Detailed Walkthrough: I received two mailers in the mail from two different dental companies. I set them aside and intended on making an appointment eventually. Like most people, I've had a fair share of lousy experiences with cruddy dentists. Eventually came sooner than later when my crown popped off and the temporary cement from CVS (which over the past few years has been working relatively well) didn't work. After several attempts at getting the sucker back on, I reluctantly dragged myself to the computer at midnight and began looking at the mailers, Groupon, and Yelp. Initial Impression: I was shocked that every review on here had 5 stars. I mean this is a dentist's office. You mean to tell me not a single person had a gripe? That's so rare. I was optimistically skeptical. What Drew Me Here: 1) Free first examination and x-rays for new patients. 2) Availability. I logged in early Sunday morning and had 5 time slots to choose from for the emergency appointment, to include the very first of the morning! The Process: (For those of you who want to know what you're walking into, are on the fence about going back to the dentist after bad situations, or are a bored voyeur looking for a glimpse of a random Yelper's experience.) I entered into a very clean, comfortable, and welcoming waiting room I was promptly greeted by the receptionist, Crystal, and the office manager, Kelly. Crystal handed me the new patient forms. Kelly, Crystal and I chatted while I filled out the paperwork. They treated me more like a family member than just a client. Denise took me to the room and I put down my belongings. She lead me to a state of the art x-ray machine and took the first set of x-rays. Another set of x-rays were taken. She offered me water before the doctor came in. She, too, was very friendly and was good conversation. Dr. Haghi came in and we discussed the results of the treatment options and settled on a treatment plan. She listened to my concerns and didn't (like every dentist I've been to before) talk down to me or demand I do what she said because she was the expert. Crystal came back and discussed my treatment plan and the associated costs. She explained that I could apply for CareCredit (if my credit was good enough) and we discussed the different ways the payments could be broken up. I needed a deep cleaning and she allowed me to choose whether or not to break it up into two appointments or get it over with in one. I was grateful to have the option to get it over with in one pop. Denise came in and put a small mask over my nose to administer the nitrous oxide and gave me a blanket. (I don't care how old I get; if you offer me the comfort of a blanket, I will take it!) Kevin, the hygienist, was very attentive during the deep cleaning and was very careful not to hurt me. He allowed me breaks for enough time to cough (I'm a mouth breather who clearly thinks I'm part fish and that I'll do okay aspirating water. That folks, is 100% my fault and 0% Kevin's fault.) After the cleaning, he took more x-rays and showed me that he actually did get all the gunk out from under the gum line. He scheduled me for my free one month follow up, gave me my "goody bag" of dental items, educated me on how to better maintain my mouth at home, and suggested products that are conveniently sold there at the office for a very fair price. I opted to get a tooth extracted. Denise assisted Dr. Haghi in the process. I think the shots to help numb the area were worse than getting the tooth pulled. The tooth extraction took about five minutes. The doctor consulted me on what I normally take for pain; wrote a prescription for mouthwash, antibiotics, and my pain medication. Denise administered oxygen for five and I chilled out to the streaming music in the office. I went up front and paid. My ride hadn't gotten there. So I had a chat with Crystal and Kelly until my ride showed.

Today, however I was surprised with an entirely unexpected event.  I was refused a cleaning because I did not want x-rays.   To clarify the "why"... my wife and kids have had appointments in the last 2 weeks and my wife requested no x-rays because this office is relocating requiring us to find another Dentist.  She did not want to get x-rays knowing that many Dentists try to get "new patient x-rays" when you are new to an office.  Dr Maxwell gave us no notice of a pending move during our visits 6 months ago.  So when my wife arrived for the recent cleanings she was informed they were moving she asked they not do x-rays.  Interesting part of the story is the Dr still allowed my wife and kids to get their cleanings.   Now to my visit today.  When I informed the hygienist that I would not be getting x-rays, she informed me that if I am not getting x-rays she was not going to clean my teeth and I could leave.  I was shocked at first and didn't know exactly what to do other than leave. The conversation was that quick and to the point, I was not given conversation or options. I thought this employee may have "gone rouge" and I decided to call back to the office and inform them of this.  I also wanted to make sure they did not attempt to bill me for a cancellation.   Keep in mind there was a 20 minutes gap between my departure and my phone call.   I reached someone at the desk and they were very familiar with what occured.  I was 1st told it is state regulation that patients recieve annual x-rays and that Doctor made an exception for my wife and kids.  When I repeated back to the employee exactly what she was saying about it being law and that I intend to verify this.  She then changed the story to insurance liability reasons and that the Doctor could make an exception based on my medical history.  I asked why did the hygienist not have any dialogue about medical history as a consideration?  Or consult with the Dr?  I reminded the person on the phone I am 48 years old, never had braces, only one incident of a "sticky pit" and never even a cavity.  I am not a patient that needs frequent x-rays and if the Doctor made an exception for my family why not me.  The office person kept interupting me attempting to justify why they could refuse treatment to protect their liability.  She only listened when I informed her that intend to post my concerns on social media sites because they "cancelled" my appoitment with no cause.  She then said, if you come back right now we will clean your teeth.  At this point I am 25 minutes South on the toll-way and told her if they want to make it right help me reschedule this week.  I said call me or text me with options for cleanings today and I will see what I can do to come in.  Btw, Doctors are not the only busy people. I never received a call back, thus I am doing what I said I would do.  At first I thought this may have been a rouge employee, but now I recognize this is a lack of respect for their patients to decide their own level of care. After billing my insurance company 4K & I paid over 3k out of pocket I'm left to begin my teeth journey and dental office searching all over again after 20 plus years. Informed the office I have all receipts showing I had a zero balance from them each time I went but they stated they made a mistake. Stay clear from this office.
