Celebrating my friends birthday. She made the appointment and I decided to do a pedicure despite the short days, cold nights, I wore sandals and capris, for a Pedicure. I pretended it was summer time. I pretended it wasn't going to get cold and dark at 5:00 pm. All for a pedicure. It was worth it. The Covid protocols were in place. Limited capacity, temperature checks, masks, gloves and excellent service. My poor feet were in need of TLC. I decided on gel because I think we're going on lockdown soon. This spot will become a regular situation as they are very clear about pricing too. I know that some customers complain about nail salons jacking up prices unnecessarily, so their clear pricing was appreciated. I mean regular as in when this pandemic is under control. Until then...Cheers and Happy Yelping, and make an appointment!!
This was my first time back since last year and everything is as pleasant as i remember.( I ended up giving my natural nails a break from acrylics.) The soft, soothing music playing in the background added to the overall tranquility of the space. I always do enjoy watching the videos they have playing on their tvs as well! The staff were very friendly, professional, and attentive from start to finish. They took the time to listen to my preferences and offered personalized recommendations based on my needs. It was evident that they were highly skilled and passionate about their craft, as they meticulously worked on my nails with precision and care. The selection of services at Mermaid Nails is extensive, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Whether you're looking for a classic manicure or a trendy nail art design, their talented technicians have you covered. The quality of their products was top-notch, and I was impressed by the wide variety of colors and finishes available. So treat yourself to some pampering by paying a visit to mermaid nails. Went for a pedicure and got to add not one but TWO trips to the hospital. After an extra vigorous clipping, three days later I was in Urgent Care for an ingrown toenail and infection. A second trip to podiatry was needed in order to surgically fix the problem. I would add more recent photos of the injury, but they're probably too gross. Here's the toe a week after surgery. Short story, you might want to consider somewhere else.
Today was my first time going to this salon after many failed attempts as they are always booked out for months. Now I know why. I love how small and quiet it is. Everyone is very nice and the music/atmosphere is so relaxing. Rosie did a great job on my nails and I got the best pedicure I've had since I can recall. Already looking forward to going back.
If you're not already coming here, you're missing out. Rosie and her husband are . Text, DM, call to set up an appointment first. They can't take walk-ins most of the time because they're always booked. Honestly they should be charging way more. But I'm glad they keep it within this teacher's budget ! I've been coming here for over a year and have never been disappointed :)
Haven't had my nails done for many many years. Decided I wanted to try gel nails out. I came here and they did a great job. My nails however are really thin so it didn't stay on. Came back and tried the dip. Sure loved that and they looked amazing but came off pitiful my nails too - but lasted about 12 days. So I went back to acrylics. ( I'm lazy ) The shop is quiet and services are so soothing I practically fall asleep when I'm there. So glad I came here! I highly recommend!
I was in the space to return to Acrylics but wanted some specific options so I searched on Yelp and came across Mermaid Nails. All of the reviews are amazing and I thought let's give this a try. Rosie took care of me and she was able to create what I wanted so easily and by looking at my pictures of ideas. Prices were very reasonable and I am IN LOVE with my nails! They do book up so make that appointment! Do not hesitate.
My husband and I moved to the Monterey area from New York just over two years ago and I have tried countless salons! Everywhere else has been okay, but I am SO beyond happy and grateful to have found Mermaid Nails in Marina. I was super lucky to have been able to get an appointment the same day. They were SUPER responsive and very kind via text! My appointment was at 4:00 pm and there was one other person with the same appointment time. We were the only clients there which was nice, especially because it was a Saturday. The environment was very calm, peaceful, and comfortable which is always a plus! My nail technician was Rosie and she was very kind and attentive, ensuring I was completely happy with the shape of my nails as well as the color + end product. She was done in less than an hour! This is my first Yelp review, but I could not pass up the opportunity to give Rosie as well as the salon a HUGE thumbs up and ENDLESS kudos because they deserve it!! I've never been so happy with my nails until now! I can't wait to come back! Look no further and book an appointment!!! HIGHLY recommend!!
This place is great! -By appointment only (it's calm, quiet, and relaxing) -Friendly staff -Beautifully done nails! Service I received: acrylic and gel nails Decided to check this nail salon out since it was rated highly on Yelp. Showed the nail tech a photo of what I wanted and they were great in taking their time with the design. They lasted a good amount of time too (I could have had them for another week and a half!). They were pricey, but I loved them! Got my acrylic and gel nails off recently and felt like I was getting another nail treatment. The nail tech was patient and careful in removing my nails. My natural nails are not very damaged which is awesome (I've had horrible experiences elsewhere). Totally recommend!
i'm not one to write reviews but with my experience here it just felt wrong if i didn't. the first picture was the reference i showed them and the second one was what they had done. when i tell you i almost cried tears of joy from the relaxing ambiance of the shop to how i felt my nails were being taken care, i would rate this place an infinity out of 5 if i could. they always check in with you if everything is how you want it to be before proceeding and they're also very gentle when taking care of your hands (which is rare to find). their timing is also very good, started with me within the first five minutes of me sitting down and finished right as their next appointment walked in. will definitely come back!!
*They do book fast and it's by appointment only. I had to leave a review. Communication is amazing. They also send a reminder a day before to confirm your appointment. My sister and I have been coming here for almost a year I believe and we love it . Everything is so clean and relaxing. Rosie is amazing you show her a design and she recreates it as best as she can. She does not disappoint, very kind and attentive making sure you like the shape before doing anything else. I also took my 9 year old daughter in December to get her birthday nails done and she loved them I believe Tu did them very attentive and making sure it was to her liking. They take there time and you don't feel rushed. Very friendly staff, Highly recommend !

