We vacation in the area twice per year, for the last 8 years. We have systematically moved towards Santa Rosa and beyond as the years went by. Thus, we never tried Merlin's...our loss. We were pleasantly greeted and served. Chelsea our server was a pro. I had thin crust pepperoni explosion and my wife had gluten free chicken pesto pizza. Both were very good and Chelsea knew what I meant when I asked her to cut mine in squares...she called it 'family cut.' The ONLY reason this isn't 5 stars (4.5 isn't an option) is the prices are a tad high...but it's a tourist area and $ not completely unreasonable. When we are in Destin proper, this will be our go-to pizza joint. read more

Absolutely fantastic!! We had the White Pizza and added Spinach and tomatoes. We fly down to Destin very often. We just found our new spot.

The food was decent. We had the combo pizza and the meatballs for an appetizer. The consensus was that Papa John's is just as good. I think part of our disappointment was the service we received from our server, Miranda. She was quite unfriendly and acted as though she hated her job, which definitely doesn't do anything for the experience. The pizza is pretty freaking good. The waitress very nice and welcoming. The bathroom was clean and smelled nice. Pizza is very cheesy and saucy. Burning my toung was worth it lol. Best part is you can have a beer while you wait. Absolutely positively THE BEST PIZZA, not just in Destin, but that I have EVER HAD! My husband and I love pizza and have always enjoyed Mellow Mushroom and Memphis Pizza Cafe. However, we look forward to Merlin's every time we come in town. We usually take it back to the condo, but eating there is fun for kids and friendly service. Came here on a whim after driving 10 hours from Houston, Texas and just needed to get some food. Wow were we surprised!! Small place but worth every star of the 5. Loved the pizza and the service.
