I recently visited this Boscov's store and I found it very well stocked and very well laid out. They have a large men's department as well as women's and children's. Their home goods section always has something fun for yourself or to get as a gift, More than other stores like Macy's, they have gadget and home accessories that are kind of fun to get. Boscovs is my favorite department store to shop for kids clothes, home decor, and fashion accessories to add flare and style to any basic outfit. Unfortunately, our last visit with my 17yr old daughter and I was a little creepy. We visited the milford ct store to shop for clothes to attend my daughters upcoming senior picnic and graduation. We found great deals and a wide selection of coordinating and mix and match tops, bottoms, dresses, and light weight shirt jackets. My daughter found a few dresses that met the dress attire for each event. She proceeded to the dressing room as most young girls do to try-on each selection. I was searching through the clothing racks in close proximity of the juniors girls dressing room when I noticed that a couple (male and female) were in the fitting area. The female was in her fitting room beside my daughters fitting room and her male companion was sitting in the chair inside the junior girls fitting area. I quickly gesture to the sales associate regarding the males presence inside junior girls fitting room. She quickly informed me that he has every right to be there. I must have missed that memo. I purchased a Serta Mattress and a few other items from Boscov's in Meriden. When making the purchase the salesman wanted me to buy a Mattress cover pad. When I declined he said that if i bought the mattress cover, he would "throw in a free pillow". We got a total of two pillows, but only had to pay for one of them. fine. A month later I went to Exchange the mattress because i thought it was too hard for my back (not the sales person's fault), and not the point of this discussion. I picked out a Sealy mattress. He went and filled out the paperwork for my exchange. Then he tells me that I now have to pay for the other pillow that he gave me for free because I'm buying a Sealy mattress, and the reason I got a free pillow before was because it was a Buy-one Get-one free promotion from Serta. I was very annoyed about this, so he agreed to give me the pillow at half price ($49.99) So apparently he was LYING TO MY FACE when he said he was "throwing in a free pillow". He wasn't "throwing in" anything. He was using the manufacturer's buy-on get-one promotion as a means to trick me into buying a mattress cover that I DID NOT WANT ($89.99). So now I paid $90 for a matteress pad that i didn;t want, and $50 for a pillow that i really didn't need. I spent over $2,000 total and feel ripped-off. Also...their Monthly Billing is absolutely ridiculous. read more

A cross between a TJ Maxx and JCPenney this store has the goods. It's very spread out where your not trying to fit down isles with a cart. They have clothes and merchandise and even a bargain area all in it's own separate area like a mini store . As seen on TV items and furniture. Anything you would need except groceries can be found here ,lol. It is very clean and the customer service is great . Always someone walking around to assist you. read more

I visited Boscov's during its grand opening weekend. This was the first time I had ever been to a Boscov's store and I was impressed with the selection of items and the cheap prices! This store is a much needed boost to the Meriden Square Mall which I hadn't been to in ages because so many stores had left the mall. Boscov's is a brightly lit store and well-laid out store, which is much nicer than the JCPenney that previously occupied the space. One of my favorite things is that they made homemade fudge in the store. As you get closer to the fudge counter, you can smell the fresh fudge being made wafting in the store. We got the red velvet, cookies and cream and maple fudge. The fudge was delicious! We also had a chance to meet Mr. Boscov during the opening weekend and chat with him for a bit and he was very friendly. One downside is the cash registers they currently have in the store. You can't see the prices as the items are being rung up because there is no screen facing the customers. We had bought so many items and couldn't see the prices as they were being rung up for each item that we didn't realize until we got back home that one of the items had rung up at the wrong price. We called the store, but they said they couldn't do anything over the phone and we had to come back to the store to resolve it, which was a bit of an inconvenience considering it was their error that the item rung up at the wrong price. Also, while they have carts to use while shopping in the store, you have to take the elevator to switch floors with your cart. This resulted in a long line for the elevator. I hope in the future that they would install an escalator for the carts that some stores have so you can quickly change floors in the store without having to wait in the elevator line. However, despite these minor issues, overall the store associates were very friendly and the store had a good selection and competitive prices. read more

