I think Covid ahas made this vet thing pretty difficult, especially for new pet owners. Just got a dog back in late march. I had a few mix ups with the staff in the beginning, but the vets are incredible. I try to book my appointments early in the morning and try my best to deal only with manga. I like her and I get answers to my millions of questions without judgment. Recently began fostering a second pup who I was super concerned about. Issues my mom has been dealing with for months and hundreds of dollars later, was taken care of in one visit. The ladies love my big boy. And dr. Morgan loves my little beagle girl. Wasn't planned but I'm happy with their care. The beagle had a major infection on her tail, severe allergic reaction to who knows what, and she was miserable and overweight. We changed her diet, clipped her nails, got her on a better routine and her infection is fully cleared up. Got a shot and her itchiness has subsided. Atlas has all his vaccines and since he plays rough with his best friend, he has an antiseptic for his little scrapes and bruises. Both are on heartworm and flea and tick meds. I came to this vet since I had my cat about 9 years ago. When my cat fell ill, Dr. Crocker and Legend took good care of him and gave me the bad news in a caring way. You can tell that they care about the well being of their patients (which are the pets). They provide all the options without pushing you into one or the other. I knew my pet was in good hands. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! Especially if you care about them and not having your time wasted! We brought our cat here out of convenience because it was close to work if we needed to drop her off for the day. Big mistake. In the beginning, everything was fine. Then the miscommunications and misinformation began. We wanted to get our girl spayed. We brought this up several months ago but pushed it off so we could do it at a time when we were off from work to keep an eye on her during her recovery. When we brought it back up, we were originally told we would need to get new blood work and an ECG done. All well and fine, we knew we'd need to get the tests done and had waited too long for her previous blood work to be useful. When we called to get the blood work scheduled, we were told we didn't really need to get the ECG done if we got the blood work. Weird that wasn't what we were told originally but we made the appointment. When we brought her in to get the blood work done, we were told we didn't really need to get the blood work done if we were getting the ECG. Should have been the biggest red flag in the world but we left without getting the blood work done but did make an appointment for the spay so we could make sure we were getting the date we needed. They also told us they would let us know when the tech would be in to do the ECG since the tech they used only came in a couple of times a month. We never received that call! It got to be about a month out from the procedure and they still hadn't contacted us. I went in to figure out what was going on. That's when I found out that what I had been told originally was the most correct. We should have both blood work and ECG done before the spay. That should have been the final straw but we were lucky enough to have one more ECG visit before the date of the spay and we able to get the last spot. They scheduled the appointment and scheduled the blood work to happen at the same time which was 2 weeks out from the procedure which we were told was the latest the blood work should be done. We drop her off for the appointment expecting to get a call back when she was ready to be picked up. What we weren't expecting was a call back that the ultrasound tech had LEFT BEFORE HE EVEN SAW HER. We were floored. In an effort to save face, the vet comped the blood work. When I went to pick her up, one of the in house techs told me that they were unsure if they could get the ultrasound tech back before the spay, but that we didn't necessarily need it to move forward. So, we were back to blood work but no ECG! I told them I was not comfortable with that. When they called back with the blood results they told us we could get the ECG done 2 days before the spay and we would get a call when he got there so we didn't have to leave the cat there. We were already reluctant but agreed hoping we could salvage the situation. When my sister brought our cat in, she was brought back and THE ULTRASOUND TECH IMMEDIATELY LEFT to go to another appointment. She waited for 40+ minutes for him to return to get an ECG that took less than 10 minutes. When my sister called the next day, she was told that the results wouldn't be available before 5 pm. Mind you it's now the day before the spay and we still had not heard anything about what we needed to do to prepare her or when she needed to be brought in. When I walked in, I got a brief run down and told them I would be waiting there for what I thought would be over an hour for the results of the ECG to be in. Within 15 minutes, the receptionist answered a call, conveniently on speakerphone she couldn't figure out how to turn off, saying the results are in. All trust lost, we promptly cancelled the appointment and will NEVER be stepping foot in this awful place again. read more

