I typically go to a private nail tech but I decided I wanted a manicure and remembered seeing this spot. The girls are all very young but work fast and efficient. I believe Lin helped me and she cleaned my cuticles up perfectly! I paid $35! Not bad!! I'm definitely coming back to see how their acrylic sets are! :)

I had high hopes for this salon, most reviews were pretty positive. I don't get my nails done often but my nails and cuticles were in need of a major clean up. I asked for the first photo, just a shorter set of French tips with dip and showed them this photo. Well, after being juggled back and forth between techs, I received something not very close to what I requested and there was no care taken to help my dry cracked cuticles. For the price, i guess I was hoping for a little more than what I was given. Sadly, won't be returning.

Y'all please don't come here if you want to over spend with barely service. My only advice is, avoid the guy. 5 stars for the girls that did our services. 1 stars for the guy, Tim, and his customer service. So I called this place for a last minute appointment. I was slightly annoyed at first that the person who picked up was adamant we come in within 20 mins. We needed time to get ready, and there was the 10 min driving time. 4:00pm wasn't going to cut it for us. The person calls back and said 4:15 should work. So when we got there, we had 2 manicures, 2 pedicures. Granted I had gel for both my feet and hands. The people were nice. However, the person who did my gel manicure didn't do a massage. I asked about the massage, and he said, "oh it only comes with cuticle oil." Bro, you and I both know massage comes standard gel manicure. If it only comes with cuticle oil, you really shouldn't be charging a whole $30 for a gel manicure. So it was $160 in total. Plus tipped every $20 each for a tip. That's $220 total. The gals who did our services definitely deserves the amount we paid for. The guy? He maybe talented at acrylic nail designs, but the lack luster customer service from him wasn't great. He definitely did not deserve that $20 tip. I do have to agree with some of the other reviews, he was rough with the cuticles. On top of that, Tim went off and took care of another walk in client in the middle of my service. I didn't mind him taking care of the walk-in. I'm normally pretty cool with it. Just looking at some of the past reviews, Tim seems kind of petty. Will we be back? Probably not. Because the more I'm writing about the service here, the more angry I'm becoming.

I randomly found this salon and have been a loyal customer since 2021. There honestly isn't another salon that can compare locally. My nails are always on point. They are super consistent with the quality and designs here in Salinas. I moved a couple times during the last 2 years but they are so good I keep coming back!!! Not to mention, I got my mama and my bf coming here consistently for their appointments too!! The staff are always so kind and patient with all the requests I've had over the years. lyn is truly a gem. She is very understanding every time I come either by appointment or walk in. They even fix my nails whenever I have an accident. They know me so well. Everyone always seem happy to be here and care about their customers. The staff, quality of service and the whole ambiance is what keeps me coming back. Highly recommend them.

I'm new to town, moved here October 2022 and still haven't found a nail place until I came here... the first time i had mixed feelings because i had the best pedicure by an older woman and an average short nail design by the guy... although the nail shape and thickness was disappointing... the nail design was lit ..... so I tried other places. I kept trying new places but all nail places kept doing a crappy job.. so i was like, you know f*** it, I'll give them another try because my first visit was mixed feelings.. So this second time around I got the nail tech IVY, and she didn't disappoint So yes I'll be coming back as of now.. also she was nice, took her time and didn't cut me like other places.. Thank Jesus i found this place..

Service Requested 5/5 Quality 5/5 Vibe 5/5 If you want beautiful-artistic nails, Helen is your girl! I have been going to her for many years. She used to work in Capitola, and I would travel from San Jose to Capitola every other months to get my nails done. So glad she's now in Salinas, the drive is more pleasant for my visit. I truly appreciate the strong quality nails and Helen's artistic talent. My nails lasted a whole month+ without breaking. I like everything French tips, so I would bring her an example picture of what I like and she would recreate the exact ones or revision a better style with a modern twist to it. She just gets my vibes these days! I just let her know what I'm wearing, the theme, and she just gets creative with it. Just sit back and enjoy the magical moment. My nails come out perfect every time, and remained healthy too. You will not be disappointed with Helen's work. She can get really busy at times, so appointments are recommended. I felt pressured to tip as well, and there was a gentleman that came in for a pedicure and one of the girls was like basic? (Cheapest option) then another lady was like "eh eh" like don't get him to chose that option, so they can charge him more later my gel manicure is already chipping and it's only been a week. Also they cut my toe nail too short, that grew into an ingrown. I don't mean to be that person, but this was not worth 85$ and then pressuring me to tip! read more

