The Meriden Mall is a solid mall. It's not the biggest or fanciest mall, but it's nice. A number of retailers here have closed such as the Best Buy, Sears and Macy's. However, they still have a couple of anchors left including Dick's Sporting Goods and Boscov's. Other large locations include the TJ Maxx and the Middlesex County Library. They're opening a Yale Health Clinic here soon, too. Other smaller stores of interest to me were Champ's Sports, FootLocker and Ramani's Clothier. There are some options in the food court, but not a ton. Only two places, Charley's Steaks and Tokyo Express were open when I visited. There's a Ruby Tuesday's and Cajun Restaurant near here, too. The mall is clean, which is nice. Easy to navigate, too. Altogether, Meriden Mall isn't the best mall, but it's nice and has some good stores. read more

Well, first of all as I've mentioned before on a website a few years ago that I use to remember the name of it being Westfield Mall then it swapped over to Meriden Mall. It hasn't been the same from the really early 2000s when it had over 100 plus stores and now it has really less like anywhere from 20 or 15 stores, I understand that some role play was to do with cost of rent, COVID has along with a new company that took over and it has changed things for the worst. Also Amazon well that's still the thing but sadly the world can't take that away from people because they would rather have the stress & hassle free. read more

Really nothing there to go to, other than Boscov's which is great but in the center there is really nothing, it's more like a ghost town.

Very recently ,so it looks, the mall has been cleaned. It had been deteriorating quite a lot, and management seemed to not care about anything but driving out business so I have a renewed faith that it might be trying to salvage itself. I want this mall to succeed, but when you have been deterring businesses for years on end I would find it hard to have faith that they will succeed in attracting customers for any new businesses - or ones that had been established previously. Besides Boscov's and TJ MAXX, which each have outside entrances, nothing inside seems to have a chance of surviving because it has nothing to pull customers in that far. I truly hope that someone can pull this mall out of its long depression, because this area need a mall to give small businesses a place to thrive. Connecticut's anti-small business legislation I'm sure can't be helping anything but there are other malls in CT that are surviving, and thriving. The new deep scrubdown has given me a renewed faith, so we will see what happens. I try to frequently pop in to see what's transpiring, so I'm going to give updates frequently. Please incentivize companies to open at your mall, the people in this area will shop here if they are welcomed. read more

Since my last comment this mall has deteriorated even more. I've only come to shop at Boscovs, or return stuff that my daughter purchased on-line. You took away people's ability to have a nice place to get excesize in the morning and is one of the reasons I don't bother with you anymore; not to mention, the store choices are pitiful, and less stores than last year. Again, are you trying to shut down this mall? Or, are you inept at running a business? Or, just don't give a crap about those that shop your mall? I think a much of the 3. Sad, sad, sad! This mall used to be a fun place to shop, now this place has been drained of all its life. Most of the anchor stores have uprooted and left. The few stores that are left are hanging on for dear life in my opinion. Very sad. read more

This mall really sucks. After visiting Milford as well, I have come to the conclusion that Westfield has really crappy malls. Poor selection of stores, poor food court - everything is boring and crappy. I hate this place more than Waterbury and that place sucks the big one. The only thing I like here is Best Buy since Borders went out of business. Go to Westfarms or Danbury, they are so much better. read more

So I've noticed Elutharius' reviews, and I must say..he is quite the icy-type of person. Let's just say this mall is still a place I go to when I'm around the area, given the large space, "variety" of shops you don't find in the city and the atmosphere. it's neat. But I'm guessing Elutharius finds it filthy because he probably grew up with a momma who was constantly cleaning and cooking, so being in a place with thousands of people walking in and out is probably way too obscene. That probably explains the one-star reviews..his momma did get robbed as well. *shrugs* read more

