This restaurant is located in a Trader Joe's parking lot so be ready to try to find parking in this lot. I went on a Monday around 11am and was greeted immediately. The interior has different types of seating including some comfy chairs and a long table for large groups. I ordered the vineyard burrito, which was probably the best veggie burrito I've had. Unlike most veggie burritos which lack imagination and flavor, this one had many items that complemented each other. I only finished half and asked for some foil to wrap up the rest. They took the time to wrap it up with paper around the burrito and covered it with foil. This hidden gem will definitely be a place I will return to get that amazing burrito again read more

I love this little place. I worked on the street in an elementary school so grabbing an iced tea and a peanut butter cookie after school is always a special treat. Quaint little coffee shop with warm and inviting employees. Located conveniently next door to Trader Joe's. Hubby and I were early to our winery appt so we stopped by for a cup of coffee. The interior was cozy and there were a lot of ppl ordering for there. Highly highly recommend the Spanish latte. Perfect balance of bitter and sweet. The hubby was feeling adventurous of course so he tried to Wisconsin latte which had cinnamon and honey. He liked it, but my drink was better. Cute place- great ambiance. My smoothie was delicious. I was excited to treat my sister to a birthday beverage. However, when my sister ordered a black tea and took her first sip, she was disappointed to receive an earl grey black tea. She just wanted black tea and never thought to ask if it was earl grey which she can't stand. After one sip, she asked if she could exchange it, the employee told her it was a preference not their mistake so she would have to pay for something different. She ended up dumping it and went away an unhappy customer. This kind of customer service was unheard of! (My husband used to work in the coffee business and would never have handled a situation like this.) What happened to the customer is always right? Is future business worth $3.50? Unfortunately, this move cost you an opinionated customer who will now be telling others to frequent Starbucks instead. Such a bummer! read more

I walked into Merry Hill this morning at 7:45 am. I was the only person in at the time. I asked for a jalapeño cheddar bagel with butter and the person taking my order was very unpleasant. For a $6 bagel I would expect it not to be charred to a crisp. I go to merry hill at least 3-4 times a week and have never been disappointed, this is the first time I felt unwelcome. read more

I absolutely love Merryhill coffee, I go quite often. But today the experience was a little sour. I had ordered two large iced espressos and they were given to me in small cups, not a huge deal. So I just asked if I could pour them in bigger cups because there was not a whole lot of room left for cream. First I was told that I needed to specify what size cup at the register(which I had), and then I was told it's a waste of cups. Both baristas just looked at me the whole time like "drop dead", not super friendly or cheerful. On Mother's Day of all days, when I was there with my two small children. I will still be back, as it's one of my favorite coffee spots, it was just not a pleasant exchange and left me a little irritated. read more

We try to support local businesses so stopped by specifically for all of gluten free pastries that others had noted. Unfortunately those were old posts, and they now only have 2 types of gluten free cookies, but only had one kind left today. Not sure if this was a one off thing but I ended up with not much to eat. The quality has gone down a lot since change of ownership. Poorly made drinks and unwelcome service. No one seems to really know what they are doing. I ordered Cortado, and the cashier didn't know what that was, and what I received was not a Cortado. Way too big of a drink and completely wrong ratios and too foamy. Closer to a cappuccino. I also ordered to go and received it in a mug. When I finished drinking my Cortadocinno there was a small pile of grounds at the bottom of the mug. The shot of "espresso" seemed watered down and the grounds at the bottom of the cup were way too coarse for espresso, I'm not even sure if it was espresso. the only thing that made it not a terrible cup of coffee was the fact that they use Slake, I have never been disappointed with Slake, this shop does not represent them well anymore unfortunately. read more

We were driving thru Templeton and stopped for lunch in the area. We wanted coffee and ice tea for the road and I noticed this coffee shop across the parking lot. Very nice interior, looked like a relaxing and quiet place to sit and visit over a coffee or tea. Pastries looked good also (we were full from lunch and didn't try). My husband's ice tea was freshly prepared and his only complaint was there was no extra large to go. New owners don't understand there is a pandemic. Went in there a couple of weeks ago, (I do love their coffee) and no one had a mask on and there is no social distancing, at all. Since the mask mandate is now being enforced, I called today before I left to ask about masks. The young lady said they were not wearing masks. When I asked her why she said that they had medical conditions that precluded them from wearing a mask. I asked her if every single employee had a medical condition and her reply was "yes." I call BS. We used to go here all the time. They have lost our business, as well as our friends' business that used to all go there. Really sad! JUST PUT ON THE MASK!!! I can guarantee we will all come back. Facial Coverings are now mandatory statewide Effective June 18, 2020, the State of California now requires the use of face coverings in indoor and outdoor settings (where physical distancing is not practical) anywhere outside of private homes , according to a new state directive tied to the State's Executive Order directing all residents to continue to obey State Public Health directives. read more

A year later me and the hubs came back. We lived in Templeton for a couple months while working and used to come here all the time. So of course on our road trip we made a dedicated stop (bummed I hadn't wrote reviews before). It's family owned and the sweetest women work the counter. They gave an extensive menu with non-dairy and sugar free options. I love their sugar free vanilla latte with soy milk! There's tons of parking. Seating inside and outside. Even better it's right next to Trader Joe's, so you can do some shopping and grab a delicious drink for your way home. read more

Not a single person in this store wearing masks and judging from the responses to other reviewers pointing out the same thing this company obviously has an agenda against mask wearing and are full on in covid-denial. Pro tip: Don't make bitchy responses to customers on Yelp... To top it off, the prices are outrageous for coffee drinks. A 'large' (same as a medium at starbucks) Americano costs $5 which is almost double what you get at bucks. I don't usually go for drip coffee at cafés since it's usually been sitting in a carafe and stale, BUT I tried the Guatemala roast this morning at Merry Hill Coffee (per the owner's recommendation) and it was AMAZING! A very balanced roast and it tasted fresh. I love this place and highly recommend it if you love artfully brewed coffee. The owner is so kind and helpful. I'd also recommend the Sofia roast if you like a dark roast coffee. I can't wait to try more of their coffees! read more

Loved this place! Girls behind the counter are super lovely. It's right next door to Ike's in the Trader Joe's plaza. I had a very late night trying to catch the meteor shower so I needed some caffeine, and randomly walked over when I was waiting for my Ike's order. And wow, I didn't expect to have one of the best iced coffees with oat milk ever! They even serve BOBA. My friend got a coconut smoothie with boba and he said it was very decent. As a small business owner myself what I see when I walk into Merry Hill Coffee is EPIC. A family ran business that supports the customers rights of free will. Perhaps the owners should have a sign out on the road that states the following; " We actually feel that you are smart enough to make your own decisions on your health, your family's health, and your community's health. We appreciate your support of our family ran business. And yes, you are correct when you say that we are not afraid of creating a tribal safe place for the cool kids!" For those that feel the government will protect you... head on out to Flint, MI. and drink the public water or go put your elderly parents in a home in New York or Pennsylvania. Coffee is very good. Service is very good. If I lived in this community.... this would be my coffee shop.