Absolute scammers. Made an appointment for a single vax shot. They proceeded to throw in a physical, blood work, and viral testing. $480 like it's cool. Oh, and there's follow-ups of course so the faucet never shuts. This is a 3 year-old healthy active indoor cat with no health issues reported by me, the owner. You want to give these people the benefit of the doubt, but after looking up exactly what they're testing for and what normal vet visits should be like, we're all in full-blown Stockholm Syndrome for going here. read more

I took my dog here for 9 months (4 visits) and though the Doctors and staff are friendly, I can't recommend this place for the following reasons: 1. Price: We spent over $200 per appointment for our largely healthy puppy which would be fine if we have phenomenal (or even consistent) care, but the communication has totally lacked. We took the dog in most recently because she had some green goop in the corner of her right eye, we brought her in and $200 later she had some antibiotics and a test for heartworm and ticks. 2. Communication: There was a lot of miscommunication, especially around the heartworm test results. I missed a call from the doctor, called back and was told the vet wouldn't be in for a few days so we couldn't get the results. It turned out the test was inconclusive so we had to go in for more testing. Then.. never heard back. I guess no news is good news. 2. Their prescription policy. I ordered tick meds through Chewy (significantly cheaper than ordering through Vet Wellness Center) and.. just never heard from them. Chewy kept sending emails to let us know they kept trying to contact Vet Wellness for a prescription but weren't able to. Anyways, we switched to Milford Animal Hospital about a year ago which has been a good experience so far. read more

I rescued a cat and I took him here because it was the closest place. He had been attacked by another cat and had an infected wound in his paw. For the first visit it was very expensive which I didn't think anything of because it was the first visit. However, their treatment for the infection/wound was a spray that was alcohol based so the cat hated it and felt pain. It also was more and more expensive each time. Not only that, but I kept spraying and he wasn't getting better. On top of that, there was a second wound that they missed even though I told them his backstory so they should have thoroughly checked him. They just made me keep coming in every 14 days hoping the spray and antibiotics would do the trick. It did not and they just charged me a fortune- they charged me for the visit plus whatever they did to him. I ended up taking him to another vet who had the cat's problem solved within 2 weeks and thoroughly checked him which included shaving him down, suturing him, and bandaging him (3 things Veterinary Wellness Center didn't do). The second vet also only charged for whatever they did and not the base fee of just showing up. Overall, people at this place are nice, but it is too expensive and unhelpful. read more

Three of my pets have been seen by Dr. Morgan MacKay, and we've appreciated his care and thoroughness with each visit. We first saw Dr. MacKay during what ended up being a stressful situation with our sick cat, whom we eventually had to put down. During this ordeal, Dr. MacKay made sure we were being taken care of with the hospital (separate from this facility) and helped us understand our options every step of the way. Other than this context, Dr. MacKay has been thorough with my other cat and dog. Even though I'm sure he's busy, he'll take the time to answer questions and give his advice. I do have to dock a star because every appointment we've had is significantly behind schedule. I know things happen, but at this point, I budget an extra half hour because I assume everyone is running late. read more

If you can avoid this place I highly recommend finding another vet! I unfortunately needed to use vet wellness while living in New Haven and I did not have a car. My main reasons for disliking this place are: 1) The staff are incredibly rude. I am shocked by the horrible customer service. (See specific story below) 2) Appointments ALWAYS start at least 15-40 minutes late.prepare to spend your whole morning or afternoon there. This was especially painful during Covid when it was cold outside but they didn't let customers into the lobby. So I had to wait outside for 2 hours for what should have been a 5 minute booster shot.... 3) They always overcharge me. The prices are much higher than at other places. And the bill always has surprise expenses. 4) you have to book weeks in advance for an appointment 5) even the vets are very unwelcoming / judge mental Finally, what left the worst taste in my mouth happened after I moved from New Haven. I received a phone call from a staff member saying I owed $100+. I was told I had bought a supplement and never paid for it (which is impossible). I told them I had never bought this supplement in my life and that I had already moved out of New Haven on the date they were claiming I bought it. They kept aggressively telling me I owed money. After several back and forths, I finally said you are lying and hung up. They never tried reaching out again because they knew they were lying and trying to get some last money out of me. The front desk staff here are vindictive and have no empathy. After a frustrating series of negative interactions with the front desk, I wrote a bad review. I planned to find a new vet once I completed the last follow up for my cat who was having thyroid treatment. However, when I called to leave a message for my vet, the staff informed me that they unilaterally shut down my account and will no longer allow me to speak to the doctor about my cat's care. They also added a long note to one of my pet's medical files accusing me of being unreasonable and making themselves out to be angels. Presumably they mean to poison the well so that I will have difficulty finding another vet. Clearly their feelings matter more than my pet's care. It is such a shame because I have had nothing but good interactions with the vets, and Dr. Crocker has been especially competent, caring and insightful. read more

