It was very easy to organize an appointment via text with Patrick in his tiny 1 man salon, and there is easy parking in the market car park. My daughter has very long hair and it needed a good 4 to 5 inches trimmed off which Patrick did happily, adding long layers and a shaved nape to take out the bulkiness and keep her cool. He even added a cute spur of the moment diamond design in the shave which rocks! Luckily my daughter had wet hair from her shower that morning as Patrick didn't wash her hair. I'm not sure if that is because of Covid or because there was a water leak from next door causing problems the day we visited. You may want to call and check before you visit. Pricing was competitive compared to other salons on the island and Patrick was very welcoming and friendly. read more

Patrick is great! He fixed my bad haircut from a competitor. I went to him due to the good reviews. He called back and appt was exactly on time. It's funny, for a hair cutter he doesn't talk much so that's even better. ha ha.....I have nothing to say either. He was focused. Also, if you get there early there's a fruit store and a few other places to check out...I think one was t-shirts and the other sold dope pipes. The only reason for 4 stars is the parking. This is a review for Peter Phan, the massage therapist that works out of the studio. One word- amazing! Best massage Ive ever had. I met Peter when he was giving me a pedicure- the leg and arm massage was so good I asked if he had his own business. Luckily, he did. I booked a massage for my friend (who was getting married the next day) and I. She loved it as well. My only complaint is that he doesn't make house calls to California! I had procrastinated getting my hair cut and highlighted and was leaving for vacation the next day. The high end Wailea salon I usually go to had no space available for me, and I called 3 other places before I got Jennifer on the phone -- she could take me. I walked in and frankly I was a little skeptical... but I was desperate, so I just said a little prayer and left it in the hands of the universe. To my delight, Jennifer gave me the best haircut I think I have EVER had, and my highlights look beautiful -- and I paid MUCH less than I usually do. It's been 4 days, and every day I wake up thinking WOW my hair looks sooo great --and that is definitely not the norm. Getting lots of compliments, too, which is wonderful. On first glance, this is a modest salon, and is not as fancy as some of the others I thought I had to go to for a high quality cut. Don't let the appearance fool you, Jennifer is very skilled, and does a great job. She listens to what you want and delivers. I had a great experience here today. I never go to salons to get a haircut, I usually do it myself. So this was a first for me. I was a little worried, but glad I went there after researching other salons. The lady who did my hair was super nice and made extra sure that I wanted to chop off a foot of my hair! I was sure. I have been been looking for a place to cut my hair since moving to Maui. I needed a trim to clean up the ends a bit...nothing fancy. I noticed Stranz near Foodland, and saw it had 5 stars and $ on Yelp so I decided to try them in the late afternoon on 12/2/16. The stylist, an older Asian woman whose name I can't remember, fit me right in and asked me if I wanted my hair washed. I told her I just washed my hair so no. I asked for a trim and a little framing around my face. She wet my hair and spent about 18 minutes giving me a quick cut. She didn't dry it or style it to see how it looked. No product, nothing and she charged me $35. I gave her a $3 tip but I thought something was not right... When I got home and dried it and realized that "layering" meant two layers 4 inches different...so I have a bunch of hair that is too short and a bunch of hair that is the length I expected. I have not gone back to ask them to fix it because I don't want all my hair cut to the short length. Fortunately I can still pull it up and hide it until it grows out. I'm very disappointed with my experience at Stranz. I'm going to make my husband cut my hair. The cut can't be much worse, and I won't waste $38. read more

Patrick does my color and he's wonderful with reds‼ I like it that he uses color systems that have low ammonia content but still cover gray for my fine hair. His salon in Kihei is very small, so you don't get the fumes and noises from other stylists. He listens to what you want! read more

It was the day of the hurricane and my regular hairdresser cancelled. I was desperate for a cut and Jennifer was open at 9am, so grateful to find a hairdresser close to home that was open when pretty much everyone was closed due to the storm that never actually came to Maui. I showed her a picture of the cut I had been asking my hairdresser to do all year and wasn't getting from her. I showed the pic to Jennifer and she gave me exactly what I wanted!! Jennifer took time with the cut and it came out perfect! My previous hairdresser works at a popular salon close by and only spends a short time with me while talking to her coworkers. I like to use an over the counter hair dye rather than a salons, its very hard to find someone who will use my own dye. I gratefully found Patrick. He's one of the most accommodating service professionals I know. He works with me for appointments, is always on time and does a very good thorough job. His hair washes are great, there is no doubt there's not a speck of dye or product left when he's done! Fun to talk to, personable, the time goes very fast. Very helpful on prices, understands hair services at a salon are a luxury for some budgets. Always able to get an appt quickly even though he is always busy. Available in two locations.