Went with my boyfriend to get him some new shorts. The style of shorts he wears were extremely scarce, but there was an overwhelming quantity of cargo shorts, which he does not like. Asked one of the customer service associates where he might find the style of shorts he likes and his reply was "I don't know maybe look over there." And pointed to where we had been looking. Not much help there, finally settled for a couple pairs of shorts he might like. Went into the fitting room in the men's section and I went in with my boyfriend so I could stand outside the door and he could show me the shorts as he tried them on. My boyfriend didn't even get as far as closing the door of the dressing room when he hear a feminine voice warn, "Is that a woman in MY men's fitting room?!" Then she walked in, saw me standing there and just said, "Can't....can't", while shaking her head at me. She then explained that women cannot be in the men's fitting room and if my boyfriend wanted to show me what he was trying on he would have to walk outside the fitting room each time. Rude was an understatement and no where did the fitting room label itself as a "men's fitting room". You would think in today's climate that people would be a little more sensitive to gender. Thankfully, I am a female and identify as such, but you wouldn't want to say that to the wrong person. But the bottom line is you shouldn't talk to customers or people that way in general. read more

I bought a lazy boy sofa in June 2018 and very disappointed in the quality and wear and tear. The arm rest and foot rest are matted down and out of shape. Boscov sent over a rep and said it's not repairable because that's the way it's made. He reported back to Boscov and they called after over a month of waiting for an answer only to tell us there's nothing they could do. It's because we sit on it! Really??? What's it going to look like in a year??? We are retired with no small children. This is unacceptable !! I want my money back. I'm now going through Lazy boy directly for assistance. I will NOT buy another piece of furniture from Boscov because of their poor customer service!! I hope lazy boy comes through otherwise I'll have to call Channel 8 news consumer hotline and put it on television! read more

We came in today to look at and price out some new furniture. The store was very clean and organized. Their selection was pretty good for being a store that has a little of everything. The salesman was very nice (I forgot his name). He checked on us often and answered any questions we had. They had a pretty nice selection of sofa-beds also. The truly disappointing thing was that if we wanted a couch in a different fabric he said it would take 8-10 weeks for delivery. I don't know if that's a normal time period but we can't wait that long. Looks like we will be checking other stores. read more

I get the flyer in the Sunday paper. As I read through the cheaply printed pages with the wild sale price fonts, I envisioned a huge warehouse with metal shelves and rolling racks. I decided to check it out today, and boy, I was wrong. The store is as clean and modern as any J.C. Penny's or Macy's'. The selection of products are varied, and are fairly up-to-date. I spent some time going through the "As Seen on TV" aisles, amazed at the number of products (both in the store, and that someone actually came up with some of these wacky ideas!) I started in the men's department, and found exactly what I was looking for (the coveted navy blue suit that no one else in the world seems to carry). I also found a great summer seersucker sport coat. Both at excellent prices. Unfortunately, they didn't have the shoes I wanted in my size. Bestie spent a lot of time in the Women's department. Lots of dressy clothes, and activewear, which is what she needed. We will go here first when she needs something new for a more formal event. We browsed through housewares, linens, and furniture. The garden center was just in the midst of being set up. Another reason to check back here soon. All in all, it was a great place to shop, and the prices, while not rock bottom, were better than most of the other stores I've been in. Yes, a welcome addition to my shopping list. read more

I heard about Boscov's through a friend who told me they sell quality clothing at very low prices. I checked their website and the prices were in fact low on name brands I've heard of and wear. Unfortunately, there is only one Boscov's in Connecticut (although I heard one is coming to Milford later this year). I needed new pants for a wedding this weekend so I drove over an hour to get the store. I was not disappointed. Not only did I find pants for the wedding, I found several other pairs plus a shirt for work and a pair of shorts. My wife bought (surprise!) some items, too ~ slippers, shorts and a piece of jewelry for a gift. All that came to less than $180. Very impressed. My fiancé & I went there about a month ago looking to get a ring! This ring is not expensive but it's important to us bc it's what he's using to propose for now till our finances allows something else! The lady said I'm gonna send it out to get resized which we also had to pay for it! She said it will take 2-3weeks & it's been a month, guess what? I haven't heard from them! I called them & this rude lady had to call me back bc she wasn't able to find info! She called back & said the ring didn't get sent out 7 days after the purchase date so technically it haven't been 3 weeks! I told her that maybe your CSR should let the customers know that you takes forever to send things out! Well it's been more than 3 weeks now & I still haven't heard from them! Btw I had a ring custom made at Hannoush in the past & it took less than 3 weeks so this is ridiculous!! My first visit to the big B... And it is big. We were looking for an area rug and curtains. So we didn't find what we liked for an area rug but we hit a home run in the curtain department. Thank goodness for Connie!!! This is a shout out to Connie who is super patient and very knowledgeable. I have to say that the purchase did take awhile because some of our items we wanted needed to be phoned in as an order. However... It was a nice experience.
