First off, The Finch was offering brunch for Mother's Day and you did get a complimentary mimosa. I'll also note that I visited for Easter brunch previously, and the food was amazing, the staff was amazing, and my waitress Alicia made the experience great. At that time, brunch was around $40-$45 and I truly enjoyed myself. This time for Mother's Day, it was the exact same food, but the price jumped to about $55 per person. Everything was going well until my daughter asked for a to-go container for a slice of pie. After that, the manager, Joe, walked up to our table of eight adults and two children and literally rolled his eyes and stared us down for what felt like 10-15 minutes. I would normally give courtesy to our waiter, but instead of helping, he sat there with the manager talking negatively while we were still dining. I can't even remember his name, but he appeared very unkempt. Meanwhile, the table next to us had two girls dining, and he continuously checked on them asking if they were ready to go or needed anything else before leaving. We arrived around 1 PM and by 2 PM we were already getting death stares from management, as if we had overstayed our welcome. We were not even there for two full hours, yet the entire experience felt rushed and uncomfortable. On top of a $513 bill, we still left an $80 tip, only to feel stared down over asking for one small to-go box for pie. Also worth mentioning: there are only TWO bathroom stalls while they are serving what looked like well over 150 people during brunch service, so the wait for the restroom alone was ridiculous. The food was still good, but the hospitality completely changed my opinion of this place. Prices went up, service went down, and the atmosphere felt very unwelcoming compared to Easter brunch. I stayed at Epic Central and knew how popular it was. So glad I decided to make a reservation in advance. I got my wish and was seated outside right in front of the light show. The restaurant was not crowded but it was such a nice night weather wise. Stephanie was my waitress and she did a good job. Recommended several entrees and apps. I decided to try potstickers and fish and grits. Omg so good. The potstickers were very good with the super spicy wasabi sauce, it was so zesty it takes your breath away but totally made the dish. The catfish and grits were very tasty too. Good portion size, I couldn't finish. The grits were pimento cheese grits which gave it a great flavor. For a Thanksgiving gathering we opted to skip all the cooking and clean up and we decided to try the Finch and their Thanksgiving menu This is a trendy establishment. The decor, fixtures, location, etc are all appealing and somewhat swanky. There are delicious looking entrees and drinks to choose from, but again we came for the Thanksgiving meal which was hearty and delicious. We each received a large plate with most of the typical Thanksgiving staples (or at least a twist on those classics). We also got a choice of salad or French onion soup as a starter and cheesecake or bread pudding for dessert I would say the menu and the restaurant itself are slightly upscale, but I don't feel like the staff were overly upscale. I feel like many of the patrons were far dressier than the servers. The servers and management didn't seem overly refined. We had a reservation and we ended up waiting 10-15 minute for a table. There were plenty of tables available, and someone in our party used a cane, but they would only seat us at a high top that wasn't ideal. Also, at different times we could overhear the conversations of staff, and they were often complaints or things they probably didn't want us to hear I would try this restaurants regular menu again, and maybe the service issues were one-offs... that and it was the holidays, and I feel for staff who have to work during the holidays Some tips: There is a neat water fountain feature outside the restaurant in a common/park area that has dancing streams and is a great place to stroll or take a break and enjoy nice weather There is also plenty of parking out front Cheers!! read more

Special shout out to Vinceeeee! He's a manager I met. He went out of his way to make sure to introduce himself. He collaborated with the team he spoke to several customers. He was extremely engaging and I'm not sure how long he's been here, but when I tell you, I remembered his name and he approached me a second time because of the impact I could see that he was making on the environment that made my visit all the well worth it. The food is great. I'll show pictures of that. I ordered the steak and eggs. I had two flights of the martini options which I also loved if I were to suggest a martini here I would say first would be the lemon drop and then a dirty martini. The view here is spectacular. You've got a water show that's going on intermittently while you dine at night. I hear it's even more gorgeous because they have lights going. I'm here during the daytime so you can't see that reflecting, but just the background activity of it creates a really nice ambience. I chose bar seating, but the entire establishment seems really clean. I would sit anywhere here especially the patio area if you're interested in seeing the water show. I'm so glad I stopped in. It took me a while to get here because it's been on my to-do list but if it's on yours, please put it to the top so that you can visit. Extremely happy with everything I chose. The server was definitely entertaining lol. We visited this location on the night where there wasn't an event outside with a DJ. Maybe it was a night market. The bar tender made our second drinks incorrect stating that a different person made the first one but that was all sorted out . What a pleasant discovery, though the parking is a bit confusing. You're basically parking in the lot for the hotel, which looks like you need to pay for it, but the restaurant