Summary: save yourself the grief and get your pets' meds from an online pharmacy and do any bloodwork/vaccinations elsewhere. This office will suck your bank account dry. The staff are polite/nice and great with pets but because they're the only vet office close to Yale, they get away with charging exorbitant prices. My experience today was especially appalling. My cat's on a course of liquid antibiotics that I got from their pharmacy, but I ran out of medicine 3 days too soon. After notifying them, they initially made me think that I picked up/started the medicine earlier than I thought. I found proof that this was not true and pushed back (not sure what disorganization on their end that was about but it could've left my pet with an incomplete course of antibiotics). They called me back saying they'd gotten permission from the vet to give me more and to pick it up in an hour. So I went in 1.5 hrs later. I waited in their office for 30 min (apparently they hadn't yet gotten permission from the vet even though I was told they had?) and then paid $22 for 3 doses of a medication that initially cost $60 for 21 doses. I'm shocked--especially given the wait time--that they didn't give me those doses for free. I asked why I ran out of the med early in the first place and was told it's because it evaporates easily. Even if the problem wasn't the result of an incorrect initial pour and that's true (though the bottle has a stopper and was stored in the fridge)--why not warn the pet owner about this evaporation issue, and more importantly, why not provide extra in the first place so that the pet actually has enough for their full course? The fact that I wasted time for an extra visit is infuriating, as is the fact that the extra doses were so much more expensive than the original course of medicine. It frankly felt predatory and I regret being overly polite / understanding about it, so here I am leaving a review :/ read more

