Having celiac disease and going out to bars never mix. It's a challenge to find bars with gluten free food and drink options. Typically, my options are ciders but I'm not a fan of angry orchard. Meriwether Cider Company offered a variety of ciders and non-alcoholic beverages. I could even have a cider flight. Definitely will come back when I'm drinking again. The staff and service was great. Amazing cidery! Was lucky enough to stop by here while on a road trip. Hours are a bit limited as they arent open around lunchtime, but it's worth the wait. We happened to catch the end of the Valentine's special which was a strawberries and cream nitro cider. Wish they could can this cider or have it on tap for growlers as it was by favourite hands down. The other ciders are all pretty tasty. I recommend getting a flight to try as many as you can. Service was super friendly and there is free popcorn that you can help yourself to in the corner. Seems like a popular local hangout. On a hot summer day sometimes getting some cold delicious cider is the right way to live. I live right! They have a bunch of quality ciders on tap, different flavors and some randomness. All in all this is a bit of a place you could drive by all day long but is a worthy stopping point. This place is a MUST visit while you're in Boise. Who doesn't want to try the BEST local cider in the state? We stumbled in here by accident after seeing their cider in Trader Joe's. I am so happy we did. When you walk inside you'll see the bar, some tables and some games to play. They had 8 different types of cider to taste. We tried all of them and were not disappointed by any. I am a fan of sweet ciders, so I was a happy camper. Personally, I love buying local, so this place was perfect. There is an article in the bathroom that tells you how Meriwether was started, and it warmed my heart. The bartender was kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Great cider and even better service! We first came across Meriwether Cider at Boise's Capital Market. They let us sample the Pineapple Habanero and told us about this location! We stopped in shortly after opening and loved it! There are so many ciders to pick from! They offer several of their own ciders, both staples and seasonals, as well as other regional ciders. Building a flight was fun - we each picked five from the expansive list. My favorites were the Chanilla (cherry vanilla, reminiscent of a cherry soda) and the Chaider (because fall flavors!). My boyfriend really liked their Hop Shot, which was like cider meets beer/IPA. The space is awesome! They sort of have a lumberjack theme. The bar tap handles for their ciders were axe handles, and the countertop was a gorgeous resin with wood slices. We didn't make it upstairs, but apparently it looked great too! I highly recommend going if you're in the area - and they ship too! read more

I would say if you have never been to Meriwether go to this location. It's in a way more of a hip spot and might give you a better experience. But I also love the other location as well! I have tried ciders on numerous occasions because my sister loves them and always makes me try hers but normally I find it too sweet and just...gross. I was driving down Chinden and saw a table set up selling bottles outside and something possessed me to stop... probably the fact I haven't had a drink in weeks due to covid. It's not your typical cider but to me that's what makes it better. If your not a wine or beer person or looking to avoid gluten you won't be disappointed. Try out the blackberry boom or the cherry thyme. This is a local run cidery by a super nice family. You can ask them anything you can learn a lot about the cider is made and they are always looking for flavor suggestions. The tap house is one of a kind in Boise; such a near spot. The bar top alone is just awesome; the decor is great.
