We lucked out on the way home because we left before the last artist. But I heard that others were stuck for hours trying to get home. Well I guess the beach bus took the feedback seriously because on Saturday and Sunday, everything was smooth sailing. We got in a bus to the boardwalk immediately and even got to sit. And on the way home we had no issues. Even with the less than ideal situation on Friday, they more than made up for it Saturday and Sunday. And our bus drivers were all so friendly! Accessible seating is crucial for many passengers and is required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We expected the bus company to do a better job of accommodating riders with disabilities, but instead we were left behind without a good solution. The bus driver didn't even ask anyone to move. This experience made us feel that accessibility was not being taken seriously. No seriously she was rude yelling "Last Name" "get on board". No eye contact. Prior to this I was considering using Amtrak to visit my son as it seemed so convenient. But nope, not after seeing how rude she was. Yea folks it takes just one person. As Apprehensive as I was her attitude sealed my decision. Second the train station was dirty, smelly (urine) it literally backed to a restaurant and while it looks like the city is working on the structural issues they need daily attention to the cleanliness of the facilities. I was surprised as to how many passengers came off the train at our stop. Trash was littered all over. Only one bench on the south bound side of the tracks. This is a historic town where locals pride themselves on their homes and historic buildings and this left me very upset as to how neglected the train station was. I do t know who has the responsibility to clean it. But someone needs to step up.

He loaded our very heavy luggage and greeted us warmly. There were a variety of beverages in his Yeti cooler, and a box of snacks as well. We chose our music from the Sirius radio, but really just enjoyed pleasant conversation as we completely relaxed on the drive to the airport. Our vacation truly did begin when we got in that beautiful car. When we arrived at the airport, Larry unloaded our luggage and we were on our way. We received a text before we left Aruba from Larry confirming our reservation and another text when we arrived at the airport. Larry met us inside the airport at the luggage claim and moved our luggage to the car when we were ready. We enjoyed another very calm, relaxing ride back to Lewes after nearly a day of travel leaving Aruba. I was calling all the local florist in the area and none would deliver the day of. Also some of the so called big names wanted to charge me an arm and a leg plus they could not guarantee an on time delivery time. Last minute I thought to google couriers to see if I would have any luck. Gerald answered on the other line very bubbly and bright mind you it was before 8 am on a Saturday. Not only did he agree to assist me, he recommended a great florist, he also gave me ideas on how to package it the exact way I wanted to do it. The bus was the cheapest option and a nice lady gave me a 1-week pass at the first bus stop, so it didn't cost anything. It was a smooth ride. The middle seat in the back didn't get hot like some buses. It was loud though. The bus drivers were nice and didn't mind questions. They helped me find the right bus connection and stop. The people riding the bus were friendly and normal. It was a pleasant ride and I'd do it again. There are bike racks on the front of the bus, so they might come in handy. Until there is a way to go from Norfolk to Hampton as a pedestrian this is one of your few options.
