What an awesome find! We passed by the Cider House on our way to somewhere else, and decided to stop in on our way back. It has the warmest, most friendly vibe inside, and is clearly very popular with the locals. There is a little bit of seating out on the sidewalk and we sat out there since the weather was so nice. My wife ordered a flight of five ciders -- the bartender is super friendly and knowledgeable -- and we enjoyed sipping the different varieties while watching people walk by. A Boise must-visit! I'm a huge fan of ciders and try to sample local offerings on any trip to a new city. Meriwether quickly became one of my favorites in the nation. Their black currant cider is top tier, but I love that they even offer ciders not made in-house. With so many options to choose from, I was able to try a variety through a reasonably priced flight ($13). The bartender was very nice, outgoing, and helped me decide on the best additions based on my taste preferences. LOVE this place! We need more cider houses! We tried their cider at multiple other watering holes in Boise and were pleasantly surprised so we had to stop in. When we popped in, the place was busy! If I lived in Boise, I would come here all the time! My husband and I were in town visiting for the weekend. I loooove cider and could not pass this place up! The guy working was super friendly. He gave us the rundown of all the cider options--20 to choose from! 11 are made by Meriwether, they are the taps with the red handles on top. He had great recommendations and feedback to help us make our choices. We had to do a flight to try several of the options. They have cool wooden flight boards that come with little icons by each slot to designate which glass goes with which cider written on your card. I tried 4 Meriwether ciders: Strong Arm, Black Currant, Bannock Street Buzz, and Rosé. Plus one from a different cider place which was the Strawberry Mojito. All of them were delicious! My favorites were Strong Arm (a classic semi sweet cider) and Black Currant (perfect for warmer weather and spring vibes). My husband's favorite was the Winter Warmer which a bourbon barrel aged cider. We were also big fans of Bannock Street Buzz which had notes of cinnamon and would be great around the holidays. We enjoyed having our flights outside on the patio on a warm spring day. We ended up buying a four-pack before we left! I will definitely return next time I'm in Boise! read more

What a great surprise to walk in on a night with wonderful live music and discounts on growlers! Such a pleasant surprise, very friendly bartender and other patrons. Small place but clean and comfortable. Did not have food but there was a food truck at another business down the hall, some people got food from them and brought it over. Dog are allowed. Was in town and wandering around and stopped at this Cidery- no regrets! Locally owned and made I enjoyed my time at Meriwether and have since recommended it to anyone passing through Boise for great hospitality and good cider. I came in the evening before trivia night (couldn't stay but seems fun!) and was going to try some mulled cider- when one the owner/bartender saw I wasn't a fan was nice enough to offer me other things to drink- which made me appreciate this establishment even more. I tried the fruity flight which for $12 and generous pours was a great way to go! It had in house brews and also two selections outside the brewery which I appreciate. I do not consider myself a cider connoisseur by any measure, but this spot has some absolutely delicious options! First of all, shoutout to the extremely kind gentleman working the counter - very welcoming and helpful to us in choosing some sweeter cider options. My mother and I split a flight that included the Meriweather wild abandon (or something like that), Black Currant, Mango Chile Lime, Raspberry Rhubarb Pie, and the Paloma. All were so fresh tasting and perfect for a hot summer day. The Wild Abandon was our favorite. This shop itself was very cool with nods to the Lewis and Clark Trail and games & coloring pages available for customers to enjoy. The only thing I wish this spot had some kind of list for their pricing of apparel - I would have probably bought something if I knew! 10/10 would recommend if you're in the area and fancy some cider. read more

He answered our questions and explained that even the "out of town" ciders were from Corvallis - so still pretty local. I was hooked. I tried the Bourbon Peach and YUM!!!!!! "Juice from hand-picked Washington State peaches is married with the richness of Dry Fly bourbon barrels to give this cider a deep vanilla and plum character. This creates the perfect balance of sweet, ripe peaches and tartness of green apples. A touch of oak tannin finishes this cider off perfectly." My wife, daughter, and I were driving through Boise yesterday and our daughter noticed this place. My daughter asked both of is if we have ever heard or been in a cider house. Neither of us had so my wife wanted to stop. Since we passed it, we had to drive for a bit to find it again. We parked, then went inside. The gentleman who was working at the bar was so nice. We tried some warm cider and it was to die for. We had a black berry cider and it was delicious. Because of the rain, the outside dining was closed, but the bar tender told me often times people will get meals at other restaurants, then bring the food to the cider house and have cider with their meals on the patio. They also have another cider house on Chinden, in Garden City. I was glad to support a small business, and glad we went here. Located downtown right across the street from 10 Barrel Brewing if you in the mood for brewery hopping. Place felt a little cramped but there was plenty of seating indoors, outdoors, and upstairs. Lots of window seats! The flights and ciders are all well-priced and tasted delicious. My favorite was probably the Meriwether Cider Strong Arm and BlackBerry Boom. The Hop Shot was interesting because it actually tasted pretty sweet. They provide you with a flight card to indicate which cider is which; overall a really cute presentation. Water station was available in the back. I also saw some bigger bottles available to take to-go. My only complaint is that there is only one bathroom stall lol. I decided to do the flight and glad I did as I was able to try several of their many different ciders(I tried the dry ciders, my friend tried the sweet). I was very impressed with all; however, the perry cider (could be spelling wrong) was AMAZING! The gal serving us was super knowledgeable and very friendly. The place itself was inviting and comfortable. My husband and I went to Meriwether Cider after walking around the Capitol Marketplace and it was the perfect stop over for a treat of sorts. We had great service, the cider was all delicious, and the location had fun vibes with Trivia Pursuit games laying around to quiz who you are with. I had the Meriwether specific flight and I had a healthy pour of all the options. I don't think I had a favorite Cider because they were all so delicious and each had a unique taste. This is a place I will be going again and will bring guests when visiting. I am looking forward to the weather being a bit nicer to sit on the patio and I look forward to checking out the upstairs seating next time I am there.