The staff and doctors are all very nice and the location is super convenient to downtown. Unfortunately their charges are WILD. It cost $900 for two annual check ups for our otherwise healthy 10 year old cats and booster shots and "senior labs". First of all, I just want to say that I've had nothing but great interactions with the staff and vet techs. The vets themselves, however, have been unpleasant and condescending. I have taken both of my dogs here and have seen both Dr. McKay and Dr. Crocker - would never want to see either of them again. We adopted our puppy on Saturday. We needed to take him to a Vet within four days. We called every vet in the area and we were basically told too bad, we're not taking any new animals. I then called the Wellness Center, explained my situation, and they made scheduling arrangements to see our puppy. We were so pleased with the way our puppy was treated, he had a thorough examination, was treated so well by the staff, and it was a great experience. I highly recommend them. I have been a client of Veterinary Well Ed's with both Dr. MacKay's for for over 12 years and have never ever had an issue until last Saturday July 31, 2021. Never ever a problem with any of the doctors or staff until my encounter with Office Manager, Mickey Syrotiak who terminated my relationship with the office yesterday, August 5,2021 on Saturday I brought all three of my dogs to one appointment, which was scheduled by the office. I have one dog that needs to be muzzled and to no fault of his, but mine because I didn't socialize him regularly when he was younger. My dogs gave separation anxiety and always, the dogs have gone into an exam room together. With new staff present, they were not aware of my practice or protocol. My muzzled dog doesn't like other dogs and I didn't want to cause any stress on him or another tiny dog in the waiting area. I demanded that I bring all of them in, with no other dogs around and brought right into an exam room. I was denied that until Mickey approached me. My muzzled dog was growling as Mickey approached me. He said, we're taking Kaine now" and I stopped him and yelled NO! they are all going in together, we argued and feeling frustrated and anxious, I said I might as well just reschedule the appointment. My appt. was 11:30a and it was already 11:45p with nothing done for my dogs. Mickey dismissed me and walked away to the office doo, saying to me "We'll, reschedule then", for me to get so upset and say "F...K YOU". He immediately told the other technician, Jason, to call the cops and entered the office. I followed yelling CALL THE COPS? REALLY CALL THE COPS? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Because I dropped the F BOMB ON YOU?" He left the front area behind a door with Jason, leaving front schedular MaryAnn to diffuse the situation. I yelled demanding to see Dr. Morgan MacKay at that moment. My appointment was with him and it's now almost 12:00pm (30 minutes) past my appointmen. Muzzled Kaine was panting in the truck. MaryAnn walked me outside and said maybe it was best we reschedule. I still wanted the dogs to see Dr. MacKay. My oldest dog, 12 years old had a growth on her eye, last seen by Dr. Lisa Mac Jay a year ago that had tripled in size. mMy muzzled dog has a mass on his chest that's hard, large and concerning. I told Mary Ann I needed Dr. MacKay to call me and she said she'd call me at the end of the day to see if she could schedule me with other staff and assured she leave my message fir the doctor. No calls at all from anyone on Saturday. I call on Monday, asking to speak with Dr. MacKay "Whose calling" I was asked by staff, I gave my name. I was placed on hold and Mickey picked up. I apologized to Mickey for swearing at him. I explained the history of my dogs to him, I explained that my dog was growling as he approached me too closely. The day was heightened. Loading (3) 80 lbs. each dogs into the truck and organize with my husbands day off is and was no easy task. Mickey said he understood and said he has 4 dogs and would think it would not be easy if he had to transport all of them for one visit. He said he didn't take my swearing personally. I said, but you did when you said to Jason to call the cops on me. I was never told when I made the appointment that my dogs would need to be seen individually. Then Mickey said, I was going to tell you that I was waiting for the other dog in the waiting room to be taken into an exam room and that we could take all three at the same time. I said "Why didn't say that on Saturday? You said you w ere only taking one dog at the moment. I said you know Mickey, ALL of this could have been avoided if you had just said that, but you didn't', then you threaten to call the cops on me? I said you really need to take some ownership too in what happened. He went on to tell me about himself and that he's been with Veternary Wellness Center since 2020 (less than a year). We talked more and discussed that it would be easier for all if they come in one at a time. I said my husband could bring them and Mickey suggested that my concerns could be addressed over the phone via speaker phone with the doctor. I loved this idea. Mickey said I've look at your chart and see how long the dogs have been coming here and at the end of the days it's about the date of the dog. He said he was going to discuss all of this with Dr. Morgan MacKay and call me back to re-schedule my three dogs agaib. Again, no return call. Thursday, 8/5/21 I call and speak with another receptionist and I ask for Micke. I'm told he's on break and I explain who I am and the reason for my call at length. I pleaded for a return call, this was around 2:40p. At 4:00p I get an email from Mickey with this letter below and all of my pets records: Good Afternoon, I wanted to reach out to you in regards to your relationship with our practice. Took my dog here two times in five days (once for a regular check up, the next time because he was throwing up). The two times I went, I got opposite, contradictory information. The first time, when I asked about my dog's weight, they told me he looked healthy and great. The second time, they insisted on running a lot of tests because he was so thin (he had lost about 1.5 pounds because he was throwing up for two days). The second time, they said he was thin even before he threw up, and when I asked why I had received contradictory information and mentioned that I was concerned that a vet clinic that I was paying hundreds of dollars to was giving me different information in the span of less than a weak, the vet ridiculed me, yelled at me, and was incredibly condescending. She told me the first vet was just a visiting vet, but when I pointed out that that was still a vet the clinic hired and one I paid hundreds for, she retorted "well keep your dog thin if you want," as if I was trying to neglect my dog. She then pretty much hung up and wrote a silly report of how "upset I was and how I was difficult", when I was just questioning the fact that their clinic gave me very different (although important) pieces of information about the care of my dog. They never addressed the fact that one of the vets gave me wrong information about my dog, and tried to insist on running many tests. This clinic overcharges and they are condescending and rude. They're also clearly not a reliable source of information about your pets' health, as they saw no issue with giving me opposing information in the span of five days. Save your money (they'll suck you dry) and go somewhere else. If I could give them zero stars, I would. The vet techs and other staff are great, but the ones making decisions about your pets, the vets, are arrogant and give conflicting information. read more

