This restaurant felt like a home-cooked meal blocks away from the touristy traps. The eggplant Parmesan came straight out the oven, hot and delicious. We loved the baked lamb.

Ambiance 5 of 5 - cute and cozy place with romantic lighting Food 4 of 5 - Cacchio was deliscious, pizza was different (thick and fluffy) but the sauce was excellent. Polpette could be a better mix. Try adding another dimension. Service 4 of 5 - gracious and kind Location off the beaten path down a dark ally.

What a charming place and experience?! The food may have been the best I've had in Rome, with generous portions at incredibly affordable prices! The staff made us feel so special! If we had more time, we would come again!

Meridionale is my #2 favorite restaurant in Italy. This was highly recommended by locals in Trastevere. After our first night dining here, we were so amazed that we came back a second time. The ambiance here is quiet and romantic but not boring or awkward. The interior is done up nicely but not too upscale - homey and inviting like a friend's living room. It would work well for date night or a casual night out with friends with house plants galore. Pre-COVID visit: We had amazing service throughout the evening on both visits. We were treated like royalty, to be honest. The restaurant was neither dead nor too busy, so our server was upbeat and gave us his undivided attention. Everything here is geared more towards locals in my opinion. The wine was super affordable and delicious. The portions were huge. The flavors were spot on for everything we tried. We can't wait to go back.

This was one of my favorite places to come to for dinner. I always had 2 side orders, le patate and la caponata. I would combine the two with some chili flakes on top and it was sooo bomb together. Really loved this dish. The food is bomb, a bit of a hidden restaurant, atmosphere is dope and the people here are so nice. Definitely going to miss this spot.

Yummy pasta. Cute vibes. Quiet Location. Friendly staff. Amazing chocolate cake--I considered going back the next day just for the cake

Fantastic food. The service was great, our waiters were very friendly and helpful. The place gives off old American diner vibes just because of the bright colored tables and the mismatched chairs. It is a cute little place you might miss if you blink.

Friendliest service the entire week dining in Rome. Arrived slightly before opening and still allowed in to be seated. Complimentary glasses of proseco to start along w grape juice "wine" for the kids. appetizer sampler, included tasting of all options. salmon carpaccio was light and refreshing. Best entree options were the seafood carbonara, lamb shank, and gracio. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in rome

What a great find! Our friends went to Meridionale when they were in Rome, and they told us we have to go, so thankfully we listened, and took them up on their suggestion. This restaurant is refreshing, a bit funky in it's decor, not a big restaurant, but just cozy enough without feeling overcrowded. You won't be able to find many tourists here, this is definitely a spot for the locals who know great food! And great food there was... it was our last night in Rome, so we all decided to get fresh pastas. They were absolutely delicious! The service was great, the ambience was perfect and the food was fresh and delicious. Go to Meridionale!!!!!

Very nice and good restaurant with a great atmosphere and the waiters are super nice and fast. But the food is super. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the restaurant. And the price level is reasonable €€

This restaurant is so cute. I loved all the decorations and ambiance this little place had. I made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday. The restaurant was 80% full by the time I left around 8:30. Customers were mix of locals and tourists. The dinner started of with a sparkling wine and some toasts (not sure if they were complementary). I had their delicious octopus pie for appetizer. It is called "pie," but it just has a very thin pie layer outside, so it's actually soft and not like a real pie crust. Octopus were chopped and soft, mixed with potatoes. I loved this dish. For the main, I tried the sea bass. So I noticed the side vegetables were exactly same side of the octopus appetizer. I was a little sad about it. Although I liked these veggies, it would have been nice if I had some more variety. The fish tasted a little blunt - so I asked for some lemon, which made it perfect. Not sure how they cooked the fish (edge area are crispy burned), but it was not what I expected. (I expected it to be more moisture finish) The tiramisu was nice, but not the best I've ever had. Overall, their service was great and the dining experience was very nice. I'll definitely come back and try different main dish next time.

Very Nice vintage place Where even the gostes is vintage dressed. A warm welkome and to our surprise a welcome drink had been offered. A small selection of Well chosen dishes. Suggestions of the week in function of the season. With the 4 of is we tried 6 different dishes: All of them very delisious! Service is a kind of funny as the cook prepares not by the table, but by the dishes, so the waitresses shuffle from one table to the other. No worry, once you notice it, you table is being served in very acceptable delays. We highly recommend this place Do reserve!

I loved this place so much that I want to cry! If I had to dream a low key welcoming place in Rome where I feel like I am in la-la-land, I could have not dreamed of such a perfect place. The carbonara was divine and the service perfect. We had a place on the small outside terrasse and it was just perfect. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Would definitely return.

This shop is more of a countertop order from their limited menu but the menu is executed so well you'll be tempted to order multiple bowls. There are a few stools and table out front to enjoy your food hot. Both times I've been on separate visits within two years, has only shown me how consistent their food and quality is. You can pair your dishes with an aperol spritz or mini bottle of wine for less than five euros. The pasta was about nine to eleven euros and the portions were more than plenty. The chef and owner are super nice and very informative about their dishes. If you are a fan of spice you have to try their chef-recommended dish. They had one dish topped with pancetta and I just about wanted to lick my bowl clean. Everyone in the group was raving how delicious it was. Egg will forever be on my must-have when visiting Rome.