assured us we didn't and we weren't towed away, so hey I guess they were right. This is one of those meals where we just ordered a bunch of stuff and did it family style, and I'm not kidding: every single thing we ordered was fantastic. It was our 35th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something different. We decided we'd head out to "The Epic" in Grand Prairie to have dinner and then watch the fountain show in the Lagoon. After learning how popular the restaurants are at "The Epic" I did make reservations beforehand. I am glad I did. When we arrived, the restaurant was hopping and packed, even on a Monday evening. Right off the bat I noticed "The Finch" is not a romantic type of restaurant. We soon learned it's VERY noisy and hard to carry on a conversation even across the table. The restaurant's decor is very stunning and was well thought out in the design. I just wished they'd thought about the sound factor. As I mentioned I had made reservations. We didn't have to wait in the queue that had formed. Again, I was amazed the restaurant was SO busy on a Monday evening. After being seated by a very elegant hostess we met Alissa, our server for the evening. She asked if this was the first time we'd dined with them and if we'd like any recommendations. My wife decided all she wanted was a Coors Light. I'm an "Old Fashion" lover and ordered their "Brown Sugar Old Fashion" comprised of Bullet Bourbon, brown sugar reduction, aromatic bitters, pretty standard for an Old Fashion. Our table had a beautiful view of the lagoon and the dancing fountain. We chatted a bit while we took a look at the menu. My wife decided on the Buffalo Fried Chicken Cobb Salad. It was made up of buttermilk fried chicken, chopped romaine, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, sliced egg, smoked cheddar, red onion, applewood bacon, avocado, with jalapeño ranch dressing. Looking at the description, she was already smiling! I decided on the New York Strip Steak Frites, rare. It sounded SO good. The platted comprised of Allen Brothers' Certified Black Angus, famous Entrecôte sauce and battered fries. I had to lookup what Entrecôte sauce is. It is a rich and creamy steak sauce, traditionally served with entrecôte (or rib eye) steak, often in French bistros. It's known for its distinctive green color and flavors, featuring a blend of herbs, anchovies, mustard, and lemon juice. The sauce is a classic pairing for steak frites, a popular French dish. It sounded GREAT! I also ordered a side salad with their Buttermilk Bleu Cheese Dressing. One of the kitchen food expeditors showed up with my side salad. It was massive and piled high in the bowl. Awesome dressing and a great salad, albeit a bit messy to eat. Everything kept falling out of the bowl. After a short period, Alissa, our server stopped by to give us an update that our entrees were almost ready. One of the managers also stopped by our table for a visit and welcome us to "The Finch." He asked how everything was and if our server was taking care of us. We said all is well. One thing that stood out was the professionalism of the staff and management. Shortly, Alissa delivered our entrees to our table. What a beautiful presentation! My wife loved her salad. The Buffalo Chicken was hot and spicy just like she liked it. My New York Strip Steak was cooked to a perfect rare. The Entrecôte sauce was a perfect pairing to the steak and fries. Both of our entrees were SO delicious. We weren't planning on dessert, but Alissa came by with the menu letting us know that we get a complimentary piece of New York Style Cheesecake topped with strawberries since it was our anniversary. But when we looked at the menu and saw the Madagascar Vanilla Crème Brûlée, we couldn't turn it down as well. My wife ordered an Irish Coffee, and I ordered an Expresso Martini to enjoy with our desserts. Both of our dessert cocktails were very delicious and beautiful to behold. The cheesecake was smooth and silky, but the star was the Madagascar Vanilla Crème Brûlée. It was one of the best Brûlées we've ever tasted. A long awaited visit to the Finch. It was a decent experience as a first timer. The server Brian was attentive, easy to communicate with and he understood my "jokes". I ordered a half rack of ribs. For a Monday night, the Finch was packed. Our server Ravae,was amazing. She informed us of all of the specials and that the menu would be changing to new items on December 1st. She gave great recommendations and she was able to change noodles for my guest on the Cajun pasta. I ordered the Arctic char via her suggestion and it was delicious! The shrimp scampi pasta is a nice portion but it could have a few more noodles and garlic with a little less lemon. The mac and cheese was bland, nothing really memorable with that. The Brussel spouts were a hit. Crispy and very flavorful. The bread was just ok. If it had been warmer with some butter, that would have been yummy. The Buffalo Chicken salad had nice portions of chicken and it was very flavorful. The red onions were small chopped pieces and I wished they had been rings instead. The French Onion soup had the right amount of cheese, onions and croutons but was sorely lacking in depth of flavor. For the price, it wasn't worth it. It tasted watery and like Lipton Onion soup mix. It was one of the reasons I wanted to go there. It's challenging to find a good French Onion soup outside of Dallas. The drinks were just decent. Get here quick and ask for Jonah as your server! He was a delight. He knows the menu, makes recommendations and we had a few laughs with him. I came with a couple of friends to celebrate one of them getting a new job. Food was great and the volcano sauce is to die for! We had the volcano shrimp as an appetizer and it's a good size to share with a group. I had the honey sriracha salmon and it was wonderful. My friends got the chicken fried chicken (gravy on the side and a side of the volcano sauce) and the braised short rib, which was Jonah's suggestion. She said the meat was so tender and delicious. Honestly, this was a HUGE disappointment. We started with a really good French onion soup, so I had high hopes, but everything after that went downhill. Our server basically disappeared for over 40 minutes. No refills, no check-ins, nothing. The food was already taking forever, and we didn't get it until I went and asked for a manager. When it finally came out, the pasta was barely warm and the burger and fries were cold and soggy. What really got me was that no one said anything. No apology, no explanation. