Another wonderful visit to the Mercury Chop House last night. Sat at the bar, for a cocktail and some side orders. Very friendly and hardworking bartender and staff. Ordered a side of filet cigars, crab cakes, broccoli, and mashed potatoes (whipped). After a very nice pour, the food arrived and everything was excellent. Filet cigars are very good and consistent, as this was about the 4th different time I have had them. Of course broccoli was steamed perfectly, NOT over cooked. Whipped potatoes again superb - you might think its hard to screw up mashed potatoes, but I have been in places that have ! The crab cakes were good, and I'll comment, that I would like to see more crab meat in there and a little less filler. Taste was great, just like a little more crab in the mix. As usual, the views, and the ambiance are superb here, and I will return again and again, every time I visit Arlington, Texas. read more

A sweet client of mine gave me an e gift certificate for Mercury Chophouse. Making a reservation was easy and I was reminded one day prior to confirm. My bf and I had a wonderful experience. Parking was easy. Valet was busy so we parked near by. We went up to the 9th floor. We were impressed by the greeting and the ambiance inside. Our waiter greeted us and explained the specials. We chose to share the crab cakes and lobster bisque. The crab cakes were very good but the lobster bisque, recommended by our waiter Drew, was absolutely amazing. Our entres came out on point and almost too pretty to eat. My bf loved the sea bass and my blackened red fish was very enjoyable. Both dishes were beautifully plated. We moved on to dessert and ordered a cream brûlée and and two cappuccino's When the Maître de John came to check on our experience he Crabwas quite nice and personable. During the meal we listened to a pianist Georgia Barge. Her soft voice and piano was so beautiful. The ambiance was absolutely perfect and the view of traffic on I 30 was so relaxing. We came in from out of town for the Cowboys game and forgot to make a reservation so we ended up sitting at the bar, turned out to be the best thing. Serapio and Brian (aka Steve) were amazing. Great food recommendations and the most amazing service. Drinks were top notch, I had the Ladies First and my husband had the house India Pale Ale. The food was amazing. Scallops were the best I have had and my husband loved the Ahi Tuna. The steaks were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The corn riotto was packed full of flavor. We went to catch a comedy show nearby and wanted to indulge in a good steak/martini combo. Checked our source of truth (Yelp..duh) & chose Mercury. The restaurant is tucked away in what looked like an office building. We were running late but the staff were extremely accommodating. They sat & fed us within 45 min. max. The restaurant had a musican doling out piano tunes for all ages, setting the ambiance. Live music with a view of downtown Arlington hits nice while watching the sunset from the large windows while sipping a glass of Sauvignon. The service here stands out more than the food. The manager came over to us, even made our drinks (he makes a killer martini) and let our server know we were pressed for time. An overpriced, underwhelming steakhouse option for Arlington. Our food was okay, the service was attentive, but I felt like the food could've been MUCH better for what we paid for. I got a pasta (lobster ravioli maybe?), which I was told was made in house (a plus if that's true), and my husband got the pork chops (his favorite go-to at any restaurant). He said he's had better. It's an okay spot for special occasions, I suppose, but we felt out of place in the 'country club' environment. I definitely see the appeal for a certain demographic within this community, but we'll skip it and head to one of the many other diverse options in the city. read more

Not really sure how I've been coming to Mercury Chophouse for at least 3 or 4 years and I've never done a review! The restaurant shares an office building with a bunch of other businesses. Which of course means that there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is on the 9th floor of the office building and very is to find. This restaurant is very likely my absolute favorite restaurant in the Arlington area. And if I'm being honest, it's not my favorite because of the food. It's truly my favorite because of the service and the ambiance! It literally is the epitome of a high end steakhouse with a "cheers" feeling to it. I love it so much that I always promise myself I'm going to go somewhere new, but end up going there almost every single time I'm in town, which is sometimes twice a month. I typically sit at the bar. And I swear that there's probably only once in 15 times that I've been there, where I walked away feeling like, the bartender had an "off" night. The drinks are always pretty good, but what's just as important to me is that the service they provide is even better. Sitting at the bar gives this really cute view of Six Flags and everything else in the area. I mean, it's a really nice view! The whole back of the restaurant is nothing but large windows! Let's also not forget the live piano singer on most nights! That just gives the place the perfect chill vibe! Don't misunderstand me, the food is pretty good too! I went Friday 12/22, with my fiancee, 2 12 ounce filets 2 appetizer samplers and Mousseline Potatoes. With Crèmebrulee. The filets were good, My Fiancée didn't finish hers, It's not as soft as LA or Vegas steakhouses,as I got medium rare, the Potatoes were excellent as the Crèmebrulee was aswell. The service was spot on as a team, other members filling up our water, bread, etc, I noticed our server for the night didn't have an eye out for us. Tonight I celebrated my 50th Birthday at the Chophouse. The waitstaff was so polite and it was great customer service. We had a party of 14 people. We started out with cheddar broccoli soup, wedge salad & crab or lobster ravioli. They were all good. The entrees consist of filet, cowboy ribeye, shrimp & grits, salmon & grits, short ribs and many others. The food was delicious!!! This place is under rated. I wIll definitely come back. This place is a hidden gem! Never would I have thought I'd be writing a five star review for a restaurant in an office building in Arlington.... Mercury Chophouse is outstanding in service and food. The interior is finished beautifully but doesn't feel stuffy at all. The atmosphere is upscale but again, not so much so that you feel uncomfortable. We had a group for a birthday and no one had a bad meal. For appetizers, we ordered the lobster/cheese ravioli and the calamari - I could have made a meal with those two but we aren't quitters so once we powered through all of that, we tackled the main courses! Two of us had the surf and turf - filet with crab cake, one had surf and turf but with a lobster tail, one had a New York strip and the other had just a filet. Sides were mousselini potatoes, asparagus, Mac and cheese and they also serve hot bread and butter. AND because it was a birthday we ordered two desserts. If you thought we were leaving without trying dessert, you thought wrong! We had the chocolate lava cake with ice cream and the chocolate roulade....did not disappoint. We had eaten at Del Frisco's in Southlake the night before and the food and service were horrible there - too long to go into it here, but I did write a review on it so hop on over there to read about that train wreck. So to have such wonderful service at Mercury House was great! Everrett was fabulous, attentive but not intrusive and had a sense of humor. The young men helping out with drinks were stealth level! I would look up and my glass was magically full again. I'm writing this at the risk of bringing this to others attention and making it more difficult for me to get reservations but it was SO good! First time here Tried the lunch seating. Friday about 12:15 still a few tables open. Folder menu has a few more items than online. I stumbled on to Mercury's via a map search of restaurants. When we got to the address and discovered they were on the 9th floor, suddenly all the comments about the views made sense. The food. Just. Wow !! I eat steak as a preferred meal twice a week. That's about 104 steak meals per year. This by far was the best steak I have had in a long long time. The service was on point. For me this means making sure your tea or other beverage is full, but not checking on you so often as to annoy you or distract from the meal. There is a perfect balance of knowing how to take care of the customer without checking on them too much or checking on them too little. This house has that down to an art. The ambience included a very upscale interior and at the time I was there, there was a grand piano being played with music so perfect that you would have sworn it was a CD and not live player, but in fact it was and the music was fantastic and played at the right level, so it's not to be overwhelming to those having conversation, but just an exceptionally pleasing background. The price I Paid for the steak was maybe 15% more than a chain steakhouse that you could see across the street. But the experience was 100% better and so was the food. I will always choose quality over quantity and this place is a great example of the reason to do that. read more