Special thanks to Dr. Morgan and Magda at VWC! They helped us get our furry son Simon approved to fly out of the country with only 1 1/2 days to get stamped by approval by the USDA! It was a very stressful unexpected series of events but Dr. Morgan and Magda were very helpful and effective! Dr. Morgan got on the phone and called the USDA pet travel cert. office to see what our chances were on things getting approved if we overnighted the paperwork, which thank God were relatively good, and Magda, the sweet pet angel made sure all of his paperwork was done right so it was approved! Now, it was a pretty expensive vet visit, about $200 more than we were expecting to get his travel paperwork in order, but they helped us get our little guy approved to leave the country with us and we are grateful! *Dr. Morgan also taught us a great trick how to give a cat pills easily! :) read more

I've tried to be positive about this place but no more. They told me over the phone I could have a tech do an anal gland expression; I showed up and they charged about $80 for a full vet appointment--I've NEVER had a vet charge full price for this. I'm on vacation in a tick-ridden place with my dog and request a prescription for Nexgard and Interceptor fulfilled through Chewy--now their policy is you have to pick up prescriptions in person and mail them?! Even if you're out of town and have been a client for years? My first appt with Morgan McKay I had to tell him to check my dog's ears, which he'd ignored. He cleaned them and then charged me extra for the cleaning. Lisa McKay wanted my dying cat to have an expensive teeth cleaning, which another vet said would be dangerous for her age and condition. The naked greed of this place is pretty astonishing, and it's gotten more and more client unfriendly. The only good doctor Dr Christine Crocker--I've seen four of the doctors--she was thoughtful and did NOT try to rip me off each time. But she's not enough to make me continue taking my pets there. I'd rather drive out of my way for better thoughtful care. read more

A MASSIVE rip off. For starters, you and your pet will never establish a relationship with the vet - every time I have been there my pet has been seen by a new vet - which doesn't help the anxiety he has when we visit. You will always have to wait at least 20 minutes to be seen. And then, get ready for The Big Rip Off - the costs are outrageous! And to make things worse they are masters at peddling anything they can. Every visit they have a new hustle. During my last visit the technician said she would run a blood test for my pet (note there was nothing wrong and I was there for regular vaccines - I thought this was routine). I thought nothing of it until they told me the cost of the visit - $700, of which nearly half was that innocent sounding blood test. Save your money and your soul and go elsewhere. I recently moved out of New Haven and had to switch vets, I'm terribly sad because this place is phenomenal. Fear free visits are so important for my 2 neurotic tuxedos. They are tremendously difficult when it comes to any blood draws, it takes 3 people to hold one of them still and they are so patient and careful to not hurt them or make them more anxious than necessary. Dr. Lisa McKay and Dr. Morgan McKay are so compassionate and very much in this business to truly help our pets. They have also gone above and beyond to help reduce costs for me when they were dealing with an illness as kittens. As far as I'm concerned, this vet is as good as it gets! Let me first say that I completely trust the care my pets get here and find Dr.MacKay to be a great vet and very personable. That is what prevents this from being a negative review. However, I've recently had some customer service issues that bring this place down for me and have me thinking about getting a new vet. First, the company changed their policy about "2-in-1" visits without notifying their customers (or me, at least). When I scheduled my first appointment in late 2017, the scheduler told me that they offer discounts to multi-pet visits. Indeed, my first visit for both dogs had a discount applied for the second dog. One year later, I discover that I no longer receive a discount for the second dog. I was never notified of this change and with veterinary care not being cheap, I appreciated the little bit of savings they offered. The staff just told me the policy was changed awhile ago and I would need to speak with the owner about it. Great. Second, the office has an awful policy for providing prescriptions directly to online pharmacies. I purchased a prescription through Allivet, which is a website/pharmacy approved by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. The pharmacy notified me that the office refused to provide a prescription when they called, telling them that they don't work with online pharmacies. I asked the office staff about it when I went in to drop off a lab specimen and was told that they only provide prescriptions directly to one e-pharmacy, Vets First Choice (with whom they have a hosted e-store), because they can't verify that any other online pharmacies are selling a legitimate product and they are looking out for my dog's health. I'm free, however, to take the hand-written prescription and provide it myself to any online pharmacy and get the medication. Seems really odd, right? Let's say you use CVS as your pharmacy. Can you imagine your physician telling you he won't call in a prescription to CVS because his preferred/trusted pharmacy is Walgreens? Why should it be different for pets? Additionally, the staff said that it is an inconvenience for them to send prescriptions to online pharmacies because the fax # may be busy, they'll have to call back 2-3 times, or it will otherwise be a chore to get it done. As an RN (I know I know, taking care of people, not animals), I can't imagine telling my patients that, even when I'm on the clock, I value my own convenience over theirs. I guess this is not an issue if you don't mind sending your prescription by mail and prolonging the turn-around time until you get your pet's meds. So yeah, even though I'm happy with the care, I'm not happy feeling like my time and money are not valued. read more

