I ordered the mole chicken with rice and warm tortilla. This is the second time I've tried mole and this mole was bitter. I had to take the sauce off the chicken and drown it with salsa. Lovely outdoor patio space and spacious indoor dining ensures that there is something for everyone. I dig the ambiance and vibe here, artistic touches with lots of color. They do have a HH, which some spots have done away with for the time being, that starts at 3:00 and ends at 6:00. You can find $6 house margaritas and sangria. I got the ceviche for $6, you can also get three street tacos for $6 as well. Tuesdays they have Taco Tuesdays which lasts all evening. $11 gets you a large beer, and three street tacos. (They should update their website as it still says $10.) I was here the other day and the complimentary mango appetizer unfortunately had been chopped on something that had either onions or garlic - so not so appetizing. I've always wanted to try this place. There were discussions online about how they had vegan options. I went there with a friend for dinner. They gice you mango with tajuin on it. We ordered guacamole and salsa for appetizers. Guacamole was do it yourself, made at the table. You receive three salsas. The chips were delicious. I got the jalapeño margarita. It can be spicy but it depends on who makes it. I got the burrito, the vegan one. It was just okay. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I would definitely give it another try again. I enjoy the "open aired" approach that the restaurants have, and it adds to the overall ambience and dining experience. This is a fun space and place for taco Tuesday. They offer specials on drinks and food into the evening!! It's better than happy hour, which they also offer. This is a great place to hang with friends, or a fun date night place :-) We usually start out with ceviche and chips. Yum! I wish that the ceviche was more consistent, but it's still tasty nonetheless. My go to are the enchiladas, or occasionally the tacos. The enchiladas are filled with meat, and I request that they go heavy with the sauce. My experience has been that if I don't ask, they arrive more on the dry side. Service is good, food is good. The prices are reasonable. Parking is free and easy! It's really the type of place that when you're done dining, you'd like to walk around, but unfortunately, other than some of the other restaurants, there's not really a place to do that. We have been here a few times and enjoyed the food, drinks, and service. The ambiance, décor and setting are very inviting. Milagro has plenty of parking out front for their restaurants which is a bonus. My favorite item on Mesa Mercado's menu is the chicken enchiladas and I get it with one of each sauce - mole, tomatillo, and red. Absolutely delicious and great drinks from the bar. read more

We needed a place for dinner for 21 people. We are from Hawaii so we found this gem on Yelp. The service was excellent and seamless. In particular Patti made sure we were happy and explained it would take the kitchen time to prepare all of our food. The cocktails were yummy, flavors on point and not too strong. We got the La Sandia Margarita and the Raspberry Kiss. Our food came out much faster than we expected and all 21 plates came within minutes of each other. Everyone was in awe of the depth of flavor and beautiful presentation. Patti kept us filled up on chips and their amazing salsas and spread happiness each time she served us. Found this place by accident and so happy we did! Mexican food is one of my favorites and Mesa Mercado checks all the boxes. This restaurant is located in an area with multiple restaurants called Milagro. Parking is free and ample. Many places were closed but Mesa Mercado was open. It was not busy, we were seated right away. Customer service was friendly and attentive. They gave us complimentary cut mango with tajin which was refreshing. The menu had a variety of options. I frequently come here with my boyfriend and it it's becoming our favorite place to eat. This restaurant is spacious and has outside seating. There's plenty of parking spots, I've never had an issue finding parking. Mesa Mercado is more than street Mexican food which people tend to associate with Mexican food. It is comparable to Zocalo in that it's fine dining Mexican food. In my opinion it's 100 times better than Zocalo. They offer free mango slices with chili powder as a small treat. If you order the guac and chips you get to mix what you like and stir it up. My boyfriend always gets the al pastor tacos. The salsa it comes with is divine. I always order from their vegan menu. They have many vegan options! I tend to order the tamal the most. I enjoy the vegan ceviche and the tacos de papas as well. The salsa that the tacos come with is out of this world. Such great service every time I come! Had an amazing dinner tonight with the family. Our waiter Jose was freakin awesome! He even mixed the Guacamole for me! The manager is also always friendly and a pleasure. Tonight we ordered the Spanish rice instead of the one that comes with it (white with peas and carrots) highly recommend doing so I love Spanish rice. I'm always hesitant to cheat on El Papagayo when it comes to vegan Mexican food in Sacramento. To be honest, in this town I'm usually disappointed. But not this time! I stumbled across a forgotten gift card for this place and instantly started daydreaming of margaritas and tacos. We all do that, right? Sure, this place is a couple bucks more, but I didn't come here for cheap - I came for quality. Sipping a Pepino Picante Margarita on the patio with friends and enjoying vegan tacos is an appointment I'll never miss. The deconstructed guac at Mesa Mercado is a must. Add as much or as little salt and citrus as you want - they bring it on the side for you to add and mash as you like. And those chips? Perfection. I ordered the vegan cauliflower tacos ($14) and I must say, I've yet to find a better version than these. The breading, the sauce, the blue corn tortilla - all fantastic. If this place had a vegan happy hour selection with more reasonable prices it would be on my regular rotation. Until then, it'll be an infrequent treat that I look forward to. read more

I called on Saturday to make a reservation for the following day (Father's Day) for 13 people at 10:30 am. The guy on the phone was great and took down all of my information. I came in yesterday right before our reservation time and a different guy working said he did not have a reservation for us. He set up the tables quickly and said he would let the kitchen know...thankfully the restaurant was empty. We were given complimentary cut up mango with Tajin which my daughter loved. We ordered the Guacamole which came with all the fixings, but we had to assemble it ourselves which I thought was kind of weird, but I guess some people would like being able to add what they want into it. We ordered some drinks and the food for the kids first. My daughter had the kids quesadilla which came with rice and beans as well as dessert for $7. I ordered the Pozole Rojo and my husband ordered the Enchiladas. The Pozole came lukewarm and the enchilada sauce and beans on my husband's plate were cold. My grandmother also ordered the Pozole and hers was lukewarm as well. My sisters-in-laws both order the steak and enchilada plate - steak was great, but again...the enchilada sauce and beans on their plates were cold. We sent back both bowls of Pozole and they brought my husband a whole new plate of food. They also brought new enchiladas for my sister-in-laws. The manager came over and apologized and offered us their 3 desserts on the house for the inconvenience. All 3 desserts were delicious! The desserts is the only thing that saved me from giving less than 3 stars. I am a big fan of their other 2 restaurants - Mayahuel and La Cosecha so I was very disappointed yesterday when I did not receivership the same service as I have received in the past from the other restaurants. On a more positive note, the location of Mesa Mercado is great - it is located in the Milagro Centre which also houses Broderick's, a poke place, Insight Coffee Roasters and a few other places. My wife and I enjoyed an early dinner together. We've been here a few times over the years. Staff are friendly, food is good, and the Cadillac margaritas are made how they're supposed to be made. The place is pretty pricey, but that's what Californians get by allowing $15 minimum wage to be implemented. Service dogs are not welcomed. It was very disappointing to be greeted by the host with "pets are not allowed". My friends service dog had a vest on, it was clear that he was not a "pet". The host went to get his manager, who came over to clarify that it was okay to have the dog inside, but in case other customers could be bothered by it, asked if we could sit at a table off to a far corner in the restaurant. It was highly disappointing that the manager did not have the professionalism to acknowledge that service dogs are supposed to be welcomed and could be sued for the inappropriate greeting we experienced. read more

I was really excited to try this place for the first time. Today is 2/22/22. It's Tuesday. Its taco Tuesday. It's TWOsday lol.