Called this morning and told them what time I would probably come... Walked in around 1pm so I got in right away (easy since I think they're quiet midday because everyone's at work and school). They did a really nice job on my gel nail manicure. I have short nails so short and sweet for spring! read more

What a quaint place in oldtown Salinas. This place gives you ma and pa vibes and everyone is so sweet. I love the area that it's in (around the corner from tons of shops and eateries) and they really do a great job. They are detailed and have great customer service. I got a pedi with the works and regular mani with shiny buff. Will definitely come here again. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now and it just recently got new owners. And the changes they have made looks like a totally different salon! Great experience here. The salon is really clean and well kept, and the attention to detail is on point. First, I haven't had a real manicure since way...before COVID. I keep my nails natural and basically do my own. However I felt it was time to pamper myself and so I did a walk-in to a place I had not visited in a long while. Now I wish to thank AMY for her wonderful service. Her professionalism and attention to detail was amazing. Though I was only getting a simple square rounded cut with a clear coat. She took the time to compare each finger to the opposite for length and shape. Though the decor might say otherwise her service and skill was exceptional. Don't judge a book by its cover. My new fav nail shop! I usually go to independent nail artists, but decided to go to a nail salon this time around and I'm so glad I went to Tulip Nails. I found my new nail shop! I forgot the girls name who did my nails, but she was young. She was quick, efficient, and detailed. I was worried by how quickly she was working that maybe she wasn't going to focus on the details but I was def wrong. She did an amazing job, very skilled. The location is a little hole in the wall, but inside it's so cute. I will be returning back and be suggesting this place to others. I'll be back soon for my Christmas nails :) ! read more

Today was my first time at Tulip Nails, and boy was I not disappointed! The salon is clean and neat, there was no wait time although I was a walk-in and Tim was my nail technician. My new go to spot! The girls there do an amazing job! I never wait more than a few mins before they get me in a chair and start :) I like really long nails and I like "IG girl" quality nails without having to pay a ton. Tulip nails does just that for me! The first time I went I did a fill with french tips, gem and fixed a broken nail $70 yesterday I went and did a fill and solid color $40 can't beat those prices. Additionally everyone is so sweet and welcoming. read more

Best experience ever! My daughter and I were greeted and quickly offered a selection of snacks and drinks while we waited. A few short minutes later, Lany and Thao came over to take care of us. I came in desperate for a manicure and pedicure after a long work day...without an appointment... during COVID-19. I know that all of the salons have been under hardship due to having to close but are now slowly reopening. I hadn't been able to pamphlet myself for months! I came across this nail salon and to my surprise they were open for business and were happy to see me! I was immediately attended to. It was such a relaxing experience. My favorite part was the hot stone treatment that was included in my Tulip Pedicure. I love my cotton candy pink, coffin shaped, gel fill set! I will be coming back! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would !! Worst place ever to go to !! I got my nails done with Ana don't come here they charged me $50 for this set & when she said she was done I told her "can you cut at least the cuticle because you didn't cut it" obviously as seen in the picture it needs to be cut & she said "$5 more if you want the cuticle cut" I was like what ! Why if that's part of the job & she said no it's extra!! I have never been to a place where they charge extra to get your cuticle cut . I will never be coming here again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. By far the worst experience I have ever experienced. Went in for a refill and design. First they hurt two of my cuticles making them bleed.. second I believe his name was Tim, being super rude yelling at me for what I wanted, saying I needed new set. I was on my lunch so no time for new sets... So I tried to find a color close to what I wanted on his shelf while they did my nails and when started he helping me he kept getting frustrated with me after two colors he picked out, that I just stopped trying to find my color, and went with the one who thought was the one ... after that he tried doing the design I wanted but before he kept going I told him plain is fine because it didn't go well with the color.. he got upset again and told me I wasted his time and I told him I was still going to pay for his service .. He started charging me and told me all upset with me that he didn't take his lunch to paint my nails which probably took 5 mins since it was just color in the end... he didn't clean up my nails and left them bumpy and I got cut twice and he was the one who was mad ... I don't know if the second pic shows up but you can see how bumpy the nail polish is left and left some white polish on my nail. So I left him $5 tip after being charged for my nails I wasn't happy about and will have to get redone elsewhere ( which really I should have not tipped but I did it out of kindness ) .. and Tim told me to never come back here again. I was already sad but hearing that just broke me. Not that I wanted to go back after that experience but that was not even necessary. It was so mean. Best of luck to them. read more

