I've been coming every week as my "end of the week treat" and it's something I very much look forward to. I've only ever seen the owner, Kevin bartending. He is so friendly and gives great recommendations. He always ask's my style preference and it's usually an IPA of some sort. He has the largest selection of craft beer from all over that I've seen in Boise and surrounding areas. I'm sure he'll have something you'll enjoy. Food doesn't disappoint either. I've only ever seen an older gentleman in the kitchen and he surely knows what he is doing. Last week, I had the Habanero Bacon Grilled Cheese and it was AMAZING and I've thought about it all week. A tale of who experiences. If you're driven to seek a diverse selection of beers, this is excellent. The food though - you need to know they slashed the menu. It's down to 6 appetizers, 4 burgers, and 2 salads to choose from. Disappointed at that surprise as I was going there primarily for dinner and to have a beer. Cubano, French Dip, all gone. Many times when a restaurant cuts their menu, they can do better quality control. Not the case here - 3 stars. Twisted, Sweet & Smoky Burger was okay. Roasted red pepper had a nice sweet balance to the thick cut smoked bacon. Unfortunately, bacon very dry/overcooked so it was chewy like an oversized bacon bit. And I guess I'm generally not a fan of frozen Wagyu patties. They aren't juicy and tend to be chewy. So, too much dry and chewy in the burger. I tried a few of my friend's fries, and kind of the same thing. Very dry, chewy, and tough. Way too much garlic salt. I can't tell if they were freezer burned or they had been sitting above a fryer thawing for a while before they were dropped for the order. Glad I didn't order them. For a Friday at 6pm, seemed understaffed but the front of house employee was friendly despite running around like crazy. They do offer outside seating, bar seating, high tables, and regular tables, which is a nice blend of options. If all I wanted was a beer and a Bavarian Pretzel, this is a great place to go. read more

It was love at first bite! Great beer and delicious food! The pretzel was great and my husband said it's the best beer cheese he has ever had... and we've had our fair share of beer cheese. The beer to go with it was cold and refreshing as well (the Huckleberry Cream Ale was my favorite). Quick and friendly service. Typical beer bar environment with fun beer decor around. On a quiet afternoon, this was a great retreat. A wide selection of ciders & Beers with knowledgeable staff to guide your taste buds to right place. We selected The turkey, bacon and Swiss cheese toasted sandwich which comes with grandma's home made recipe minestrone Italian soup. Inside out: I think this location has been hard to notice for a long time, despite this I think it's a lovely location with plenty of parking. The inside and outside of the building seem clean and well-kept, the vibe inside is relaxed and exactly what you want for drinking a beer. Service: A friend of mine comes here all the time and is a regular, I went with them each time I've gone and the service has been great. Food/beer: I mean if you like beer come here. I think it's probably got to be one of the best selections I've ever seen and it's absolutely a blast to choose. Every drink I've picked so far has been delicious, the food isn't incredible but I can't say anything bad about it. Never had a meal I didn't like! Overall: this place is fun, I'm an introvert and I even went to a live band they had on a Friday and it was actually enjoyable. CopenRoss is always our location of choice when we get together with our friends. They have a huge selection of beers and ciders on tap. The owners are so kind and personable and make it a great experience. Although they are known for their drinks, their food is what I always look forward to. The pretzel with beer cheese is hard to beat. They also have great sandwiches and wings. On Thursday nights they have song bingo, which is always an event we look forward too. This is a perfect place to meet up with friends for a drink or a bite to eat. I highly recommend it! read more

The beer was good, but the "wagu" burger was nothing more than a Walmart frozen patty that was overcooked into a hockey puck. The fries that were a $3 add on were undercooked and mushy and cold. Fry sauce was good. I do not recommend ordering any burgers or fries from this place. It's not normal to feel like you're going to upset the bartender for wanting to order another beer! I just don't think we will back. He has had the same attitude all 3 times we have been. Went with friends yesterday. Beer selection is incredible, as is the hard cider selection. We each had a flight. All the ciders met with approval. I am very very early on in pregnancy. I've had a very difficult time eating food. The one thing that has sounded appetizing however, has been a soft pretzel with cheese. Thank goodness for CopenRoss Growlers, their pretzel really came through! As their menu states, the pretzel is absolutely large enough for two people. The cheese sauce served along side was a nicely in-house made warm cheesy bliss. Now, I didn't only have a pretzel. I also ordered French fries and a side salad (yes my prego food craving are very odd). Nonetheless I was very satisfied to finally eat a meal other than fruit and saltines. My husband ordered a rib sandwich with a side of potato salad. He inhaled the entire thing, so my assumption is that he enjoyed his meal as well. Although I was unable to consume any of their beers, my husband took full advantage of me being his DD and enjoyed a nice variety of the MANY beer selections this establishment offers. I am very much looking forward to our next dining experience there. Next time I will have to try the dessert pretzel. read more

Update - we have enjoyed trivia here recently "butt" this has made it very clear how uncomfortable their chairs are . Please, please get some more comfortable chairs if you want your patrons to stay for any period of time. There were several people who were standing next to the table to relieve their discomfort. This is a great neighborhood spot on the Boise Bench. They have an amazing selection of beer and wine to serve or fill your growler. Their food selection is fine, a bit limited but I think it's due to the kitchen they have. The outdoor space is good. read more

We really wanted to love this place. we've been there a few times and have had good service from a friend of the owners. This last time was not great. Mail server behind the bar offered no help with the taps they were offering. We ordered chips and salsa which he brought to our table and slapped down so hard the salsa spilled out of the container onto the table. I can live with that, these things happen, but following his lackluster service it was disheartening. We have eaten there several times and the food is just okay. We had a pretzel that was great. Fried green beans bland (even salt would help, but any spices would really improve this dish), burger/sandwich okay, chips & salsa terrible. Hopeful they get a new cook or change the menu. My brother wanted to check some new place and we spent a little bit of time trying to find it through his phone but we eventually found it with my phone. Sounds like his phone was outdated right? Anyways we come up to CopenRoss and it's easier to find than having the map tell you where to go. Walked in and it's got a great vibe, friendly staff willing to help with all the delectable wonderful beer choices they have. Very knowledgeable staff, food is excellent! I got the a wheat beer which I don't remember the name but it's close to your old hef style beer. I also ordered a jalapeño cheese pretzel with jalapeño ranch. I ordered also the monster sandwich. The pretzel was superbly delicious! Nice crispy on the outside with the jack cheese melted on the inside. You sprinkles of cheese on top of the pretzel that gives it a nice crunch. My monster sandwich was different from any where I have been. The sandwich was made with ingredients that I can't even think of. The bread was like focaccia, light, airy, and the choice of meats mixed with a may Dijon and a sweet chili lime flavor. Very interesting and was a really tasty sandwich. I liked the baked fries, one thing I would next time is ask not to have salt added. The fries were baked nice and crispy. Rereview: most of the brewmasters here need to get a personality! We like this place BUT we (my guy and me) always feel like we are bothering the guy at the taps. No matter who is there. Can he smile? Can he engage? Can he educate us on the ciders? Also, it is apparent your food is made then zapped in the microwave. It is frankly, lacking. You do not have a full kitchen and last time we had food there we waited 20 minutes for sandwiches. You were not busy. This leads me to believe you are disorganized when it comes to making and serving food. I hope you get better at food. Until then, I will eat before dropping in or eat after a brew. read more

Coolest place to have a beer on the Bench! It's so great to see the Overland/Orchard neighborhood score this winner. Endless selection of beers, including sours (!)