I'm so glad I came here yesterday! Hannah did an amazing job on my nails and pedicure. The salon is small but very clean and the ambiance is nice! I love that this place is reasonable in terms of pricing and that they don't charge you up the wazoo for stuff like removing gel and acrylic. Back home, salons would find every little reason to add a charge (even removing regular polish). In total for a gel mani, French tip, and pedicure I paid 66 (not including a cash tip). They are pretty booked up but if you can get an appointment I would highly recommend. read more

I must admit, I don't get my nails done on a regular basis. I do, however, always get them done when I go on vacation. Mermaid nails was recommended to me by my sister and God-daughter. They warned that I would need to schedule an appointment as they get booked up quickly. During my appointment, I love that I did not feel as though I was in a factory to be rushed out the door. Since their appointments are scheduled accordingly, everything seemed to operate like clockwork. The owner and two women who work here are very professional, hardworking and good at what they do. My mani-pedi was done perfectly. The design I sent ahead of time was applied exactly as pictured by Rosie. Although my nails are simple, I love how having them done makes me feel, especially while on vacation. Thanks for a great experience Mermaid Nails! I will definitely be coming back. read more

Rosie blows me away. She is awesome, super fast, but not rushing. She is just that good. Everyone here is friendly and polite. They want people to feel comfortable so they have all the Covid mandates - masks, plexiglass, social distance. I would definitely set an appointment, and I'd highly recommend going here. New salon on the peninsula and I loved it! Amazing customer service, great prices. They have an iPad where you sign in and get to spin a virtual wheel. Rosie is amazing with acrylics. I had a full set done with ombré and a cut v design. She did amazing. I will definitely be back for a fill and a pedicure soon. read more

My mom and I got our nails done here and got seen the same day, but usually they are so busy scheduling wise, we got so lucky! I can see why they get booked fast, Rosie is the absolute best! After seeing the reviews and photos on yelp I decided to make an appt for myself and my daughter. I'm so glad I did. My daughter's nails were done by Rosie and there were amazing. She does beautiful work. I decided on the dip manicure and I love it! I wish I remembered the gals name but she did great too! We will definitely come back! This was my first time here, I tried it because I saw they do Dip nails. In these uncertain times they were prepared with hand sanitizer partitions where needed and scheduled people out so that there wasn't more then a few people in the salon at a time. Felt very safe and my nails came out great! So happy that I tried them. My nails were a wreck from trying to do home manicures and I even tried to do Dip powder at home and my nails paid the price. I am happy I decided to go back to a salon and this one in particular. Super new, super nice, and they even text to confirm with you and let you know its okay to come in (COVID times) and have a rewards system! And a little spin the wheel for a deal. I got $3 off my service today. Overall highly recommend! Will definitely be a return customer and likely regular customer. read more
