Cuban Sandwhich with Sweet Plantains and Tostones

Been coming here since I was a kid. Super easy to order and all the staff is nice even when they're super busy. One of the best cuban sandwich places around. Cafe con leche is delicious, you can get it iced, and they have milk substitutes! Tables are always clean and I always enjoy eating there.

Quick stop here for Café con leche & guava Pastelitos to go post surf session. The coffee was excellent! The Pastelitos were warm and had the perfect flaky consistency. There was ample seating. Met the owner who was very welcoming. The restaurant shares a building with a small post office. The Cuban sandwiches looked amazing.

TOP QUALITY! I called ahead to make sure they were open; an extremely nice man picked up and invited me in very politely. I arrived and was greeted promptly with a smile. I asked for a Cuban sandwich which was delivered into my mouth about 4 minutes after. This Cuban sandwich was of the utmost quality, even better than the Cuban sandwich I have eaten at Versailles restaurant in Miami! I feel bad for you if you don't eat here. Please redirect yourself into Mervis' Cafe immediately!

As a recent transplant from the Miami - Fort Lauderdale area, I came across Mervis' Cafe quite by accident. Seek out the United States Post Office and you will find this authentic Cuban cafe tucked inside. They share the same building. One Media Noche and a grande Cafe con' Leche for me. Eat in, rather than take out. I had almost an hour to burn before picking up my kids from school. Why not spend it at Mervis'? Great sandwich with all the right ingredients and pressed just right, pickle on the side. As for the Cafe' con Leche, the 16 ounce cup contains about 4 ounces of straight espresso. Not too sweet and a decent cup of java. Fast and polite service. They have plenty of seating and parking, along with an extensive menu that includes breakfast. Recent renovations have been done and everything seems new. Mervis' Cafe also has free Wi-Fi. I would definitely visit again for that "Cuban" experience. No issues whatsoever. William E. Good Lunch! Ordered…read morethe Tripleta sandwich. Came with fries which I didn't expect. Tried to order the yucca but they were out. Ordered an empanada instead. Empanada was good. I've made them; they are hard to stuff full and this beef one was very good with an average amount of filling. It wasn't jam packed, but it sure wasn't scrawny. Filling was tasty, pastry was crispy and it came with a sweetened cilantro creme sauce. Sandwich was awesome. Had roast shredded pork, grilled chicken and beef, all of which was seasoned great, very flavorful. Sauteed onions and a few red pickled(?) onions were on top with cheese. Sandwich was pressed perfectly and served with a cilantro cream sauce that was really good but a touch too sweet for my taste. In my humble opinion, an avocado/cilantro/lime sauce would have been better, but that's just my taste. I added some hot sauce (Cholula) that I had at the shop and it balanced the sweet. Overall, really good, and they have Cuban coffee, cafe Cubano/colada, etc. I'll definitely be back. I love Latin/Cuban/Mexican cuisine and what I had was really good. Give it a try. I see some - reviews here but my experience was very positive. Friendly staff and patrons too!

Hey guys! Just a quick followup on this fantastic restaurant. So we went back yesterday for lunch,…read moreand again,NO DISAPPOINTMENT! The way the food is cooked here immediately transports me to my childhood home, with mom cooking, yelling at us kids to stop lifting the lids off the pots. This food is phenomenal. The rice and beans, platanitos, tostones, all have such a flavor, and that special ingredient that only a mother has, love. I had the tostones, the wife had bistec empanizado and we took the croqueta sandwich home. Man o man, I dont think I've ever finished ameal without taking a to go container with me. The service is excellent, food is 10 stars! I genuinely feel as if I was in a family members home for lunch or dinner, not in a restaurant. This place should be on a tv show somewhere. I think ill nominate them for Guy's Triple D. Keep up the great work, see you next week. :)