I'm so super happy that I tried this place finally. Due to covid of course things are different but I felt safe here. They followed correct protocol. Got my temperate checked and each sit was covered appropriately. I will definitely be coming back here. I got a regular pedicure and gel manicure. I'm very pleased with the service here. I've been here multiple times in the past 3 years they have been open. My first few times with the older ladies were great and I have no complaints about them. I recently came back in June and got acrylics for the first time. The man (older of the two) who serviced me, made me bleed under my nail and on my cuticles. A week later I got a fill and literally got the same color (of my own nail polish) and added a design on my ring finger of both hands. I didn't want them reshapen and he did it anyway and messed the shape up. I asked him if he could do a Mickey Mouse head on my nail and he tried but it honestly ended up looking like Shrek. For that service it was $35 for a fill. I'm not sure what pricing is for fills but seemed kinda steep. Now this last visit I had last week was horrible. I came in without an appointment for a gel mani/pedi and was serviced immediately. I asked for a specific design and had pictures of the reference. The guy (didn't get his name but was the younger of the two that work there). He made my nails uneven and left them longer than I wanted when I told him I wanted short to medium length. Didn't do the design I wanted after telling me he could do it. (If he said he couldn't I would have picked something simpler.) The girl who worked on my toes was good until it came to the French tip. If she wasn't able to do it, I would've settled for plain toes. They were crooked and chunkier than they should've been. Then a couple of ladies come in around 6 to get a mani and pedi, the two who were servicing started rushing. I didn't want to tell them at the salon that I was unhappy with the service cause I didn't want to make a scene . Even though I was unhappy, I tipped $15. Bringing the total for a full set gel manicure and gel toes $113. I called when I got home and explained to the girl that I wanted a reshape and different design and I asked if the day after was okay at 5pm and she said yes. Then the day of that the guy who serviced me called and told me he can't do it because he's too busy and to come back the following day. I politely let him know that I'll be out of town and needed it done when I needed it done. He told me that I can come in the morning but my schedule didn't allow it. He got kinda rude and told me to call when I'm ready. I was upset and told him if he can't service me, I'll go to another salon and the guy said it's fine to just call. So I really didn't feel heard. I wasn't planning on leaving a review until I had him call me back. I'd figure you would take the time to satisfy a client but guess not. read more

I'm so glad I gave this salon a second chance! They are currently celebrating their grand reopening with 10% off, thru the end of the year. We had amazing service for a basic mani and a spa pedi-my friend and I were both super pleased with the outcome. My only wish is that they had more normal nail polishes as many looked pretty old. But overall a great massage and the care put into our nails was amazing! read more

They have plenty other nail rings that they have. The nail colors they offer so it's not like I'm holding up other clients from taking a look at it, but when I had told the second woman that comes to ask for the color, I'm choosing that I was still looking the start up in their language again and she stands there with her hand on her hip basically not wanting to budge until I choose a color. I don't know why that is such a huge deal to them. Some women are eating at their workstations one employee, I seen picking her teeth with her fingernail, then started to work on a customer when they walked in without washing her hands. Upon my arrival, I asked if they take card they said yes, but after my nails were done and I was ready to pay the woman says when she sees me pull out my card oh no cash I need cash. I said I asked this woman if you guys take cards and she said yes no no I need cash. Can you pay cash? I said I'll have to go to the bank thankfully there's a bank right across the parking lot. She said OK hurry hurry you Go. This was another unnecessary inconvenience. Luckily use the bank that is in the plaza. If not, I don't know what they would've done. I guess they would've accepted my card then I hope to end this I'll give my opinion on the quality of my full set. I found my acrylic nails to be very thick, especially at the tips. They look like duck bills one of the nails was crooked and I pointed that out to her while she was doing my nails and she said no that's your finger. lol my overall experience and outcome of my nails I would not suggest this unprofessional disorganized, rude salon to anyone.

Had a great and relaxing experience! The owner was super friendly and sweet. She provided me water and random snacks to munch on. I asked for a basic Mani and pedi and requested if they can do a major scrub on my foot. At a point I use 3 people working on me. Felt like a queen! I love that the place is clean. Everyone was nice and tried to make conversation with me. Great selection of colors! But unfortunately I was a little disappointed of my color selection on my hand, it did not look like the sample color they gave me . Overall they did a good job on my nails in cleaning and scrubbing my foot. I would def come back and recommend this place to people if they happen to be in the area.