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us (same section) were already almost done eating while we were still waiting. And the place wasn't even busy. Just really frustrating overall. I have given it a few chances but lately I have always left disappointed. The food is just ok. I used to leave wowed by the food but now I just feel like it is mediocre. I am not sure what has changed but something has. The service is also lacking. The server may come by once or twice but I generally have to flag them down to get another drink or a refill on my water. Additionally, in the last meal we had, we were brought food that required a spoon, soup and creme brulee, neither time did the server provide us with a spoon without us asking. I just can't recommend the Finch any longer. I wish the food and service went back to the way it was when it opened. read more

We took our puppy here and sat in the patio and the staff was very welcoming of the pup. They made sure he had a water bowl and filled it accordingly. The patio gave us a front seat row to the light show that plays every 30min. But go when the sun is down, it's especially inviting (wink). The food was pretty delicious. The Finch in Grand Prairie is a visual gem! Nestled in the Epic Center right in front of the waterfall, the ambiance is as stunning as the decor, elegant, classic, and perfect for a relaxing meal or date night. Service was absolutely impeccable. My waitress was attentive, kind, and made me feel welcomed from start to finish. She even went the extra mile to help me choose a refreshing mocktail, the cucumber lime spritzer,which turned out to be just right for a hot summer day. As for the food, while beautifully presented, it didn't quite meet my expectations. The oysters were fresh, though not to my personal taste. The honey stung chicken and waffle dish definitely looked like a winner, but unfortunately lacked flavor. I found myself adding plenty of syrup and butter to the waffle, and buffalo sauce to the chicken just to bring it to life, something I rarely do. Overall, The Finch is worth visiting for the atmosphere, views, and outstanding service. I'd come back for drinks and to give the menu another shot, but next time I'll explore other entrée options. We made a reservation for brunch and were seated immediately, which was great. Despite the open seating and many tables, the noise level was moderate and comfortable. Unfortunately, the service declined after our initial interaction. Our server was friendly at first, but she returned with one of our orders incorrect. We pointed this out right away, yet she left the dish on the table and didn't offer to correct it--only asked if we wanted to order something else. We did, and the steak and fries were very good. The rest of our meals were also enjoyable. Service issues continued throughout the meal. We had to flag her down for drink orders and refills, and when the bill was brought, it took over 20 minutes for her to return to collect our card. To make matters worse, she asked if the incorrect meal should be removed from the bill--even though we had already explained that our niece is allergic to the dish that was brought out. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake; she simply returned with the receipt. The bar tenders were working hard, but they could have used more help. This continued to our server at dinner, who was often hard to find, not being greeted for a while after we were seated and when it came time to order wine with our steak and refills on water never came. We actually looked up the menu online so we could order, because we were never given menus. We wanted dessert, but since we were trying to make a showtime we decided against it, in case it too came out slowly. Waiter was super friendly and our entree came out in good time, but we felt a little abandoned after our order was taken. One more thing. This sounds petty, but it's actually a pretty significant issue with a steak. Get sharper knives. Both my wife and I had a hard time cutting our steak. We got to sit where we could watch the fountains. Our server also had another server in training, both were knowledgeable and attentive. Service was very slow on sunday morning. Nice servers but they took a while to take our order after we asked for time. The meat in the french dip was a bit fatty but had a good taste, the short rib hash was slightly dry but the horseradish dip helps alot. Enjoyable dining experience. Promptly seated for a 6 pm reservation. Wasn't very busy then, but was hopping when we left around 7:45 pm. The brown sugar old fashioned cocktail was excellent. Enjoyed the brussel sprouts and candy creamed corn for appetizers. We had the short rib and filet entrees--both were excellent. They provided a complimentary piece of cheesecake with a sparkler as we were celebrating a birthday. Nice touch. Service was attentive and friendly. Gabrielle our hostess was attentive, and friendly. Came for brunch yesterday for the first time. Ordered a volcano shrimp and meatballs to start. The shrimp was so good! My friend had Steak/Eggs which looked amazing. She said it was good! I ordered the short rib hash. I definitely thought it could have been better. Not my favorite.
