I believe RJ took my call when I booked my reservation. It is a small salon tucked away in a corner in some strip in Wailuku, but do NOT be fooled: this salon is pretty freaking great. RJ has cut a lot of my friends' hair, and not a single one of them ever walked away unpleased. I have only heard of laud and praise for all members of RQD2 salon. I had Darnelle (who also cuts hair at the Grand Wailea!). She is SOOOO awesome, but in professionalism and personality. She's just...warm? YES, that's the word. She's also got a helluva sense of humor and engages you in conversation that she genuinely seems interested in. Now, onto the cut: she spends a lot of time listening to what YOU want. Not once did she push me into doing it the way she wanted. She was incredibly attentive and never pulled on my hair or made my scalp sore. I showed her the picture and that was ALL she needed. She's been doing this; she definitely know what's up, haha. I was so afraid to go from long to short, but Darnelle, man--she calmed me like no other. She never rushed me, either! I came out so happy with my cut that I almost cried. A lot of my friends recommended her to me, but there is nothing like going in and really experiencing a haircut by her. I went to Q for my nails 3 times while i was living/working on Maui and let me tell you what, I was sad I had to leave the island knowing I couldn't take him with me to do my nails forever!! He's so creative and does AMAZING designs and his prices are the same as other salons nearby but he's a million times better. So good that when my boyfriend came to visit for our anniversary and we had a spa day, he had surprised me with getting my nails done at the spa (because he was planning on proposing that day) and I refused to have them redo the nails Q had done for me even though it had been about a week and a half since they were done. So glad I did because my nails are on point in my ring pictures :) read more

Heard a lot of good things about RJ the stylist here at RQD2, thus my 10 year old son and I gave it a shot and came in for a hair cut and we were not disappointed. RJ is a trending stylist and talented. He is friendly and quick, but pays attention to details and wants to make sure everything looks perfect. He did an excellent job on my son and I. You will need to call in advance and book and appointment with him or any other stylists there. Recommended! They also do manicures and pedicures here too. I've been going to Pedicare Center Kihei for almost 4 years and they've always treated me well and gave great service and knew what I liked, but R2Q2, specifically Q since he did my nails and sorry not sorry, but I am blown away, so much that I will never go back to Pedicare. If only Yelp had a rating of 10 stars, I still wouldn't be content with only rating 10, Q deserves a minimum of 100000 star rating! I am IN LOVE with my nails! Q was warm and careful - restored my completely trashed nails to respectability and health. He gently persuaded me to change my habitual gel color to something fresh and flattering for spring and I'm glad he did. Plus he made my mom happy. I called the day before and he came in an hour before their regular opening to fit me in; I was able to show up at a lunch that day without having to sit on my hands. I wanted a brand new mommy makeover look I asked for layered hair and bangs-- something very different but all I got was a couple of inches trim and not even bangs, just long fringes right below my cheekbones for $45, and the stylist was also pushing me to get $45 worth of shampoo and conditioner which I ended up getting, then coming to find out that I could get it for less the price someplace else. I have been going to RJ for ages. I love their new location right in my neighborhood in Wailuku. They are so convenient. He always finds time to see me despite how busy he is. GO HERE! I told Arjay that I had the worst hair ever and wasn't sure if the Brazilian blowout would work for me. After looking at my hair, he said it totally would, so I nervously made appt...when I went in he kept saying, you're going to love it, and I kept saying, I don't believe you...He's so calm, nice, confident, knowledgeable...and....I LOVE IT!