This place has come a long way over the years. I remember going here as a child to see Santa. They still get a unique mix of stores. From best buy/Dicks/TJMaxx(old borders) to WoW family arcade and even a CVS at one point. My last visit was a bit of downer seeing JC Penny's and Borders now gone after CVS and WoW closed up. It has also been years since Brookstone was in there. I feel like the "culture" of the mall is no longer present and that most stores are the common ones you will see in any mall. Also, the food court took a bit of a few changes. I used to be a huge fan of the old cajun place, but now that they have a Frankies and a Tutu fruiti, I feel like it is gaining back its originality. If you are not a fan, there is always Harry's which has amazing breakfast foods. All in all, it still has its gems and it is nice to go back every now and then for the nostalgia. read more

Usually I love the Meriden Mall, but today I left very upset. Gentle Jungle Pet Store has dozens of innocent pets from rabbits, puppies and kittens. Haven't we learned time and time again that "stores" like this have no regard for the well-being of animals instead making money off them? I walked past twice and saw people knocking on the glass to get the scared kittens attention and dozens of cages in back with puppies. This is an outdated practice to of making money. While I understand malls are struggling to stay afloat, I truly am disappointed the Meriden Mall would allow such a store in their mall. read more

This is one of the worst malls in Connecticut. It's on par with the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford. There's a particular clientele this mall caters to and since I'm not part of that demographic, very few stores are appealing to me. The Macy's is ok but their perfume and make up counters are smaller than usual. The Dick's at the end of the mall is great and I can stop in there without actually having to walk through most of the mall. Same with Sear's although their Land's End collection is lacking and the help is poor. The rest of the stores are low budget that cater mainly to a targeted demographic. I have no interest in stopping in any of them. The one store that I do have to brave the crowds for is Ann Taylor however it comes down to basic economics for me. How willing am I to sacrifice my sanity when I'm attempting to dodge groups of 20 year old moms with 3-4 kids, at least one in a stroller apiece, the bands of surly teenagers and odd soccer mom with preteen for a 30 minute browsing session? It's just not worth it to me. Drive to West Farms and thank us all later. read more

Oh dear....sadly this a mall where consumers go when they can't drive somewhere better. Let me start off that yesterday, when I was driving towards the mall, my spirits were high when I saw the Westfield sign and realized the Macy's I was going to was in a Westfield mall. Sadly those happy feelings quickly left when I drove up to an entrance with a gaping vacant anchor - the old JC Penney. Back in California I equated Westfield to amazing retail! I was used trophy malls like Westfield San Francisco Centre and Westfield Valley Fair and even now on the east coast Westfield Garden State Plaza...all stellar examples of great retail. Westfield Meriden is not even close to being on par with other Westfields and I felt depressed after driving around the empty parking lot and vacant buildings. I'm uncertain if it is due to poor property management, lack of quality tenants or bad management by Westfield. Whatever it is, I think not. read more

I'm a hardcore shopper, and this mall works for me! They have a bunch stores I like... TJ Maxx, Francesca's, Ulta, Macy's, Windsor..., some cool little shops I've never heard of, an okay food court, and parking is easy. Couldn't ask for anything more. read more

Okay this mall used to be fantastic! It was booming with great stores and food. But now it's a reck. First off I checked online to make sure the stores that I planned on going to were at this mall. The website said they were, once I got here it turns out that more than half the stores I planned on shopping at were no longer there. (Same goes with some of the restaurants) very disappointed. This is a Westfield property??? Are you serious??? Go to a Westfield in California and see what a real mall looks like! Horrible stores, low end merchandise, and overall depressing. The city of Meriden should shut this place down, it's an embarrassment to the state of Connecticut and a poor reflection on the local community. If anyone on the City Council in Meriden is reading this, you really need to take some action. Demolish it and create a park for everyone to enjoy. That would be better! I went here this past weekend to go to Dick's Sporting Goods. This mall has gone thru many changes and it seems as if it's on an upswing. They have a TJ Maxx and a few of the stores have been remodeled. It is a plus sized destination mall as it has a Lane Bryant, Torrid and a Fashion to Figure. They lost JC Penny but that was replaced with a new department store. The parking can be weird at times and it feels like the garage area is unguarded as I don't see and security camera and don't often see a security guard in the parking lots. I try to stay away from this place on the weekend to avoid to crowds of teenagers that just hangout there and cause trouble. I do prefer the Post Mall better but I do see where they have made improvements. read more