I always feel comfortable there and feel like I can ask as many questions as I can think of, and they always have a helpful answer. I feel like my pets are very well taken care of. I can see how they are all working SO hard through this pandemic , still keeping their services them same and being there for our pets through these hard times for everyone. I was very disappointed in their policy. I made an appointment for my dog to receive a rabies shot and was told that I would need to give an $80.00 deposit. It would go towards any services rendered. I asked the tech if I would be credited if the $80 was more than the shot and he said yes., that the shot couldn't possibly cost more than $80. Per the tech, shots range from $30-$40 and I would be refunded the balance. After my appointment I was told the office visit it self was $80 and that was what the deposit was for. Not once during my conversation with the tech did he say I would be charged for the office visit nor that it was $80. I was shocked the office visit was that much. I was very upset and felt like I was scammed into paying that ridiculous amount. Had he told me that upfront, I would have gone elsewhere. Be prepared to wait 30-45 min for your appointment to begin. 30 min! Even if you have the first appointment of the day which by the way is at 9! I've never been taken in right away, and once I waited another 25 min inside the room. I'm a physician and I don't make human patients wait this long. Otherwise their demeanor is nice, their place is clean, and my dog loves them! But just book less patients!! It's so disrespectful to my time that I'm switching vets bc of it! I'm sitting in their office right now. 29 mins and counting. I understand emergencies happen but every single time I come here? That's a systems problem, and it's completely disrespectful! read more

We took our dog here for the first time last night and had SUCH a wonderful experience. We had been going to another vet for the last few years but we will definitely be bringing our other pets here now too. Dr. Morgan was so thorough, put our dog at ease, and explained everything he was doing so we could learn what to watch for in our pup. Our last vet always seemed in a rush, seemed annoyed when asked questions, and gave me vague answers without explaining any of the evidence behind treatments. It was so refreshing to see a vet who was clearly up to date on treatment guidelines. We really appreciated how clearly he explained recommendations and answered all our questions patiently though we were the last late-night appointment and I'm sure he was tired. He took his time with the exam too - as a medical provider, I would be super happy if humans were treated this well!! read more

The Drs McKay and Vet Tech Larissa are terrific. Otherwise - it's a factory. Little time is spent on the visit with the Techs conducting most of the intake, not the doctor. So what am I paying $$ for?? A lot of time is spent waiting especially if they are busy. They don't know you :: they don't know your dog/cat :: appointment availability times can be limited :: even if you request a specific Vet, they are often not "available" when you arrive. In essence, little chance for them to get to know you or your cat/dog. The front desk staff is courteous but by no means friendly. Having a great Vet is like a finding a wonderful Pediatrician - take the time to do your research.......and go somewhere else. read more