I honestly thought the cigars were some sort of fusion egg roll at first, but essentially, these are just ground beef fried in egg roll wrappers. On our last night in Texas, we decided to treat ourselves to a lovely steak dinner! Mercury Chophouse didn't disappoint. My filet was cooked exactly how I ordered it. The steaks do not come with sides so expect to order off their shareable sides menu, we got the baked three cheese potatoes. The cocktails are excellent, I had the Applejack and the Dark & Stormy. We ended the meal with the chocolate torte, it's not on the menu but was a special the night we went. The live music was the cherry on top, what's more relaxing than live piano music looking out over Arlington lit up at night! The view was incredible. This is really a 3.5 stars. It's close to a 4 but not quite there for what they are shooting for... I wanted it to be there. We live in the area and have wanted to go here for awhile. Glad we went. Good not great. I think our waiter was nervous. And, although he was super friendly and tried hard, you may want to have servers go through an orientation with you of upscale service, e.g., remember all the specials as our server at the table next to us had a different line up; make recommendations; suggest a signature drink and your favorite dessert when the time comes; don't stack dishes, be confident, etc. Think confidence is key. Food. Food was pretty good. The appetizer sampler included a steakhouse bruschetta (really good except for the fatty part on the steak), tempura shrimp (what you expect), ahi tuna (that was good with the wasabi ? sauce and mini pepper, and the eggroll which was stuffed with minced ground beef (has potential but needs more spices. This could be better and then be your thing). We also tried the escargot, Zack salad which felt more like a big lunch salad, small wedge (liked this as they did it right, not overly dressed and the right amount of toppings), the filet (well cooked and seasoned, think a good filet but it's not like a wet or dry aged filet), steamed spinach (okay), mushrooms (good) and of course the mac-n-cheese (pretty good here; definitely buttery goodness), and the peach cobbler (average and a little runny). It was good food. Better than good actually. Overall, it is so close to a four star because it was good. Just needed a few tweaks to get there for the price. Had dinner on Wednesday, Jun 5th. There were 8 of us. We were celebrating a bday. 6 out of our 8 entrees were cold. The other two were luke warm. The drinks and desserts were good. We did keep having to ask for our water to be refilled. Our waiter was super nice, I think he may have been the only waiter that night. We paid over $1100 for dinner, drinks, and dessert. We chose this place because of the rave reviews. Maybe it was an off night. We will not be back. Oh, and it automatically charged us 20% gratuity ($186+), which we knew because we had a large party. I came here for a rare date night (parents of a toddler) and wow. I couldn't believe that I never heard of this place before! The ambience is very mellow. Casual, but upscale. The sides are supposed to be shareable, but the serving sizes were a bit smaller than expected. For about $10/side, I expect to get a little more than a scoop and half of mashed potatoes. We also ordered asparagus and was provided 6 (so 3 each?) definitely would have been able to eat the sides by myself, but I had stuffed myself with their bread and butter. Their bread? Fantastic. I absolutely loved it. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside & the butter had just enough salt to help enhance the taste and not overwhelm it. We both got steaks, I got the New York Strip and he got the ribeye. Do yourself a favor and get the ribeye! While my strip was fine, his ribeye was great! It was seasoned perfectly, soft (you won't hurt your jaw trying to chew on this one) and overall, a great steak. They do dry age their steaks, and you can taste the difference! The manager came and checked in on us, introduced himself, and the staff was attentive for the most part.
