each Super Lotto ticket purchased. I purchased some Super Lotto tickets at this store, but the clerk KEPT THE RAFFLE TICKETS and did not give them to me. He covertly put them next to the register, out of sight from the customer side of the counter. When I pointed out the message printed on my Super Lotto tickets which stated that a raffle entry would be provided with every lotto ticket purchased, he told me that the machine did not print them, which was a total lie because I heard the lotto ticket printer cut TWO pieces of paper out of it. In addition, I had two seperate Lotto scan forms for purchasing my lotto tickets. The clerk ran only one of them through the ticket generating machine TWICE instead of running one through and then the other. When I pointed this so-called mistake to the clerk, he took one of the "duplicate" tickets back, put it on his out-of-sight stack of raffle tickets, told me that he would cancel out the duplicate, and ran my second scan form (the one he failed to run through the first time around) through the machine. Again, he covertly kept the raffle ticket that was supposed to accompany it and did absolutely nothing to cancel the "duplicate" ticket that he took, even though he was doing nothing and there were no other customers in the store at the time. I've already reported this event to the California Lottery officials and plan on reporting it to the store owner. I certainly hope that the owner and/or manager are not involved with the highly unethical behavior of their employee. read more

Overall, this store is very unclean. Unkind, and very very rude. The teenage worker there was extremely rude to my son and I when I asked if he could take my change for my food. He then mumbled under his breath a small curse word. This place was filled with dust, unmopped, and very gross. read more

For the review regarding the guy with a beard, he was stealing. The service is great, owners are nice, so unless you stopped getting discounts from the guy with the beard I don't understand why you'd give them one star. I have been going to this store for the last three years and I'll never go back again. My roommates and I frequent this store for its convenience. Tonight one of the employees tried hitting on my roommate and even after she told him she was gay and not interested he still persisted. He was asking why she was like that and wouldn't drop it. He tried to get her to come to the back saying "come with me, you'll like it". He followed her out to her car and tried to open the passenger door when she got in. This is unacceptable and creepy. Ladies please be careful and stay away if you can. read more
