Detailed Walkthrough: I received two mailers in the mail from two different dental companies. I set them aside and intended on making an appointment eventually. Like most people, I've had a fair share of lousy experiences with cruddy dentists. Eventually came sooner than later when my crown popped off and the temporary cement from CVS (which over the past few years has been working relatively well) didn't work. After several attempts at getting the sucker back on, I reluctantly dragged myself to the computer at midnight and began looking at the mailers, Groupon, and Yelp. Initial Impression: I was shocked that every review on here had 5 stars. I mean this is a dentist's office. You mean to tell me not a single person had a gripe? That's so rare. I was optimistically skeptical. What Drew Me Here: 1) Free first examination and x-rays for new patients. 2) Availability. I logged in early Sunday morning and had 5 time slots to choose from for the emergency appointment, to include the very first of the morning! The Process: (For those of you who want to know what you're walking into, are on the fence about going back to the dentist after bad situations, or are a bored voyeur looking for a glimpse of a random Yelper's experience.) I entered into a very clean, comfortable, and welcoming waiting room I was promptly greeted by the receptionist, Crystal, and the office manager, Kelly. Crystal handed me the new patient forms. Kelly, Crystal and I chatted while I filled out the paperwork. They treated me more like a family member than just a client. Denise took me to the room and I put down my belongings. She lead me to a state of the art x-ray machine and took the first set of x-rays. Another set of x-rays were taken. She offered me water before the doctor came in. She, too, was very friendly and was good conversation. Dr. Haghi came in and we discussed the results of the treatment options and settled on a treatment plan. She listened to my concerns and didn't (like every dentist I've been to before) talk down to me or demand I do what she said because she was the expert. Crystal came back and discussed my treatment plan and the associated costs. She explained that I could apply for CareCredit (if my credit was good enough) and we discussed the different ways the payments could be broken up. I needed a deep cleaning and she allowed me to choose whether or not to break it up into two appointments or get it over with in one. I was grateful to have the option to get it over with in one pop. Denise came in and put a small mask over my nose to administer the nitrous oxide and gave me a blanket. (I don't care how old I get; if you offer me the comfort of a blanket, I will take it!) Kevin, the hygienist, was very attentive during the deep cleaning and was very careful not to hurt me. He allowed me breaks for enough time to cough (I'm a mouth breather who clearly thinks I'm part fish and that I'll do okay aspirating water. That folks, is 100% my fault and 0% Kevin's fault.) After the cleaning, he took more x-rays and showed me that he actually did get all the gunk out from under the gum line. He scheduled me for my free one month follow up, gave me my "goody bag" of dental items, educated me on how to better maintain my mouth at home, and suggested products that are conveniently sold there at the office for a very fair price. I opted to get a tooth extracted. Denise assisted Dr. Haghi in the process. I think the shots to help numb the area were worse than getting the tooth pulled. The tooth extraction took about five minutes. The doctor consulted me on what I normally take for pain; wrote a prescription for mouthwash, antibiotics, and my pain medication. Denise administered oxygen for five and I chilled out to the streaming music in the office. I went up front and paid. My ride hadn't gotten there. So I had a chat with Crystal and Kelly until my ride showed. read more

I have been going to Dossett Dental in Coppell for a while. When I first started, I had some problems with my teeth. But now, they just keep getting better and better! I didn't even know I could recover from damage I'd done. The office staff is friendly and professional. The work done by the hygienist and doctor is excellent. Had great experience here with my wisdom teeth extraction. I almost struggled for 4 months finding the right clinic as I had to get one of my wisdom tooth removed asap. I searched and tried 4 different dentist offices AND several dentists. Not good. THEN: Dossett Dental; This is the BEST ever. Got me in for an appointment, fast. In less than 2 hours, x-rays, consult for cleaning and talk with Dr. Mike Rodgers, D.D.S. Fair price and first appointment = 3 days. He was great. His assistant, Faydra, was caring and good at her job. Root canal, 2 cavities filled and temp crown in place-2 1/2 hours. No pain. I need other work and thankful to find this place and these people. They have you sign blank forms so they can fill the amounts in after you are gone. No one ever sat down with me to talk about a treatment plan. only what we can to today. They were clear at my first visit with an extraction on the cost but did not tell me any amounts after that date and I now have a collection agency saying I owe $1000. I am sure if you only need a cleaning it might be okay. If you need real dental treatment. Go somewhere else!! read more

This is by far the best dentist I ever went to. It started on a Tuesday when I felt pain in one of my teeth. (FYI it was a tooth that had a filling in it a long time ago and it cracked and the filling came out, totally my fault for not taking care of it sooner) So I scrambled to find a dentist open, by this time it was 6pm, but then I came across Dossett Dental and Iam glad I called. Long story short, my tooth was infected so they could not get it out but they prescribed me anti biotic and I came in today to get it out. The whole procedure was fast and efficient. I want to thank Tasha who helped me through the shots and extraction process. I admit Iam a big baby when it comes to the dentist. They are very on top of things. The dentist did not pressure me to get a bunch of things done, but rather told me all of my options and different timelines I could go by. I visited Dossett dental a few months back to have a cracked tooth repaired. I originally went to the McKinney location due to convenience but I now live closer to Coppell / Carrollton area. They did an absolutely fantastic job with me and my cracked tooth. It was time again to see the dentist, thankfully not for a cracked tooth, but when I called to make an appointment, the McKinney location was kind enough to update my records while I had them on the phone and they took note of my new address which is much closer to their newest location in Coppell. They asked if that location was more convenient for me and made the appointment for me in Coppell. I was pleasantly surprised to see some of the same people that helped me in McKinney now work at the new location. The McKinney office was very busy the first time I went (as was the Coppell office) so I see the need for a new location, but she was able to get me into a room by the time of my appointment, on a Saturday of all things. They took the time to explain the work I need and the costs and options available to schedule the work to meet my budget. They took their time with me and made sure they had answered all of my questions. They were great to work with the first time and equally as pleasant to work with on my second visit for treatment. These are great people to go to if you need dental work. They come highly recommended by me. read more

The dentist I had seen every six month for the last 15 years retired June 1, 2017. I made an appointment with Dossett Dental on November 18, 2017. Dr. Jeremy Unger was very professional and recommended in writing a treatment plan. On November 20th, Dr. Unger removed a cap and treated a filling under the cap. He installed a temporary cap and made impressions for a permanent cap. On December 4, 2017 I returned to the office to have my permanent cap installed. I was greeted by a new dentist who refused to install the permanent cap and honor the written treatment plan given to me on 11/18/2017. He recommended a 4 on 4 treatment which consists of pulling all your top or bottom teeth and installing implants on four posts. This treatment approaches $20,000 for top and $20,000 for bottom. He would not honor Dr. Unger's written treatment plan and I am left with a temporary cap. I believe a new dentist should honor treatment plans in progress and the staff should inform patients that the dentist they had a appointment with was not longer on staff. read more
