I tried an iced vanilla latte and I enjoyed the taste and quality of the espresso beans. Service was kind and quick. The ambiance was very cute. I'd recommend.

What a sweet and down to earth space. I appreciated the interior design choices. It gave rancher vibes and it worked. My half-caff latte had a very bold flavor so I suppose that might be helpful to know if you're sensitive to strong tasting espresso. I bought a ceramic and to-go mug because they were just so cute. I'd love to visit again to find a better suited drink for my taste buds.

My mom and I love taking a trip up north whenever we can and the most recent one was the end of June this summer. On our last day, we were walking around a bit before heading home and I stumbled into Cayucos Coffee looking for my next pick-me-up. I ended up getting an iced pistachio latte after talking to the barista a bit and I really enjoyed it! I'd come again for the coffee alone. But the barista was also really nice and I enjoyed talking to her a bit as well. Overall great experience!

We stopped in at Cayucos Coffee while in town visiting our grandparents. I had been before during the pandemic but this was the first time I had seen their full space. I love the vibe inside and were happy to have no line. The employees were very friendly and my vanilla latte was delicious. 10/10 recommend!

Fast service, tasty drinks, and nice ambiance. Love all the plants. Staff was very friendly and coffee came out fast even though it was a busy day.

Coffee tasted burnt. Felt like the staff was more concerned about talking their personal lives with locals than helping customers.

Got a vanilla iced coffee, it was sooooo good and tasted great! Will definitely come back again. Atmosphere is very cute, open and inviting with seating area inside to enjoy a chat or do homework.

Felt like we were in a time warp that took us to the 1970's. Ok, if you are in the area highly recommend going. We were in Pismo for the weekend and the 30 minute drive was easy at 8:30am when we left. It opens at 9am so I thought it would be good to be there then. And so did about 80 people. The line was to the end of the block. Don't be deterred. We were striking up conversations with everyone around us. You order at the window, they give you a number for the table, and they bring out your food. Look for the sauces they keep above the sugar cream station. Onto the food! We got the San Luis Sunrise (free range eggs, Niman Ranch bacon ends, avocado, hk sauce) and the Mannix Machaca (scrambled eggs, slow cooked carnitas, hk green salsa, avocado, hk sauce). I thought by the look of it that the waffles would be the winner....nope! The blue corn flour tortilla Mannix Machaca won the day! Oh, and the ridiculous smoothly the Baywood Berry. One is enough for two and they'll split it for you. Put this place on your must try list!

It was delicious, filling, and perfect for the morning. I also tried the Kicked Up Coffee, which was surprisingly good for a non-coffee drinker! Their beautifully presented smoothies are another favorite, with plenty of creative combinations. This place is always top-notch, with friendly, attentive staff, delicious food, and a clean atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop in Cayucos! And for lunch, their pork carnitas tacos are some of the best I've ever had.

I was craving something savory, so I ordered the Pain Bijou, the ham and cheese croissant, and a blueberry muffin. There was a long line, but the food came out quickly once we ordered. This place sells out, and they were already out of a few pastries. I was told I ordered the last ham and cheese croissant at about 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday. We enjoyed the blueberry muffin while we waited. It was filled with huge blueberries and had the perfect balance of sweetness. It was not too heavy and instantly became a favorite. The Pain Bijou was delicious and reminded me of the flavors of a sausage biscuits and gravy breakfast. The ham and cheese croissant was really good, but for two people we probably could have just stuck with the Pain Bijou and the muffin. I look forward to coming back the next time we are in Cayucos.

The food was quickly served, and delectable -- I had a vegetable omelet, with a generous side of delicious potatoes, which were crisp on the edges and well-seasoned. The overall atmosphere and food were great. Our first visit was so enjoyable, in fact, that we went back a second time soon after, perhaps only a week's time... and were disappointed. We simply ordered the same as we previously had, so no menu changes for us, yet the experience was a change for the worse. Our food took a surprisingly long time to arrive (there was no one else in the dining room), subjecting us to music that was not classic jazz, but pop radio. When the food finally arrived the side of potatoes was limited and soft. The serving of avocado that topped my omelet was also noticeably reduced. The tomatoes had changed from fresh to sun-roasted, and the spinach was barely there. The previously generous serving of fries on the side of my husband and son's burgers was also reduced. The servers were all very nice both times, but when the food is inconsistent at a restaurant, that is unsettling because you can never go with any confidence that you'll get what you expect.

    - Groggy's Scallywag Coffee House…read more My girlfriend and I stopped at Groggy Scallywag Coffee House during a short trip to Morro Bay after she had noticed it on a previous visit. I'm glad we finally tried it. It's a small coffee shop right off Embarcadero with a simple setup. They have refrigerators with cold drinks, can make both hot and iced coffee, and also offer a small selection of pastries such as muffins, croissants, bagels, and cinnamon rolls. They also sell coffee to take home. There really isn't indoor seating, but that did not bother us at all. You're right by the coast, and there are tables outside in the breezeway along with areas near the dock where you can stand and enjoy your drink. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The menu is displayed on a TV screen near the entrance, which made ordering easy. I ordered a large iced Mexican mocha, and it was excellent. You could actually taste the spice in it rather than it just tasting like a regular mocha with a different name. I would absolutely order it again. One small thing that really stood out to me was their discount program. Near the register, they had a multicolored flag recognizing several groups including military, law enforcement, EMS, firefighters, dispatchers, and nurses. Before ringing us up, the employee pointed to it and asked whether any of those applied to us. I told her I was a nurse, and she immediately gave me 10% off. I thought that was a really nice touch. Discounts for military and first responders are common, but nurses are not always included, so I appreciated the recognition. Between the good coffee, friendly staff, convenient location, and thoughtful service, I really have nothing negative to say about this place. I would absolutely come back and would gladly try more of their drinks and pastries next time I'm in Morro Bay.
