This past Monday we made a local move from Nampa to Meridian and used the services of Merchants Moving & Storage (Atlas Van Lines) in Boise. We could not have been happier with the entire move from beginning to end!!! Prior to the move, Justin came out to do a walk-through and survey what we were moving, note any obstacle items that needed special attention and any specific wishes we had ...and we did have. On the day of the move, Robert called to let us know when the crew would be heading our way and the moving crew lead Josh called on his way with an ETA. The crew arrived, introduced themselves and did a walk-through with us and noted specifics Justin discussed with us. They wrapped every single piece of furniture and took great care with our belongings. At the new address, they did a walk-through to note which room was which and proceeded to unload, putting the items in the appropriate rooms. I had a special wish to put all the boxes along one wall with labels facing out, which they were happy to accommodate. On top of that, there wasn't one piece of damage to any items or either home!!! When the move was completed, Jenn took our payment over the phone and emailed us the receipt. Everyone we worked with was professional and had great attitudes. Even at the end of a long, exhausting day, we couldn't help but be in a good mood with how well we were taken care of by the Merchants team! I used Merchants Moving when I relocated with my company from Oregon back to Idaho and couldn't have been happier. My company had sent out a local mover to estimate the space needed on the truck to move us, and he grossly miscalculated what we had. When Mike from Merchant arrived and started looking at what we had, he told me he was pretty sure the guy had miscalculated but not to worry. He had to go and buy extra boxes twice and ended up having to rent the largest U-Haul truck just to get all of our stuff loaded, the van was maxed out along with his partner in the U-Haul, he never complained once, and worked late 2 nights packing up, we got to Idaho and unpacked without a single thing broken, or lost. When I retired and moved back to Oregon, my first call was to Merchants to move me, this time I was paying for it, so I checked around and they were very competitive, and I requested Mike again (6 years later), and Merchants accommodated my request, this time we had downsized, and crammed it all onto one van. Merchants was there right on time, got us packed up and loaded up on time, and delivered to our new home in Oregon, right on time. Merchants (Atlas) did a full service pack and move of my house in Colorado, provided storage services for 2 months, and delivered to my new home in Boise. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Melanie and the local Boise team did a fantastic job of setting my expectations and guiding me through the process. Daniel and his team of packers and movers expertly boxed up and wrapped all of my belongings and loaded in a single day. Super professional, respectful, and organized, I was confident everything would arrive safely on the other end, where I lucked out and had Daniel leading the delivery crew. I'm an art enthusiast, so there were at least 15 mirror boxes full of paintings. Every one in perfect condition. On both sides of the move, Daniel and Melanie checked in with me several times a day just to see how things were going and how I felt about the process. (I felt great about the process thank you, because I trusted the people taking care of me!). Solid communication throughout, great care and respect of both me and my stuff. Merchant removed as much of the stress as humanly possible from one of life's bigger stressors. Would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

We absolutely loved and appreciated the professionalism of this company, even as a couple of quirky incidents happened on our move to Oregon. First, we missed clearing out one of the belly box storage areas of the truck, resulting in garden equipment, water ski, bike stand, shelving parts and much random stuff never making it into the new home. Easily solved and items brought to us within a week when the same truck was back in the area. Nothing missing there. The crazy odd thing was missing items from our kitchen - very specific items/knives and a drawer of items near those high-end knives (they were on a magnet of a wall) all of which should have been part of a larger Kitchen pack. These items never turned up in any of the other packed boxes; we even thought "well, maybe they were packed with this ski stuff, or this bathroom stuff." Not found. We filed a claim and were extremely pleased with the professional attitude and attention to handling our loss. Items and furniture arrived pristine, missing items addressed, and the people we met were extremely pleasant. For these reasons we highly recommend this company . read more

I can't stress enough how satisfied I am with my move through Atlas. Merchants Moving in Boise were great to deal with; the communication, explanations, materials provided pre-move, the list goes on. They could not have done a better job at making me feel comfortable in the weeks leading up to my move. They answered all my questions and helped to prepare me for a cross country move, easing a lot of the stress normally encountered when moving. The driver was top notch. He was prompt, courteous, efficient, communicative and really friendly. I felt 100% comfortable that my items would arrive at my new home in perfect condition and I was right. The loading crews at both the pickup and the destination were very fast packers/unpackers and very careful with my property. These guys were top notch. Matt was the driver that came down to Denver to bring us back to Boise. He was on time and let us know everything that was going on. He hired a very efficient 4 man pack team out of Denver who boxed the entire 1800sqft house in 4 hours and packed the entire truck the next day in 3 hours. They we're all very professional and clean in their work. When they delivered, Matt was the driver again. They put everything back together and had the whole truck unloaded in 5 hours. Melanie in the office has reached out a few times over the course of the move to see how things went. When a ladder didn't make it off the truck into the garage, I called the same day and they found it in the bottom of the truck and brought it over the next morning. Very efficient group, great staff, and they do a great job selecting pack crews that pack your stuff super safe. Highly recommend these guys for your move read more

This is my second move with Merchants and I wouldn't trust anyone else. The service is exceptional and the staff, from the office to the movers, are professional, skilled and kind. The entire experience has been terrific. I received an immediate estimate, was contacted several times to check if we needed anything beforehand and checked upon all during the moving process. I visited their storage facility and it is a spotless environment. This was important to me as we are storing our possessions for two months. All in all after over two dozen moves I couldn't imagine using any other moving company. Even the folks who moved me last year called during my recent move just to check on me to make sure that it was going well. That's unheard of in today's fast paced environment. Merchants Moving & Storage handled our move and we were very impressed. They protected our carpet and door jambs before they moved a single item. They adjusted to the obstacles in our home and were able to get several large items over a chair lift and around tight corners. They drilled new holes for old bed rails and replaced old screws with wood screws. Our move was considerably more challenging than they thought it would be but they made it work in a timely and efficient manner. Boise Merchants Moving and Storage gets my completely positive recommendation. The Boise team (John and Kelli) were well informed and helpful throughout the process. We had local packing, 4 months storage, and final shipping and unpacking (via Atlas) to Florida. Information was provided throughout the process and was accurate. Extremely impressed with the care and efficiency of Merchants. First they assisted in the unloading of a Pod and were excellent in caring for our belongings and the house. Then we worked with Merchants to move the remainder of our belongings from California to Boise. Everything went so smoothly. In fact the belongings arrived in Boise two-three days early. The movers were extremely careful in how they packed, stored and unloaded our belongings.
