    Donuts and peanut butter cookies.
    Ron Y.

I came by late morning and picked up a couple of donuts and cookies. I tried finding this place about 4 years ago but Google gave me bad directions so I tried again this time with no issues. It is sort of out of the way when your traveling north or south on 101 but I say it's worth it now. Templeton is a nice little community and is worth just walking around and enjoy the view. The donut shop itself is a cool looking building. Customer service is great, I asked questions and recommendations and gave me straight answers. I had an old fashioned maple donut and later ate a peanut butter cookie. It's rare to eat a real good homemade cookie especially peanut butter. They had some great looking quiches but I wanted to make sure the donuts and cookies were good. So I'll be back for the quiche when I come through this area.

    Burned cherry danish. Pretty obvious

Went by this morning to pick up a croissant. They had no eggs or croissant sandwich. So I picked up a cherry danish. Got it home and it is burned. Shame on you Templeton donuts! You know when your food is burned and when it's not.

There are some gimmicky donut places out there--but if you want classic donut crunch and softness and texture and flavor, just pure unadulturated sugary high, then this is the place for you. We usually go with the classics here, maple bar, chocolate bar, or glazed. Plus, the quiche is so good that I used poor judgement and ate the whole thing before I could take the photo...hence the styrofoam container photo--sorry, folks! But you should also try the ungodly monstrosity known as the cinnamon roll donut. It is white and wide. And. Delicious! It is easy to support this type of local place.

Everywhere my fiance and I go, we always try to find a donut shop! From artisan to mom and pop, we love them all. What actually stole the show though was a slice of the Spinach and Feta Quiche. It was creamy, but light. Melt in your mouth good. The donuts you could guess were also like little pillows of love. Get your classic donut fix her for sure. Super reasonably priced too. Staff was all very nice too. Great spot to checkout.

Our normal order is pasole and brown rice bowl. Pasole our past few times has been lukewarm and lacking flavor. This past visit we waited 45 minutes for our food and saw most of our plates getting cold at the window. We had to ask our for a status of our order when normally we have never waited more then 10-15 minutes. Food was again barely hot. The brown rice bowl was dry and is now missing ingredients and no longer is anywhere near the same dish as it was. They didn't even put the pesto (magic green sauce) in it. It's as if there is a new chef running things cheaper now. Today as we woke up planning to go to paso for wine tasting and our group had zero interest in going there for breakfast due to past experiences. It no longer is our go to breakfast spot which is sad. Also we have noticed on our past visit that front of the house staff and back of the house staff didn't seem to be communicating well. At one point we watched one employee working with the a cook and the cook just stared at the employee ignoring her. When there is communication breakdown in a restaurant this begins the gradual death of a business. Hopefully they can clean it up fast. We may give this place one last shot but if it's just ok quality we won't be back. The food is too pricey to just had bland lukewarm food.

Real folks enjoying hearty comfort breakfast served up by real folk with big personalities in a diner environment. The food... I ordered a cup of coffee and Hubs the iced tea. Our waitress never let us see the bottom of our glasses. Very attentive. Even offered to refill the drinks to go. We ordered the 2-2-2 eggs, cakes and bacon plate to share and a side garden salad. Yes a salad for breakfast. Super glad that they served that and didn't have to wait until lunch time.the cakes were huge. Big as my round Charlie Brown head. Yummy tasting with a touch of sweetness. The bacon served crispy. Classic diner style. Plus the waitress didn't even bat an eye, no attitudes about plate sharing. She was terrific. She and the other waitresses were fun and sassy. Pricing- the menu prices are for cash payments. If you pay with a card, it's a 3% additional. It's says so on the menu and this practice is not uncommon. Breakfast menu- Omelettes, biscuits n gravy, eggs Benedict, scramblers, cereal, cinnamon rolls, burritos, huevos, rancheros, machaca, steak ranchero, and chilaquiles. Lunch menu- satisfying sandwiches, greasy spoon burgers and dogs, salads, and homemade chili and soups. The interior looks s comfy and homey. Has the look and feels of eating in someone's home. Lots of folks of varying personalities sitting at the counter bantering with each other and the staff. We ordered the veggie omelet, veggie scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, and the kids pancake with bacon. Each entrée came with a choice of toast or an English muffin. One thing that really stood out was that, without us even asking, the staff split the dishes onto separate plates for everyone at the table. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made sharing so much easier. The veggie scrambled eggs were loaded with fresh vegetables, and the salsa added a great burst of flavor. I personally preferred the hash browns, they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The breakfast potatoes were also good, and the rest of my family actually liked those more. The pancake was huge and fluffy, and the French toast was finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. The kids pancake came in the shape of Mickey Mouse, which absolutely made my son's day. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. Between the exceptional service and delicious food, this has become my favorite breakfast spot whenever I travel to the South. Chorizo is tricky, but this was perfect... no grease, very limited heat, allowed the full meal to shine. Hollandase (beni) was perfect... red sauce on the chiliquelies was amazing.
