Parking is limited so I tend to park at the Baseball field nearby and walk down to their location. They have never disappointed with their selection of Master & Senior Stylists to their Junior/Student Stylists trained in house. Not to mention, it's a beautiful salon with freshly cut tropical flowers all over and a mod and boho vibe that I esthetically love! They always ask me if I want a drink too whether it's sparkling water, coffee or a Mimosa. I've supported both Senior and Junior Stylists alike. I do try if possible to stick to the Junior Stylists for a more affordable option but of course they all become Senior Stylists eventually. But I do believe the Junior Stylists can be 50% off the Master or Senior Stylists. Sometimes they have promos that include a Free Haircut on my Vagaro app. Today I got a Full Balayage and Haircut. I asked for more Ash Blonde tones since my top was already showing my dark roots. I also wanted French/Curtain bangs and some face framing layers for my cut. After the foil painting that took about 1-2 hours, I was taken to the Shampoo and Conditioning station which included a relaxing scalp massage. I had Toner applied twice to bring the color I wanted to life. Along with my haircut, the whole process lasted maybe 4 1/2 hours so if you do a Full Balayage, make sure you eat before you get started and prepare to have a salon day! Downside is that Good Hair isn't cheap by any means plus this is Maui. I paid $375 (not including the 20% tip) for the Balayage and Haircut. I believe my Stylist Shayla is now a Senior Stylist but I've seen many of the talented Stylists over the years, Ace, Manelle, Sara, Chloe and Shayla. If you're looking for amazing, feel beautiful and confident hair, make sure you save up and go to Salon 253! What I appreciate is that they take special detailed care to make sure your hair cut and color is what you're looking for and the ladies are all so friendly and sweet too.

Then Kiana finished it she flat ironed it as I wanted. I told her to make it flat to my head and she did just that. I left happy. The experience I had with Salon 253 was great. Their customer service is great fun the time got walk in to you leave. The price i paid for a wash, blow dry, and flat iron was reasonable. I'll be back to try something else. This place is awesome!…read more Current circumstances: The COVID-19 protocols here really make you feel safe while getting a hair cut: they sanitize between each customer, only you and the hair stylist in the room at one time, hand sanitized upon entering, stylist wore a medical grade N95 mask and a face shield during the cut and at the end of the day they use UV on indoor surfaces. My mother went to another salon who didn't even wear a mask! Come here for your COVID cut! The cut: I had Erin as my stylist. I went from a bob to a short pixie. An important part of the hair cut experience for me is the chit chat, and she was a natural, it really was a great experience. The cherry on top: my hair laid differently after it got use to the shortness and felt a little bulky in one spot, so I called her and she fit me in that day to fix it and I have the perfect hair cut!

I had Darnelle (who also cuts hair at the Grand Wailea!). She is SOOOO awesome, but in professionalism and personality. She's just...warm? YES, that's the word. I gave one star because the location was convenient....but not sure it even deserved that!…read morestopped by as a walk in today....and was told by the gal in the shop that she was the only one who worked there AND she was only working today until noon! She had one customer in the chair and one under the dryer. I was willing to pay for a hair cut, wash and dry and two pedicures. I would have bought hair products too! They sure missed out on alot of business and money today! Even when I asked if she could just wash my friend's hair, who just had surgery Friday...the gal said, "oh, sorry I cant". Obviously this shop, (or at least the beautician), is not willing to help people even if they just had surgery and need clean hair! Wow is all I can say - no compassion at all! Why wouldn't they want to be open long enough to provide services, perhaps build clientele and make some money? What kind of business turns away clients just because they want to leave work early? Perhaps they need to hire more Stylists? Just doesn't seem like a very dedicated shop to me at all! It's so sad to be treated like this on the island too. It was a big mistake to walk into this unfriendly shop - we wont make that mistake again! Good luck with getting any help or service at this shop - no ALOHA!!