An average-to-low-end mall that seems to be sinking fast. On the one hand, it's clean (even the bathrooms), convenient to I-691, and has plenty of parking. A cute little train takes kids on a ride around the mall, and there's a dedicated playground at one end. On the other hand the selection of stores isn't great. Even on the weekend, it feels deserted. There are almost no maps to orient yourself, so you wind up wandering around needlessly. Might be ok if you have a specific errand; otherwise, you can do better, either in Waterbury or Westfarms. read more

This mall is "alright". It's not the best mall but it gets the "basic" job done. Getting an emergency shirt, pants, jacket, and so on. The staff cleaning the place is friendly. A lot of the employees look angry and pissed off. A lot of "thuggish" groups of Meriden kids/teens are there. There's small food court, gamestop, best buy, MAcyS, it'll get the basic things you need done. read more

Like everyone else, when I was a teenager, this was the place to be. Since then, they have eliminated all of the fun stuff and now this mall is just full of teeny boppers and rude customer service in most of the stores. The only reason I ever go to this mall is to visit 3 stores and my husband and son love the ranch bacon fries in the food court. That's about as far as it goes. read more

This mall used to be good 10 years ago.. I used to come here when I was small but when I grew up I stopped coming here because most of the stores are cheap and not that great. The mall is mostly a hangout for teenagers their basically everywhere. I go to west farms mall now and it's so much better. read more

Sweet place, just in a dirty city/town. Parking is normal for a mall and store in it is good. Lots of stores inside, along with places to sit and snack on a meal and relax after all the walking. Ok sooooo the 'Square', as I called it growing up, really is an OK mall on everyday of the week other than Fri. and Sat. That's when it seems to be flooded with 'teenie boppers'. They have a decent variety of stores, but seem to lean towards the ghetto end of the spectrum. For a local mall it isn't too bad. Recently they have added a train ride that carried kids all over the mall and has proven to been quite entertaining for any niece/nephews/grandchildren ect for about $3 per ride. I love this mall.. It's not as huge as other malls, but has a lot of stores, and is plenty big. It has all good stores, it's set up nicely, great for walking, and I don't get lost when trying to find my way from one store to another. The food court is excellent, we can sit and chat and they have a great selection of foods. It's got plenty of parking, and is the best mall around! read more

As i just mentioned in another post.. HARDLY a shell of its former self! I cant believe how many stores have left. The clothing options even the Macys seem like they got all the nasty hand-me downs that didnt sell in other locations. The racks are half bare and empty and hardly anyone is ever here anymore. All the reasons to even go here are leaving or already gone.. The only good thing about it is the Dicks Sporting Goods. That and the best buy that is rumored to be going out of business soon are the ONLY reasons i shop here. read more

Westfield Meriden Mall has had many up and downs. JC Penny closed awhile back and the future looked uncertain for a while, but Boscov's a great, fun Department Store from Pennsylvania opened and now the Mall looks like it's on the upswing. Also a Macy's Backstage, a H&M and a F21 Red recently opened. Also Frankie's (of Waterbury) opened up in the food court although I still enjoy eating at the Cajun Cafe. I would say with the addition of the Boscov's, this could make the Meriden Mall a destination mall because Boscov's is such a fun Department Store and the only Boscov's store in Connecticut at this time. this mall is great if you love to be surrounded by mallrat kids. out is great for people watching if you like to do that. they do have some decent stores and is right near target and savers. food court has an ok selection of food. i myself love mrs fields cookies and they have a cookie stand (not in the food court) it's autonomous unit for mid-mall snacking (see what i did there?) it's a average mall nothing really special read more
