On vacation in Destin. Ordered pizza, tracked its progress through the app, when it came time to meet the delivery driver at the condo we are staying at, it didn't arrive. Called them directly, they told us they have no control of contacting a customer through the third party app that they use to take orders. Merlin cancelled the order, and we were told by them that it would take another hour to get our order to us. A ridiculous amount of time for pizza honestly, given we'd already waited an hour and a half for the delivery. Called the third party app for a refund, and that was an easy enough process, but Merlin didn't seem to care less. Understand that it's a tourist hotspot, and they probably get a lot of traffic, but their customer service is terrible, and if they care that little about fulfilling orders, I imagine that probably comes across in their product too. Will be back in Destin, will never place an order with these guys again. read more

When it comes to pizza, Merlin's Pizza in Destin, Florida is one of the best. Every time we visit Destin, a trip to Merlin's is on our agenda, and should be on yours too. The restaurant itself is pretty simple. A few tables and chairs fill the small space. If you show up during supper time, expect to wait a few minutes for a table to open up - but it's worth it. And if dining in isn't your thing, Merlin's also offers carry-out and delivery. Merlin's offers their pizza on either a thin crust or hand tossed, and both are excellent. The hand tossed has a buttery crisp texture and a hearty, tasty texture that you'd expect from a thicker pizza. The thin crust is no slouch either, and it holds up very well to the amount of cheese and toppings Merlin's puts on their pies. We tried the Pepperoni Pub pizza, and it's our top recommendation. If that's not available (it may be seasonal, or rotating, I'm not sure), the Pepperoni Explosion is also great. Merlin's doesn't skimp on their toppings, a big plus, and their cheese is very good and cooked to gooey perfection. Merlin's is one of our favorite places to eat in Destin, and I can't wait until I get to eat there again. Do yourself a favor and eat Merlin's Pizza. read more

Solid pizza. We ordered a half cheese/half pepperoni and it was good. Ordered a half buffalo chicken and half bacon ranch chicken and that was also good. Also ordered a Hawaiian pizza and several salads. I like that you can order different halves on one pizza so that it is easy to try different kinds. Merlin's Pizza is a busy place! There are a few tables inside for dine-in...grab a table and a staff member will come to you. Salads are fresh (love the ranch). After seeing so many great reviews, we had confidence that this pizza would be homemade and taste awesome; however, in my opinion, it was everything but that. This is not homemade crust as they advertise. It tasted very cheap and of poor quality. Also, no one inside was wearing a mask and someone in the back area of the kitchen had a cough....the men working were very pleasant though. I really had to examine the pizza, because it tasted exactly like a Little Cesar's pizza. My guests also agreed they thought it tasted exactly the same as Little Cesars. It was greasy, cheap, and lacked a "homemade" flavor. These pizzas are not homemade (I homemake pizzas and am from the Philly area so I've tried several really good pizzas in my lifetime.) The cheese bread was decent, but very greasy and again, the bread was not homemade. We ordered sweet Buffalo sauce for our boneless chicken wings, and were given BBQ (I can't eat that). Overall, please save your money and go to Little Cesars, as these will taste the exact same but not hurt your wallet at LC! read more

Decided to try this place since it was the most highly rated pizza place in Destin. When we showed up we took a seat after not being greeted by anyone. play waitress soon approached and said that our server was taking a break and asked if she can get us something to drink. We each ordered a soft drink and waited for her to return. she approached the table that had just sat behind us and told them the same thing about the server being on break. She later returned to take our order and we ordered the appetizer of meatballs and marinara. We also ordered the meat feast pizza and a side salad. We waited approximately 15 to 20 minutes before anything came out of the kitchen and the first thing to arrive was of course the pizza. I quickly told her that we ordered not only an appetizer but also a salad and that those things should have come out first. The server was now off of break and she was the one who brought our food and quickly made an excuse that because they transferred the table things got mixed up. I canceled the salad being it was pointless at that point and she went back to get the meatballs. She apologized for the mishap and we had to ask for a drink refill. The meatballs were not bad but did not taste like they were homemade. The pizza was the best part of the meal and it was actually pretty good. There was a couple behind us with a screaming baby which added to the frustration of the night. overall I can't write the place more than three stars due to the terrible service we received tonight. read more

I was very disappointed in the service and business practices of Merlins Pizza. I am an out of town guest at one of the many hotels that has a business relationship with Merlin's Pizza. When I offered to purchase a thank you dinner for some of the staff of the hotel, for a great week of hospitality, I was informed that they wanted Merlin's, they have had it before and enjoy the food. When they were unable to get through on the telephone, to place an order, I offered to create them an account, so they could order through the internet in the future. I paid for the order and offered to pick up, because the order said it would take 60 minutes to pick up, and delivery was not working on the website. They gave me a copy of my paid receipt, since the account is their's to use in the future. I went to pick up the dinner, which is less than 3 miles from the hotel, but traffic took 15 minutes to get there. Once there, spoke with the manager about the situation and that the hotel has a pricing relationship with Merlin's and explained that the order was placed online, due to not being able to call in. The manager informed me that their phones were down and apologized. The manager then checked with the ownership group of Merlin's about adjusting the bill for the employees and I was told that since the order was online and their relationship is for Merlin's to deliver so that their delivery vehicle is seen to be a form of to advertisement they would not be able to honor the request for a receipt adjustment, based upon their relationship. I was willing to still go forward with the purchase, but now we are over 30+ minutes into the time of the initial order and the order has yet to go to cooking stage and furthermore, it would be another 60 minutes wait, as the staff told this to others waiting for orders. I ultimately cancelled, the order, went to a nearby restaurant offering the same type of food requests and was able to provide dinner for a great well deserving staff, that are often overlooked looked at hotels. I am writing this review to point out the first rule of the service industry, "When are unable to deliver satisfactory service, you go above and beyond to satisfy the request of the consumer, when possible." read more