Loved my experience with Dr. Morgan McKay and the whole staff. I have a new puppy and felt overwhelmed by all the medical attention needed (vaccines, parasite management, preventative meds) but everyone here was patient and extremely helpful. Dr. MacKay clearly knew what he was doing but I personally loved how sweet he was with my puppy. I just moved away from New Haven and was particularly sad to leave this place behind! Thanks for getting us off to a good start with our pup. read more

WARNING: DON'T GO HERE! I genuinely believe they endangered my pet for personal profit. When I called to make an appointment here, I told multiple receptionists that my cat had not had a bowel movement in 6 days, that he was crying in pain, and that he was vomiting repeatedly. They were planning on giving me an appointment 2 days away but we were able to work out an earlier appointment because I was so concerned. As soon as I came in for the appointment, I told the vet the EXACT same story I had told to the receptionist on the phone and he immediately told me to go to the hospital because it was an emergency and they didn't have an x-ray. No one at any point on the phone had told me this office didn't have an x-ray. In a situation where there hasn't been a bowel movement in a full week, any one who works at a vet should know that an x-ray would be necessary, which meant we should have been told to go straight to the hospital. Which in fact is what the vet here told us to do AFTER they collected the $65 for us bringing him into their office. When I called to complain after my cat was released from the hospital, the main thrust of their argument was that assume clients lie, and they often found the problem to be much less severe than the people report. I repeat, the main explanation they gave me is that they operate a business in which they assume the clients they have never met are liars until they can determine otherwise. The vet I spoke to also accused the vet at the hospital that I took him to of being melodramatic about my cat's condition. So according to them they acted appropriately and accordingly believe it is best practice to assume both their clients and the hospitals they recommend are liars. This is despite the fact that the vet we saw at THIS office also told me to immediately bring him to the hospital and where my cat had to immediately be admitted for two days. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THESE PEOPLE HAVE YOUR PET'S BEST INTEREST AT HEART. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Im not happy at all. Vets are exactly like car salesmen, double talking and upselling at every turn! I left my old vet because i thought they were bad, this place is brutal!!! I understand its a business but this is out of control! They prey on the fact that i love my dog like a son and want the best for him by using scare tactics and double talk,Just like a car dealer, or the DMV, 3 people give 3 different answers! Absolutely horrible experience at veterinary wellness center in new haven. I checked in for my kitty's scheduled appointment a few minutes early. I was told it would be a "few minutes" which was fine since i arrived a few minutes early. I proceeded to wait exactly 41 minutes in my car with my now shaking, scared to death cat until I finally received a phone call to give them "5 minutes" and they will take my cat. When the vet tech finally came out to take her she said there is still a wait inside to be seen. I could not do this any longer to my frightened, indoor kitty. I asked to speak to the manager regarding getting back my $80 deposit to secure the appointment. A young man came out a few minutes later and said he will not refund my $80 as I had taken up an appointment time. My appointment time was over 45 minutes earlier, so in fact, THEY did not honor the appointment time. I said that i will take this charge up with my bank, and he condescendingly told me the bank will do nothing about this charge. I said thank you for your insight, but I will discuss with my bank personally. Not one "I am sorry." Horrible experience. Will not recommend this "vet wellness center" to anyone or any animal. read more

I have brought my elderly cat here for routine veterinary care (check ups, shots) as well as surgery and teeth cleaning. The techs and people who work at the front desk as so incredibly lovely and helpful. My cat had an "accident" in her carrier on the way in once, and the tech cleaned up the mess for me and even gave me a new blanket to line the bottom of the carrier with. Dr. Morgan Mackay is so incredible with the animals, and truly goes the extra mile. He removed a mass from my cat's tail, and texted me an update (with picture!) on her recovery from his personal cell phone. They are a little bit expensive, but I trust them 100% with my pet. I've just recently moved out of the area, and will really miss them! read more
