    The cannoli truck

These guys do a very good cannoli. They are not the best out there, they definitely make their cannolis appeal to the fair crowds. But they are tasty and the shells are fresh. With as many sweet treats that fairs attract, this would be the truck I would make a stop to if I had nothing new to try. They are very good for that one last treat to take home. Give them a try!

The variety of cannolis is impressive. The Oreo cannoli was a crowd pleaser as well as the chocolate dip shelled cannoli. I love the pink pastry boxes, I will be visiting again in the near future!

For $3.50 at the Coventry Farmer's Market, I had the best cannoli I've ever had in my life. The Mounds cannoli is a generous size with coconut and chocolate-y goodness. I've also had the Heath and Peanut Butter-Chocolate, which were somewhat similar to each other but also rich and delicious. The cannolis are a great treat and easily shared.

I've had Meriano's cannoli's in the past. The ones sold from their truck are no different than the ones sold from their Guilford shop. Their selection of different types of cannoli's is just right....not too many and not too few. They offer eight flavors. Their cannoli's have a thicker shell and a slightly sweeter filling than ordinary cannoli's. They're not bad. The chocolate dipped ones are double dipped both on the inside and outside with lots of chocolate. Yum. $3 bucks each. What a great concept. Selling cannoli's from a truck! Now if someone can figure out how to sell cupcakes from a truck. .... Oh. Wait.

Really great cannoli and unique flavors I've never seen offered before. I've been lucky enough to come across The Cannoli truck at two CT fares. At first I tried the original which was freshly piped which kept the integrity of the crispy shell and the filling was just right- not too sweet but creamy and velvety. Yesterday I tried the chocolate strawberry after someone passed by with it and it looked divine. I normally don't go for the chocolate covered shell but this one was excellent. The filling tasted like a fresh strawberry sauce was mixed in with chocolate chips included as well. Delicious! I will be buying a cannoli every time I see this truck. They also had additional options like Oreo to name one I can remember. Oh how I can't wait to see you again!

The best cannoli I've found in southeast CT. Not soggy or overly dry/crunchy, sweet but not overly so. Just great!

Kronfeld is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business. Some of the restaurants he worked at over the years include Bobby's Burger Palace at Mohegan Sun Casino and the kitchen at the Omni Hotel in New Haven. Miller dabbles as an amateur cook while working from home as a campus recruiting consultant. The couple's mission is to give customers a gourmet restaurant experience right on the street or from the comfort of their own homes. This past weekend was the wedding of my brother and sister-in-law at Stewards of the Land Brewery in Northford. It just so happens that they booked the Chef Truck to provide the food for the reception. I had previously sampled some of Chef John's delicious food when I attended an exclusive 'Foodie Influencer' event a few months back at the same brewery. I was not disappointed then and I certainly wasn't this time. The first course featured an Autumn Salad (salad greens, sliced apples, gorgonzola, pancetta) and bowls of Pumpkin Bisque. Both dishes really hit the spot. The next course featured Chicken n' Waffles, Mac n' Cheese Fritters, and Cheese-stuffed Squash Blossoms. Everything was perfect! The final course was served buffet style and included the "Mississippi Mac Attack" (slow-cooked pulled pork over Mac n' Cheese with Scallions) and "General Tso's Chickpeas" (crispy chickpeas, tofu & broccoli tossed in sweet & spicy sauce over jasmine rice). Everything was so flavorful. I think that the second course may have been my favorite. Another great culinary experience from Chef John! If you happen to see the Chef Truck parked at your favorite brewery or winery in New Haven County then you won't be disappointed!

Secondly, over $10 for a LEMONADE. It costs like 20¢ to make a lemonade, and that's being generous. I understand service charges and festival costs.. but come on. Not to mention, it was was full of sugar lumps that wouldn't even dissolve in the "fresh squeezed lemon" which was just an extract they bought and put in pouring containers. Don't waste your money, just get a Minute Maid at a gas station (cheaper and probably healthier too).
