I normally don't write negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience to warn other customers. After receiving three consecutive pedicures--the last one in March 2025--I developed a serious fungal infection that caused intense pain, sleepless nights, and a significant financial burden. I had never experienced a nail fungal infection before. Three weeks after the pedicure, I began to feel severe pain in my big toe. It became red, inflamed, and painful enough to require a visit to the ER and a specialist. The medical conclusion was that the infection was caused by the pedicure. Reflecting on the experience, I realized that proper hygiene protocols were not followed. My feet and toes were not dried thoroughly, and the towels used appeared unclean--they were greyish and had visible spots. I also noticed that minimal soap, antiseptics, or proper care products were used during the process, which likely contributed to the infection. I share this to encourage others to be cautious and ensure that cleanliness and proper care are prioritized when selecting a salon. read more

Aspire is a hidden gem in Marina. They do an excellent job on both fingers and toes. Vicky did my pedicure earlier this week paying close attention to detail. I felt amazing post pedicure. She was super nice and a total gem. She did not have time to do a manicure and is not a pro at dip nails so she scheduled me for next week for a manicure. I told her that I could come in quickly if she got a cancellation this week. She called the next day and said that Ha had a cancellation slot available if I could get there quickly. I went right away and got a gorgeous mani (see photo) from Ha. My nails were destroyed, bitten and bleeding from the stress over moving. She was able to add tips, dip my nails and even trim this super short so I could feel comfortable with them. I am SO impressed with this nail salon! Both Ha and Vicky were super nice and easy to talk too! read more

This place is ok. They didn't care about appointment times, we're really rough when they did my eyebrows, and overall were just rude. They were very aggressive about paying in cash over card and when I told her I didn't have cash, she looked in my wallet. The whole experience wasn't relaxing. I've come here for pedicures a couple times a year for the last 8 years and the service has gotten worse and worse. They judge you for having small nails And make it clear that if you do not pay in cash they do not want your future business. Anytime you make an appointment they will make you wait 15-30 minutes and then the whole pedicure process is extremely slow. A gel pedicure takes them 1- 1 1/2 hours. Over the weekend we decided to walk out and walked into another salon that was very accommodating and had us seated and out the door within 30 minutes. They did cost a bit more but it was so worth it. Over all the quality of work is decent. However I am happy to pay more at a different salon that respects scheduled appointments, and is overall customer oriented. #youjustlostmybusiness read more

I finally got fed up with the other salon I was going to and decided to come back here. I love Aspire! Good prices ($40 for a gel pedicure) and good work. The women working were nice as always. They only have 4 pedicure chairs, and 2 nails stations so I recommend calling ahead for an appointment. You can pay with card, but bring cash for a tip. read more

I always loved coming to this place. Lila, Vicky, and Ha are always great. Came in for a powder dip mani and gel pedi for Mother's day. Gel pedicure was good as always by Vicky. There was a customer for eyebrows who was asked to wash hands but she refused to and prefers to use hand sanitizer. Van who was doing a manicure unprofessionally mocked on the customer and rudely said "I guess not everybody likes water", customer didn't hear it but I thought it was rude as other customers heard it. Now it's time for my mani, I have old powder dip nails and I want to switch color. Van told me if she puts gel color over my filled powder dip it might come out different color. I said "whatever she thinks is better". Then gives me option if I want to re-do my nails with a different powder dip or fill and put gel over it. I said I don't mind redoing my nails as she was suggesting that it's gonna come out with a different color. She then grabs a nail cutter and tries to cut my natural long nails. I said I wanna keep my length and with attitude she said "It's gonna take longer". Then I got frustrated and asked "It's fine if you can't do it" since she's been giving me attitude the whole entire time. She even acknowledge and said "I know you always get your nails done here", and that's how she treats a loyal customer. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. She freakin' made me cry due to frustration on a MOTHER'S DAY where you look forward to having your own time and enjoy yourself. I live in the area, and I have always walked by this place, and was curious as to how their nail services are. I read several reviews, and looked at the photos before agreeing to myself that I would book an appointment a week in advance (right after finals!) My appointment was at 9AM and I waited for several minutes until they opened up. As I walked in, I noticed the area was well ventilated, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The ladies (there were 2 working today) were nice, and the lady that did my nails did such a stellar job! I've been to several other nail salons in Seaside and Monterey, but this place takes my heart. The nail tech I had took her time, never cut me or caused me pain, and was very delicate with her work. One thing new that I noticed was that this nail salon does not use UV Lamp Nail Polish Dryers. They used fans instead, which of course takes longer, but is much safer because your skin won't take any UV damage. At the end, I only paid $20 for a job WELLLL DONE! (Which is super affordable for college students like me!) Long story short, this will be my new go-to place. I cannot wait to reccommend this slice of pie to my friends. read more

I have been a customer for a little over 2 years now, and Van is STILL my go-to person here. Ha, Van, and the other lady there are all super sweet and friendly. Once you become a regular, walking in there is just comfortable. If I could give any advice to future customers, I would recommend MAKING AN APPOINTMENT; they turn down most walk-ins. And in their defense, they do fill up pretty quick. Dip powder seems to be a new thing these days but to my knowledge, they do not provide that service. I had an acrylic re-fill and I must say the guy was extremely detail oriented, handled with finesse and was quick (plus he had a good sense of humor). The price was just right! They charged me $15 for just regular nail polish. The appearance of the salon is not like a 5-star, so If you're looking to pay for luxury, keep driving. I chose this salon because there's not many open on Mondays. I called on 1/31 to make an appointment for Monday 2/10. Before I hung up, I made to repeat that my appointment was for 2/10 to make sure they write it down correctly. I came in at 11 for my appointment and when I told them I had an appointment they both looked surprised. One of the ladies even said "oh, you have an appointment today?" I said "yes at 11." Neither of them said anything afterwards and proceeded to help another client who came before me, so I waited assuming I would be next. When the other client was finished the lady came up to me with her book and showed me that my number was not written down for an appointment at 11. I insisted that I called and I talked to someone and make the appointment for TODAY AT 11. I even showed her my call log. She looked back at last weeks appointments and of course my number was written ON LAST MONDAY. She apologized and said she was sorry for writing it on the wrong day. I told her when I called I specifically made it for the 10th. She asked if I could come back at a later time since her appointment for 11 today was waiting. I said "no, I will not be coming back at all." I understand things like this happen, but what is the point in making an appointment for them to write it down on the wrong day.... such an inconvenience for me. read more

Van is extremely rude and her acrylic nail work is sloppy. If you dare ask her to straighten or re-file a nail, she'll say your finger is crooked. She's also cut my cuticles to the point of bleeding so I stopped having her do my nails. She has no finesse when doing pedicures either. She is very rough when massaging legs. Ha could also do a better job on gel manicures. She left my nails lumpy looking as her buffing and polishing skills are poor. I went back to show her how awful they looked and she said there was nothing wrong with them. There are other places on the peninsula that do a better job.
